Cannon's Journal

Hi Cannadoodle - taking mostly salad and then tiny tastes of everything else is a great idea! I'll have to remember that when Thanksgiving & Xmas roll around. Sounds like it was a great party, glad you had a good time... don't worry about the splurge, you'll kick it's ass. :D:D

Have a great day!

Hey Cannon,

I just love your attitude, how you see it as having a good time, but not destructive of the process... An inspiration, truly!!
Well, have a nice day, sitting by your side at the wagon:)

Wow, I'm still up 5.2 pounds from last week--not quite sure how that happenned because I was bad, but not that bad and I'm going to my brother-in-law's birthday party tonight. I'm going to be very well behaved tonight though. I can handle a 2 pound weight gain for the week, but its going to take some work to do even that. Thanks for the kind words everybody, I'm not giving up or feeling depressed over the weight gain, but I do see some hard work in front of me.

Good morning Cannon! *OHD waves* :)

Thanks so much for stopping by last night. *big hug*

You're a party animal here lately, it appears. Have a good time at the party, you deserve as many good times as you can fit into your schedule!

Hey Cannon!!! Read your last few posts, and when I get on the scale tomorrow I may be in the same boat as you. I didn't have lots of food options on vacation. Don't get discouraged, you can get that weight off.

Its not a race

I'm getting to caught up with speed dieting. That post by Jelly Belly is really appropriate here. I had two big parties and enjoyed myself and wouldn't trade either back for a small weight loss. I will probably gain 2 or 3 pounds this week, but that isn't the end of the world. What I have to do is to continue to make good choices and do what I've been doing since June. The weight loss will take care of itself. I usually remember that. When I saw I was up 6 pounds I forgot it. I've really increased my water intake and I am going to move my exercise time to the afternoon so that I can make sure that I get that working for me again.

That pharse has gotten me through some of the worst times of my life! "Just keep making sensible choices, live your life the way you see fit and ___________ will take care of itself." I should stitch us up a sampler to put on the the wall! ;):D

Enjoy your exercise!!

The weight is starting to come down now, but I still need to remember its not a race and to concentrate on the process. The results will take care of themselves. You're right Peguin--it does apply to a lot of different things :)

Hey Cannon,
You're so right about it not being a race - I love the One Pound poem JB posted for all of us! It is such a great reminder that 1. Every pound counts and 2. It really is about one pound at a time.

Some weeks move faster then others, but it's the long term goal that's in front of us.

You have made so many LIFE changes and it looks like parties are always a part of your life ;) So dealing with them and moving on is a great way of coping with this thing called life that keeps popping up at us!

Hi Cannapoo! (err... hmm, that doesn't sound very nice does it! lol)
Ok.. Hi Cannybear! Just droppin by... hope you're having a great evening. :D:D:D

Yeah, I really enjoy the nicknames though Can of poo isn't my favorite Peguin :) M2m, that poem was so perfect, I thought it was written just for me.

lol.. that's what I though as I was typing it.. can of poo... no not my best ever but it was so funny I had to post it! :D Glad the little nicknames aren't annoying you. Have a great night!!!

Well I don't have too much to say today except that I'm prepared. If I gain 2 pounds tomorrow I shall simply lose 5 the next week. I'm in a pretty good place right now and I'm going to keep dropping those pounds. Best of all, the weekend is almost here. As for work Beckster, its a love/hate thing, but I'm currently feeling the love part as I learned today that I have been making a big difference with one of my students and I didn't reallize it.

I loved when my teachers took an interest. I never actually went back and thanked them though. I guess I really should. 2 of my college professor were the best - more like mentors than teachers... * sigh* they are some of the very few things I miss about Arkanas.

Have a great night Cannybear!!

u never know when u touch someone's life through yr deeds or words. may u continue to touch the lives of those around u....
yea lookin forward to weekend!

What a great feeling of accomplishment you must have. You work so hard, and don't always see the gratitude you deserve. Keep your great attitude about the scale!!

The kid in question is a boy with a really gruff exterior. He gets no attention at home and he has an uncle in prison for murder which other kids have teased him about mercifully. He gets in trouble sometimes as a way of getting the attention he can't get at home. I just heard from the dean how much better he's been this year at staying out of trouble and how happy he seems in my room this year. He's definitely a handfull, but I can put up with a lot if I feel we're making progress and like I said he does have a big heart.

On the diet front I'm up exactly 2 pounds. I can live with it. Maybe not happily, but I do know it could have been worse and I also know I'll just go out and have a great week this week.
