Cannon's Journal

Goodluck Cannon with detoxing exersicing nd getting fit!
It is a tough battle BUT it is a battle we can WIN!!!
Have a gr8 day tammy

Wow, Cannon, one year done! congratulations on eighty pounds gone. This is a milestone that you have relied on WLF faithfully and it has been key in motivating and helping you.

I am reading passing for thin now too (was it you?). A couple things stood out for me. One was "obesity is weakness made obvious", and the other thing was with obesity, you can ALWAYS have more food, but you can't have anything else.

Enjoy your summer!

Today is one my year anniversary of both my journal and of my attempts to take control of my weight. Tomorrow I call the gym. I have come a long way and I've dropped 82 pounds. I have a long way to go and I don't think I'll be able to hit my original goal of hitting my goal by age 40. Somehow that's not important anymore. If I drop 80 more pounds this year or 100 or 60 or less, what is important to me is that I countinue to make these changes a permanent part of my life and that I continue to get healthier and wiser in the year to come. There are places I can definitely improve on. I need to eat more fruits and veggies and get more fiber into my diet. There are places I have already made great changes. I exercise, drink water not soda, and have eliminated things like white bread from my diet. I cannot thank those of you who have accompanied me on this journey enough. Some people who have given me support when I needed it are no longer posting here and I hope they find what they are looking for and achieve success of their own however they define it. Others are still posting and making such a big difference to me each and every day. This summer I will be posting in your diaries every day or two instead of a couple times a week. Free time is a wonderful thing. What a year its been.

(play delicate pretty music here) Have I told you lately that I love you? La la la la la laaaaa. Cannon, I'm in awe...you lost 82 pounds last year? I love your post, so filled with nuggets of wisdom on all the habits you've successfully changed (water for soda eg.) You are maybe not going to get goal by 40 but I'm 45 and Tom is ... well, he's older (JOKING, Tom don't kill me!) and no matter WHAT age, I know you are going to ride this weight loss train all the way home. With your combination of smarts and personality, you clearly are in this for permanent life changes...me too. That was a very kind thing you posted in my diary today. Right back at ya! It's a privilege to be on this site with the likes of you. :hug2: :hug2: :hug2:

82 pounds lost is an incredible accomplishment. You should be very proud of yourself, and happy you started this journey!!! We're all with you, and want to encourage you to keep going!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!

hehe..... cheers to your weightloss and our friendship! :jump:

You've lost the weight of my 6 bowling balls!
Good for ya! Press on!

I had some old friends come visit for the weekend and frankly they were rather annoying and truely overstayed their welcome. Beginning with Friday I gave myself a weekend to eat everything I wanted to binge. I know this might not be very sound dieting. However, I wanted to allow myself 3 days to get all those cravings out of my system. I had cheesecake, I had fried food, I had pizza, and I hated it. I felt so worn out, so nauseated and sluggish and I know I gained weight with all the salt, but I probably wound up eating less than I usually do because of the nausea. Now, I could keep eating this way and I'd get used to this feeling--that's the danger, but I really don't want to. On the last week of school next year I'm going to do the same thing, but actually I don't know that I want to. Fruits, veggies, and fiber are the order of the day for me.

Good for you cannon - I find when I allow myself to eat like that half the time I dotn enjoy it - I had a fatty pasta at Boston Pizza on saturday night and I coudl only eat abt 1/4 of it and after on margarita I was feelign all the sugar god damn life style change heh heh heh!!! :D:D:D

Today marks my rededication. My weight stands at 389. However, I know about half of that is water. I need to go grocery shopping, but there were a few healthy recipes I wanted to search for before going to the store. Then I am going to get back and give the gym a call. I walked 3 miles this morning and it was great. I have a lot of things I've been putting on the backburner until break and now that break has started it is so hard to figure out what to do first.

Excellent on the 3 miles I missed my walk this morning :(:(:( Im sure i will be feeling it all day :( I slept in and have an early start

Good for you, Cannon. I bet you'll be able to accomplish a lot this summer.

I am going to post my fruits and veggies this week. I don't like posting my food, but I do know that posting is a good way to get me to eat them.

Howdy Cannon,
Congrats on starting the fruits and veggies I am doing the same I may fix a piece of chciken breast later tho because I don't know if it is possible to get full on just fruits and veggies? We are going to do it,I gained a whopping 8 lbs in a week geeeeesh I can really pack on the lbs.
Are you still going for walks if so and you are exsperiencing a heat wave like here(95) you may want to wait until sunset and take ya plenty of WATER!
Have a Fabulas Day,Tammy

I try and walk in the morning before it gets hot. We are having a heatwave and it worked today. If I miss the early mornings I'm definitely waiting for sunset.

So far today I have had a bowl of Kashi Go Lean, a blueberry smoothie (1/2 cup of blueberries, half cup of lowfat plain yogurt, half cup of skim milk, 5 ice cubes, and a tablespoon of honey), and some Amy's Spinach and Feta snacks. I'm lower than I'd like to be on fiber and high on sodium. My calories are better than perfect so I'm going to try and have an orange soon.

mmm - your blueberry smoothie sounds yummmy!!! I have my Slimfast shakes but I liek them as well and usually have a piece of fruit afterwards

I'm having a few issues. It is extremely hard to keep the sodium in check. I set a goal of 35 grams of fiber today, but even eating 3 servings of fruit, Kashi for breakfast, and whole wheat whole grain bread on my hot dogs, I'm probably going to wind up around 25.

I don't even check out my sodium amounts, although I should. I find it hard enough keeping track of my calories.

Have a good week Cannon, I'll be checking on you!! :hug2:
