Camila's Comeback!

Justina - Thank you for the support and I know, things are never as bad as the seem. I think I just hit a breaking point. The wine helped, haha, but the intense workout helped even more!

Cory - Thank you :) Yes the number definitely helped making my day better. Seeing it stick this morning put me in a great mindset for this morning!

Don - Thanks for the reality check! I kept trying to tell myself to leave everything at work...but yeah that one migh take practice, haha ;)

After my day yesterday, I am taking no chances! I started my day off with my juice (kale, broccoli, celery, carrot, apple, lemon). Water will probably get taken care of this afternoon, and exercise when I get home. The day looks beautiful out so far, so hopefully that holds til I get home from work. It was great to notice how exercise acted as a great stress reliever last night. All the more reason to continue doing it!

Hope you all have a fantastic Wednesday! I for one cannot wait until it is Friday. :)

~Camila~

I finally got to read most of your thred. Your diet is an insparation!!!! You are very determined!!! I love how you talked about hitting the 150's! I am stuck there now! I want to be in the 150's. I just wanted to say thanks! Your diary got me inspired! GOOD JOB with your loss so far.

Great job on hitting the 10 pound mark! I'm inching towards it myself can't wait! The first hurdle cleared :D keep going!!!

Yep - agreed - exercise is a great stress reliever!! Good job! & you juiced!! I miss juicing - can't wait for the weekend when we'll juice again!!
I hope you have a better day today x

Storm - Thank you for reading! I am so happy that my experience has been able to help motivate you! :) That is really fantastic to hear, actually. So glad to have you here with us...cannot wait to keep up with your progress!

Katie - Hah it feels great! Feels like it happened so fast for me...about a month which is about right. It just feels good to finally be seeing some progress. You are sooo close yourself! You will hit it in no time, I know it!

Justina - Oh man my new thing might be working out immediately after work. It makes me feel soo much better. I don't think there will ever be a morning now where I don't juice. If for some reason I can't I just might cry because it gets me going on such a peak for the day. I'm addicted to it, hah! My day was much better, thank you :)

So as I mentioned, my day was tons better today. Work went really smoothly...I actually enjoyed it! I guess we all have those frustrating days. Hopefully no more anytime soon...haha! But exercise really did help!

For dinner I think I might try to do quinoa with roasted garlic, tomatoes, and spinach. I enjoyed my quinoa salad so much the other day I want another one! Also my new thing is incorporating *hot* elements into my meals. The hot sauce in the black bean burgers added such flavor...I am thinking the red pepper in the salad may do the same.

Scale remained at 153 today, thought it was flashing all the way down to 149 for me. I think my scale is trying to motivate me to keep going...almost there...hah! I want to be in the 140s sooo badly. Being there will do a lot for my mental state, I think. I am really short (not even 5'1") so 150s may not sound like tons but I am technically overweight. I think my magic number to no longer be overweight is 132...haven't weighed that little since high school! Hah. :) Can't wait to get back there.

Hope you have all had a wonderful Wednesday!

Almost the weekend!

Edit: Forgot to mention that I got chia seeds for the first time ever when I went shopping today. Anyone have any experiences with them? I've heard such great things so why not try them out? :)

Hey Camila- I love chia seeds! I actually baked with them! Food babe has some dessert ideas with chia too - check out her website....let me find the recipe I used and I sent it your way.

Justina - Yay I am glad I made a good choice! I will have to check her site out, for sure!

I am including a pic of my dinner because it is just so delicious!

Quinoa with roasted garlic, spinach, and tomatoes! Delicious!

Edit: Hah sorry the camera on my phone is not great!

I feel you on the anxiousness about being down in the next ten bracket. I'm soooooo ready for the 250s. Glad your day was better today.

Dinner looked awesome! Yum. I thought I saw some crumbled feta in there...

I was going to use chia seeds, as I read about health benefits and also read that they expand after eating, which helps stave off hunger pangs. But I really haven't had a problem with being hungry, so I never started them.

Good job, Camila!

Your food looks yummy...I really wish I could get into quinoa...I have it every week - but I am not a big fan...
I have but that black bean burger recipe on my menu - coming up next week - but instead of breadcrumbs I'll use rolled oats...hmmm - i read the the reviews - some people used it - fingers crossed it comes out ok.

Thank you Cory :) We can get there!

Don, you caught me! Haha it was delicious! I'm really interested in the chia seeds, at least to see what all the fuss is about!

Justina - I heard about the rolled oats replacement! I hope that you enjoy the recipe :) I can't wait to make another bat h! For some reason I did not think I would like quinoa at first but I usually make it I. Chicken broth instead of water...seems to add good flavor!

Sorry I didn't write last night....my night was crazy busy and I was kind f bad with food. I had a large quesadilla...thought I would be up for sure this AM...nope! I also feel like in retaining water so hopefully I get rid of it before weigh in tomorrow!

Breakfast was juice - kale, broccoli, celery, carrot, apple, lemon....was delicious! Now to get my water and exercise in! Ill be back this evening to catch up on all of your journals!

Happy Friday...woohoo!!!!

Food looks delicious in the pic- and quality seemed fine to me :) I also had a quesidilla yesterday which I am regretting- I made a healthy version, but im still facing another gain today :p maybe too much cheese yesterday?

Do you use a juicer to make your juice? Or blender?

Thanks, Don! Wish I had seen your encouraging post before I reached for the chocolate....:banghead:

Katie - Thanks! Yes...I used a juicer for my juice. Once I get my weight down a little more I may try to use the blender for some stuff. Juicer is easier for me though as far as prep and clean up. Love my juices!

