Camila's Comeback!

Trusylver - Thank you!

MandyH - It is very exciting because now I am even more motivated to get the rest of it off! And I am so happy you are noticing positive changes too! I cannot wait for the day when someone asks, "Hey...have you lost weight?!" haha, vain, yes, so sue me!

Don - Thank you! That's really what it all comes down to. As much as it wold be nice for someone else to notice, I notice and that is good enough for me. I know all of the positive changes I've made and I am so much better for it!

Today was pretty good...

Food

Breakfast:
Juice: 4 kale leaves, 1.5 stalks celery, handful of broccoli. apple, lemon, big hunk of ginger
2 quinoa patties

Lunch:
Wooooops. Work was pretty crazy today. Lots of meetings. Just now realized that I completely forgot to eat lunch. But I am not super hungry so I'm okay with that.

Dinner
Salmon with some leftover spaghetti squash!

Managed to get my workout in on my lunch hour (OH...that's why I didn't eat lunch!) We have a gym onsite at work so that's helpful when I can make it down here.

Drank my 3 L of water super easily today so that is great...

Scale moved a teensy bit! I came in at 155.5 today. Nothing huge but I am pretty content with it considering TOM is right around the corner. Usually a week before I am at least 3 or 4 pounds up so...if this is as bad as it gets I am okay with that!

Might workout some more tonight. No fun, new recipes right now. Maybe next week, though!

Happy Thursday, everyone!

~Camila~

I LOVE LOVE LOVE spaghetti squash. I never get to eat it though because the brother doesn't like it at all. :p

Great job getting your exercise in during lunch! I did the same today and it felt great.

Cory - This was my first time having it and I was so shocked at how much I enjoyed it! I was worried about the texture but it was just perfect. I am sad that mine is almost gone and will have to make more ASAP.

So I know that I said I got my exercise in during lunch. I wasn't planning on doing any additional exercise...but I ate dinner pretty early then got bored. Since it was so nice out I decided that I might take a short walk. I didn't expect it to be longer than 1.5 miles...HA. For some reason I just...kept...going! Next thing you know, I have walked 5.5 miles in an hour and a half! Wow did it feel great. My legs are a bit sore now...but the GOOD sore! Woohoo! Just had to share. :)

Well (almost) HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! it's been awesome having you around!
Having said that - stop posting about yummy food! LOL - HAHAHA - I wanted to make cookies - but we already have some Easter eggs this weekend - so I decided against it. I will do them next week - it's our first meeting anniversary with my husband lol (we met online - after skyping for nearly 2 years I flew over here - and met at an airport - classic :D )
Well done on exercising on your lunch break! That's discipline girl! I wouldn't skip lunch though - I went through a bad patch end of Jan - and I skipped meals - my body went into starvation mode - I put on everything I ate. Even if you only eat an apple or something - just tell your body that you are not starving :D
Sounds like the spagetti squash came out well!! Pictures? :)

Justina - Congrats on the anniversary! That is such a beautiful, amazing story!!! Wow I cannot imagine what that was like for you, walking off of the plane and seeing him for the first time in person! (Sorry - totally dopey romantic here.) I wish you both all of the happiness in the world!

Don't worry, I don't normally skip meals! Today was just a bit weird with more back to back meetings. I really need to start planning ahead.

As for pics...hah. I did not take any of the spaghetti squash - I will next time - but I do have a pic of the quinoa cakes. Sorry, the image isn't too great. The lighting in my kitchen is not ideal at night!

Not terribly exciting but wow were they delicious!

Really nice having you here Camila! Your food sounds great...love salmon and anything!! Great source of omega3 , and tasty too!
Very good job on that hour long cardio class!! That's the type of stuff that will force that scale to move!! Keep up the great work!

Sarah

Sarah - I agree...salmon has become one of my favorite foods. There are just so many things you can do with it! And yes I love love high intensity cardio! Once this nasty sinus infection passes that is going to be my focus!

So I woke up at 5 today...with a pounding headache. So I took some ibuprofen and laid back down for awhile. Then my cough started acting up. I don't know what my deal is today...or lately! I swear, I hardly ever get sick! I really wasn't even in the mood to juice. But alas, I did! I heard a rumor that our corporate offices are giving us a paid early release today for the Easter holiday...which would be fantastic! Cross my fingers. Most people are on vacation already so the office will probably be quiet today.

Breakfast:
Juice: 4 kale leaves, celery, broccoli, apple, lemon, ginger (I added a lot more ginger today...gave the juice a nice kick!)
2 pieces Ezekiel toast

Happy Friday!!!

~Camila!

Camilla, Your journey is great! I am impressed with your diet! I am just starting mine and wish I could eat like your above post! It might just take a while. How did you get started with it? Was it gradual? Thanks and good job on your journey!

Hey Camilla - I hope you feel better soon! Good job with the juicing.

