Cannon's Journal

OK, how unrealistic is it for me to lose 189 pounds this week? I ask because the biggest big and tall clothing store around here (Casual Male, Rochester Big & Tall) has now lost my business. They didn't send me a bill for 3 months and a $10 financing fee that I didn't think I even had went 3 months without being paid and all that is now on my credit report. I owed a whopping total of $16 after spending probably $30k at that store in my lifetime. I spent a large part of my afternoon talking to mindless drones yesterday and now wrote an angry letter, but I am not going to be happy. It was their mistake and a rather small one monetarily, but I have a good credit score and I don't want stuff like this on there.

Ooooo. :( I think they owe you Cannon. At least you have put your point of view to them. It must be totally aggravating to have had this happen though.

Some of the retailers are complete boobs. They have yet to learn about the concept of a lifetime customer. On top of that, they forget the old maxim -- that a satsified customer will talk to between 3 and 5 people, while a dissatisfied customer will talk to at least 20 people. And now you have talked to a few thousand people!

Just droppin in to say hi - I hope you are having a good healthy well controled weekend!!! And if you arent I hope you are having fun!!!

i'm sorry you had this problem with that store. as tom said, some retailers really don't know what i lifetime customer is.
i hope you're doing well apart from that :) how's your walking going?

Um, yah, they better wipe that off your credit report STAT. I would not stop at the management of this particular store either. It's the principal of the thing and a complete slap in the face after giving them such loyal business. Their mistake for not billing in the first place and for not informing their customers of this "financing fee". Does this effect your overall credit rating?? That would be bizzare! I'd go above the local dumb dumbs.

Its not the local store, its actually the national chain that I'm having problems with. I talked to the customer service rep and demanded to talk to her supervisor. When I talked to the supervisor she gave me an address to contact and I also found the company's stock info on line and CCed to the company president and the CEO. I'm also going to contact the 3 credit reporting bureaus. I have a problem though because I have no idea how to prove I didn't receive any bills. Its very hard to prove a negative.

gosh how frustrating :(
hope its all sorted out for you soon
on another note - you could try ordering off the internet?

So today instead of American drones I dealt with Indian drones. I lost my product key so had to call Microsoft for a new one. However, when I typed it in my computer told me I had an invalid product key. I have been on the phone with India for the last 4 hours. The best they can do is call me back on Tuesday. They're having computer troubles. Just my luck, I call Microsoft and they're having computer troubles.

Cannon, I'm sorry you are having such a lousy time with all of this. I hope it get straightened out soon. If nothing else you can just tell the credit people what happened, and they should note it on your file.

You know you're having a bad day when Microsoft tells you their computers will be down until Tuesday. Had about a 2 1/2 mile walk today and I'm limiting myself to about 1400 calories today (It sounds low, but its a one time thing to make up for yesterday and I'm going so low because I'm including a lot more fruit than usual). I went to go grocery shopping at 7 tonight, but after I got there I discovered my store closes at 7.

I hope so too. I have a friend who works at Microsoft and he's trying to look into things for me as we speak. I had jury duty today and could have gone, but I just took the sick day and then called to get jury duty postponed since I'm a teacher.

Mr. Cannon, I don't have a lot of time, and I can't make the rounds much today, but I just wanted to tell you I thought of you while I was running the race yesterday...because youtold me to do it for all the "fat people" out there, LOL! And it pushed me--and it made me think about how you can do it too--keep walking!!

Howdy Cannon,
Don't feel bad I had a lazy rotten weekend as well!
I never got my walk in last night then I ate more junk.I feel like "blah"
today tho.Monday's are always great for starting again ;) .Hope you
have a nice day Tammy

oh, Cannon, I feel for ya....I was on the phone with HP (in India too, I think) trying to get some troubleshooting on our office fax machine...seriously the guy was looking in the manual and putting me on hold every minute..."okay, you hold so I go check?" then...."okay you need use HP paper....." and so on...finally when he asked me to hold for the 50th time, I told him, no, I'd ship the machine back to HP and get a new one...and when their customer service rep called to ask me about their service I just began laughing and told them...you have to be kidding me, right? I was on the phone for over an hour without resolution. *shuddering at the memory*

So I got a letter from Casual Male today. It begins

"For the past several weeks we have repeatedly requested your cooperation in bringing your credit card account up to date. So far, there has been no response in the form of payment."

Since the only thing I got was a bill sent a week after they closed my account which doesn't even make mention of the payment being extremely late I am going to have to call them tomorrow and yell as some poor schlub. Corporations are evil things. No small business would be this unable to remedy $10 owed by a customer who had spent $30K over the last 15 years at their store.
