***Can't be Tamed***

Hi girls!!! THanks for stopping in and saying HI!!!

The last couple of days have been really well....Aunt Flo has been visiting so I dont' think I'm going to weigh myself anytime soon...esp. since its gonna take more than just a couple pounds to really excite me again.

So, tomorrow is the start of the "July 10lb challenge" I can't wait to start kicking butt!!! Its been too long! I am sooo ready!!!

Hey Korrie! Just wanted to say how impressed I am with your challenge!! I'm currently losing at about 1lb a week so I didn't sign up, but you GO girl!!! :)

Hello Korrie,
Did I read correctly, is that a picture of your niece? Congratulations on your wedding and may you have a long and happy marriage. I had post partem pre eclampsia so have an idea of the drama around it, hope baby does well in hospital so she can come home soon and hope the new mum is getting lots of rest as she'll need it?

Take care.

Guess I havn't been in my diary for a while!

so, to update.....about a month ago hubby and I decided to get really serious about our weight loss and overall health. In the 1st 3 wks, I dropped 10 lbs...quick! But this past week, i've lost nothing so far. Its maddening...but I knew it would happen eventually.

Today I decided to get serious about exercise. I started walking today...like, seriously walking, not just a stroll around the block. we want to buy an exercise bike for cold days. Havn't been able to do so yet...as finances suck right now, we are still recovering from all the school clothes/supplies and fees we've had to pay. Once we get caught up though, its bike time!! Until then, i'm gonna concentrate on walking. I used to run the mile in track when I was in HS and by this time next year, my goal is to have all my weight off and be able to jog/run the mile again :)

So this morning, I weighed in again...got in that awful trap of weighing myself everyday. Anyways, I so desperately wanted to see 237...237 would mean i FINALLY broke through that dreaded plateau I was in for the past week. But did I see 237 on the scales??? No I did not. I saw 236!! I am so stoked!!! FINALLY I got over that hill!! I'm so glad I stuck with it. I hope I dont' have another bad week like that again for a while.

Hi Korrie,

I read elsewhere that you are now eating 1000-1200 calories a day and I was wondering if you were able to stick to that? Do you have to use tricks to fool yourself into thinking you are full? (i.e. drinking warm water or something)? Or did you go around feeling hungry for a few weeks and then it went away?

If you have already commented on this elsewhere, I'm sorry there is too much going on on the forum (which is probably a good thing, the more supporters the better:) ), I haven't found it.

And congrats of course :)

So its been about another month since I last wrote. I've been at 230 for about 2 wks now. I'm not gonna get upset. I know i've had a total of 3 maybe 4 dys off in those 2 wks...my fault. I'm back at it today though! I bought a pedometer the other day and today I strapped that baby on. I walked 1 mile twice and 2 miles once so 4 miles all together. its 7pm now and i've got in 12,455 steps....5.88 miles when its all said and done. I am so happy about that. The secrets gonna be to keep that up!!

Hey! we posted at the same time! lol!!

Yea!! I"m still doing the 1000-1200 cals. 1200 on most days. The only "tricks" I have is that I chew gum...alot! AND I try to eat every 2 hrs throughout the day. My husband and I beleive that way we can eat alot, as opposed to having a big meal then waiting 4 hrs to eat...AND i think it should keep the ol' metabolism running better.

Can't say I've had a real issue with hunger, and thats weird, I dont' know why. But when I do get hungry I eat something that has negative calories like baby carrots or grapes :)

I love my pedemetor :)
It really encourages me to walk more when I wear my it. I put it on the minute I get up in the morning. If I forget to put it on I laze around a lot more as it's not being recorded and it makes me feel that I can get away with cheating. It's silly though as the only person I cheat is myself.