I hope you get released early today! Then you can chill out and rest!! x

Hey Camila, I hope you feel better soon! Eat well, stay hydrated, and REST if you need it. This is a long race we're in. :)

Storm - Welcome to the forum! This place is amazing, hope you find it helpful to you! As for my diet...I spent many years "dieting"...for me, keeping close watch on my calories just made me feel paranoid, and I bought into all the low fat/diet products. I guess for some people that works but for me, it didn't. So about a month ago...I decided that I had to make a change, and had to make it now. It sounds crazy but I literally woke up one day and decided to be healthy. I did a lot of research...and felt really confident in my findings. I found what works for me: Juicing and eating organic as much as possible. I tried new foods (like quinoa...it is amazing!) and changed my daily routine completely. It has not always been smooth, but I didn't let the stumbles freak me out. I adjusted and kept going! I think it has to be an individual approach. Like now I wake up at 5am every morning. I don't really *want* to...but for some reason that's what my body wants me to do lol. I get time to juice and maybe go for a quick jog before work...okay now I'm babbling! If you have any questions or need any help...there are soooo many amazingly helpful people here! Don't be shy, ask away! Omg sorry, wrote a lot.

Justina - Thank you! I am feeling better...yes the juice helped!!! Still coughing but oh well! I got out early woohoo! Going to go enjoy the weather and go for a long long walk! PS - Got the bottle of organic vino!

Don - Thank you!!! Sometimes it is difficult to remember that this is a long process. The reminder is always always appreciated :)

Woohoo got out of work early!!! Went to TJ's and picked up some groceries. I am going to try and make quinoa black bean burgers soon!

Oh yeah and the scale read 155 today!!! Yayyy. My lowest point in like 2 years. Only a pound this week...but I will take it! There is more to come!

~Camila~

Sorry you're not feeling well again. Have you gone to see a Dr yet? Maybe you have some type of virus or something that needs treatment? Awesome you got out of work early too. Wish they'd let us go, but with only a half hour left I don't see it happening.

Yay for another pound gone!!! You're doing awesome, keep it up!

Mandy - Thanks! I have been to the doc...gave me antibiotics and they never worked for anything. I actually hate going to the doctor and only go as a very last resort. I am definitely getting better overall...I think today was just a combo of the cough hanging on and my TOM. Hope you get to enjoy your weekend!

MY LEGS BURN! Just got back from my walk...7.32 miles in exactly 2 hours! Not bad. My body definitely feels it. It felt fabulous!

Lunch was some quinoa cakes and cottage cheese...dinner will be salmon and an organic orange!

***MEN, you may want to tune out now ;)***

TOM came...grr. Honestly though, I used to always get really severe PMS symptoms. Everything...mood, headaches, 5lb weight gain, horrible cramps...up to 2 weeks before! This month...NO symptoms except for my headache this morning. It's amazing what changes to nutrition and lifestyle can do. My life has so improved in just a month, it is crazy!

Happy Friday!

7.32 miles in 2 hours?? Good grief that's moving! How tall are you? I assume you must have legs like a giraffe to cover that much ground. By the way, I don't know who this TOM dude is that so many of you know, but he sure seems to find a way to screw with everyone's weight... maybe you should ask him to visit less often.

Also, I know what you mean about the changes in nutrition and exercise reaping rewards so soon... I may be horribly obese, but I feel LOADS better than I did three months ago. keep it up, Camila.

Great job on the exercise! That's a long way to go. I don't think I've walked 7 miles in my life.

Trusylver - Thank you! It felt absolutely great!

Don - Haha! I am actually really really short :( I am a whole 5'1"! (That's why I am overweight at 155 lbs haha) I was just walking pretty fast! My short legs are definitely feeling it right now! But I love it. The area that I walk in is right along the lake. There are tons of hills and rough paths. Makes it more of a challenge! Oh, and TOM is a real JERK! I should tell him to visit less often. :) This kind of lifestyle change is amazing, isn't it? I am so happy for everyone here who has committed to being healthier.

Cory - Thank you! It was actually more challenging than I anticipated. But it felt like a great exercise! Now just can't wait to get to jogging!

Are you on the pill? I used to have really bad symptoms at my TOM but since ive been on the pill they pretty much disappeared and its also a lot shorter which is nice (3-4 days versus 7 before)

Katie - We posted in each other's diary at the same time about - Ha! I actually used to be on it...tried a few different kinds but I had really scary side effects from them and was scared away forever! Some girls love it, some hate it! Weird how it is different for different people. Honestly though, my symptoms are totally gone this month since I've started eating drastically healthier and incorporating more exercise. Hopefully that does the trick for me!

Hey girlie - vino sounds good!! Yum! I probably open my bottle tomorrow for lunch & I will have plenty still for the Easter "feast" on Sunday :D
Your food is supergood!! (as always)
tom sucks - i can hear you when you say 5lbs gain - ugh!! I m just coming out of it - I m retaining water for 2 weeks !! So long!! But thankfully I ll have a good weigh in this week!! :) yay!
& your exercise - walking!!! Are you preparing for the walkathon ? :p Go superwomen!
