Cannon's Journal

I will try and pop in on exercise guru Steve very soon. The more I think about it, the more I think that I should be in good hands. There is a medically based program here and while I may be the youngest by many years, the price is right and I think it minimizes the risks. Here's a link to what I'm thinking of

That looks fantastic, Cannon. Is that gym right in the same city as you? That really looks good. Great price. Responsible safe program. And I love older people...they'll be loads of fun. You're gonna take it all the way. I have no doubt of that.

The gym sounds promising for a beginning program which is what I need. I think I will join up for summer. It is fairly close to me, but being at a hospital I'm not sure what the parking situation will be. Its cold and rainy today, but I'm waiting til I get home to walk anyway. Hope it improves for me.

It rained here too... after work. I had to take train instead of bus so that I wouldnt get wet at all. Hope the weather improves for u to get the walk in! Yea the gym is good idea. When is summer starting? Ha i duno the seasons well.

Thanks, I believe this walk is going to actually pay for a new mamography machine for the local hospital. I'd love to say that I did the walk for all the most altruistic reasons, but as much as I wanted to do something helpful, I also used it as something to train for.

Hey--nothing wrong with that! My run benefited the Oakland Children's Hospital, but as you could tell, I was very interested in getting a good time *sheepish* BUT at the actual event, I looked around and saw thousands of people, and realized all that money was going to a great cause, and we were all doing something healthy for ourselves at the same time.

About the gym: yeah, I don't know, you obviously can do anything you set your mind to. Whatever feels right! But asking Steve might not hurt :)

I definitely think I'll pursue it. I will message Steve, but my main concern is that I don't do anything dangerous or irresponsible. The more I read up on the health center the more I think it won't be an issue.

it's always good to have a decent starting point then progress from there.. something to give youo gym confidence and make sure you're not going to break anything :)

sounds like a good plan...

Man, I had a rough day. It was probably my worst day since early January. Oh well, I'm not licked yet. I screwed up, but its going to take a lot more than this to keep me from my goal.

Hey Cannon!

Thanks for all the support you've been giving me this past week or so- it's almost over now :jump: :jump: :jump:

Your gym idea sounds like a good one- you are doing all your homework etc and that, I suppose, is the way to avoid injury etc! (and wasted money lol!) I say go for it, it'll all be supervised etc so- what's the worst that can happen?!

Just stopping by to see if you'd decided on the gym!

Well, just like you said, "You can do this, get back on this wagon" :)

well you made a mistake...but you'll get passed that and continue. there's no point in kicking yourself. compared to your good days this is a small drop in the sea.
i really hope you will have fun and enjoy yourself tonight at the concert :D
hugs,
Lena

just wanted to say thanks for swinging by my journal, and to wish you a good time at the concert. Hope its a safe evening and enjoyable evening out. take care!

Hi Cannon. I'm glad to see that you will pursue joining St. Francis. Let us know what you think of this after a few weeks. This could be a great transition plan that helps you keep the focus and motivation. See in your post above you've had a "boo boo". No long-term hurt, and you are already back on track. I'm a believer that "God didn't make no junk.........but he also didn't make any perfect people". Maybe these things happen because when you have been on the straight and narrow for months (January???) you need one of these off days because it helps you realize you dedicated you really are to this goal.

I really do believe these bumps aren't fatal and are actually helpful. The problem is that you can't plan them otherwise I think you're just deluding yourself into allowing yourself to go offtrack.

The concert last night was fantastic. The openning act was nearly as good as the headliner we went to see and we were in the front row. I discovered Jonathan Coulton about 6 months ago and evidently a lot of people have recently because he had played at the same place back then and I don't think he was prepared for the huge crowd there last night. Its shaping up to be a great weekend.

Good Morning, Cannon!!!! Nothing like a Saturday morning! It's all bright and shiny and the weekend is just full of possibilities!