So today was...merr ehhh errmmm. Work is crazy. No other way to put it. I spent all day running around the office like a chicken with my head cut off. Probably lost some calories there. Oh and the first time I looked at my clock...it was 4pm, time to come home! All I had for breakfast was my juice...had meetings in the AM, then all through the lunch hours, then the afternoon. Too many meetings! Jeeze.

Basically, I didn't have a chance to eat. I'm not saying oops, I forgot...I am saying there was no time. It was ridiculous. My day also came together sort of as-it-happened...so I did not plan ahead to bring a granola bar or something. Gosh darn it.

So..I get home...and I'm like ooohhh chocolate covered fruit yum...then I made some beef barley soup (only 200 calories) but had rice crackers on the side. LOTS of rice crackers.

As I type this out I am getting more annoyed with my lack of willpower. Thus...I will be doing lots of intense cardio tonight. Too cold out to go jog outside, so inside I shall stay. The back part of my knee has been bugging me. It sort of went numb the other day when I went jogging, then tingly. That went away but now it is just a dull soreness. Hoping I just overworked it a bit instead of screwing something up.

Edit: I just did really intense hour of cardio. I'd like to at least do another 30 min but maybe an hour before the day is done. Probably one of the most intense workout I've had over the past month. Still feel stupid for eating all that chocolate and those crackers before...but not as bad now...hah!

My dinner will be some quinoa spinach salad...thankfully my water is great today. Almost done with that.

Have a great weekend, everyone!!

Hey you, reading your thread reminds me how hectic the life of a project manager is. I put on tons of weight on the job! I honestly non-stop snacked - as you say you sometimes do not have time to eat. At some point I had 5 projects on -pretty intense!!!!
So better be prepared with good snacks!!!
Well done for doing the cardio in the end of the day though!! Sets off the calories & the stress..btw choco covered fruit doesn't sound too bad...
btw - I ll use vegetable stock instead of water - that's what i have in the cupboard :)

Justina - Yes! I have to figure out my new lifestyle lol. Running from meeting to meeting is not conducive to healthy eating, but I resolve to make it work. And chocolate covered fruit isn't *too* bad unless you eat half the bag :banghead: P.S. I am going to make some more quinoa patties today or tomorrow. With sundried tomatoes! Yum!

Heh so weigh in day was okay. I am down .5 lbs overall. I am actually okay with that since seeing such a big loss last week. The scale could not decide between 152 and 153 so hopefully that means I am right on the verge, or something!

As a mini reward for losing 10 pounds so far, I went to the salon and chopped off 6 inches of my hair and got it highlighted :) I love it...I''ve always had decently 'long' hair so it is pretty refreshing. (Also, I won a manicure and the haircut was free with the color...my lucky day!)

Anyways, got a lot of work to do on my water & exercise today...but I will get it done!

Have a great Saturday, everyone!

~Camila~

Nothing like going to the hairdressers'!! It just makes you feel awesome about yourself!! So cool that you won the manicure & free haircut!! Give me the address - LOL!
I desperately need to go to - I keep postponing it - maybe this week. My hair superlong - need to cut the split ends - and make it a bit shorter.
I hope you are having a good day!

Justina - I know exactly what you mean. I hate going too long not getting my hair cut. My hair was pretty long, and it is really thick. I thought I might hate a much shorter length at first, but the girl did sooo wonderful. Best haircut ever, I think. It is so fun to play with, hah! I spent 4.5 hours there, though. It is a school so things take a bit longer, lol...but so much cheaper and just as awesome.

Well, I will let today be a lesson. Now that I've changed my lifestyle, there's really no going back. After the salon today, I was starving, and decided to go to Subway. Haven't been there in a long time...just got a 6" ham sub. I was pretty starving so did not even mind it not being the "cleanest" food option...

First of all, I could not even finish the darn thing. I got that sick "Oh my God I ate way too much," feeling. But then I was like it is a small 6" sub...don't waste it, finish it. Ugh. I had two small pieces of chocolate a little later on...and then I got a seriously bad migraine. I've been in bed all day now...no exercise :( Got my water points, and did force myself to do sit-ups/drank no calories sooo, I did manage some points today! Don't think I really ate too many calories since that's all I ate. Migraines make me want to hide away in a dark room.

I'm kind of glad today happened though...now I cannot wait to wake up tomorrow and make my juice and eat something super duper healthy. While I was laying in bed, I kept thinking to myself "A month from now...you could be down to 143 lbs..." and that was a really exciting thought! I am so ready to kick it into even higher gear.

And now of course at 9:15pm, once I put on some loud music, I start to feel a little better. :ack2: Oh well, tomorrow is a new day!

P.S. - Tried my Skinny Jean Skirt on today...I barely had to 'suck in' at all to get it on. What an awesome feeling! :)

~Camila~

Going to the hairdresser is like renewing YOU - always feeling like a million dollars afterwards! I found in the past if I don't have chocolate for a while and then have it gives me instant migraine - dark room, no noise, the whole works!

Enjoy the skirt! :)

Mands - I so agree! I think it has really re-motivated me! I was thinking the same thing about the chocolate...I think I'v learned now not to eat as much...yikes! That was no fun!

Well, Have done all of my exercise for the challenge today...just need to finish up my water.

Of course today *after* the weigh-in the scale is down to 152! Hah...head start on this week, I guess? Either way it felt great to see a loss! Getting soooo close to being out of the 150s!

Hope you all have a great Sunday!

EDIT: Had to share...Went shopping at Victoria Secret this afternoon. I tried on a pretty top just for fun...was feeling rebellious so I grabbed a medium instead of a large. Went to try it on...it was huge! I tried on a small and that fit...but was even a bit loose itself. So obviously I bought the shirt, lol. How could I resist that? Seriously...a small!
