Cannon's Journal

I had a delicious dinner tonight. I had that bottle of beer I was saving with a couple of bratwurst and a salad. It wasn't the healthiest meal, but it was great just to savor the tastes and the beautiful day. I figure I was a few calories over for the day, but I got my walk in and it was a much better way to go over than eating something greasy.
 
I made out really good despite the beer and brats yesterday. I really need to find a tape measure because I think I'm seeing results besides the weight. I think I'm dropping inches and I should be down another pants size when I go shopping--yay! Today is a pot luck at work/ shower for my friend Colleen. I'm going to stay in control at school so I can keep the awesome momentum I've got this week going.
 
Hey Cannon, great news about the pants! I LOVE that feeling, when you have to go out and buy new pants because the old ones were too big. And good for you on the beer and brats -- hard to resist going overboard when faced with that good stuff!
 
Hi Cannon.

You are my final post before closing down. Today I'm off to help my sister pack her classroom! Took a week off to come home from China and my "vacation" is moving HER boxes!! Something is wrong with this picture!:rolleyes:

Been following your progress via your diary. I'm trying to convince myself that I really do LOVE red wine, but your diary is forcing the truth to the surface. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a good beer! Enjoy one for me.:D
 
Doh I have a commitment at 7 and I have to stay at school until 6. It's going to be very difficult not to take today for a rest day no matter how much I want to.
 
Cannon, I hear you on the long days and not being able to fit the walks in. Sometimes I climb stairs at work on a coffee or lunch break.
This morning I was woken by an incredibly loud bird at 4:00 am. I wanted to kill it. Would you believe it's almost 9 pm and that bird is still going?
 
No walk yesterday and walk today is doubtful too, but at 9:00 I do have a different sort of exercise planned. We'll see how that goes.

Hope you can fit the exercise in today Cannon. I know it's hard being a teacher. My wife goes into the gym every morning at 5:30 to swim, because that's the only time she can do it.
 
We've had to pack our rooms up so I've been leaving in the morning almost immediately so walking in the afternoon has been out. I decided with the wedding coming up and myself not having a date, I'd take a few dance classes. Since I lost a lot of weight, I figured I'd use it as an opportunity to show off. I took dance lessons with a girlfriend 15 years ago, but I've forgotten everything I learned. Not quite as intiguing as I would have liked I'm afraid lol.
 
Dancing is very sensual and oh so sexy :) especially a fella who knows how to lead :) Way to go for taking dance lessons.. have fun..

This is great news - knowing your making progress with the inches - and awesome momentum!! Congratulations! Good luck with the shopping!

It's a pity you have things blocking you from getting the exercise the way you want right now, but the fact that you are still itching to get to it is very positive! :) You can't have blocks in the way all the time! :)

I am on the treadmill at 5:00 a.m. --its best for me to get my workout in and over with....starts my day off and that way it gets done (I am whupped most of the time when I get home).

Though I am talking about adding my weight workout at the gym on T/TH on my way home from work.... :rolleyes: we shall see.....
 
I had my first dance class and it went well. The only problem was I did sweat quite a bit. I figure an hour of dancing that makes me sweat that much is probably a better work out for me than my 37 minute walk and on top of that, I'm using muscles I'm not used to (See Tom I'm reading your diary). Back when I was doing improv, I failed an audition for Second City and the director had me take dance and martial arts so somewhere in my memory from 15 years ago is a bit of knowledge. Some of it came back to me and some of it didn't. Today really was a lame day. I reallized I really am tired of my students. If I had stayed and started to teach in July I'd be such a jerk by September. This isn't the worst class I've ever had, but it may be the least likable. So many whiners and so little gratitude.
