Byebye Big Bum!

I'm just popping in the say HI!!! I hope the rest of your vacation was as enjoyable as the first part. We all need those once in a while - then we can be all invigorated and ready to go when we get back to 'the real world'!

I've never run on sand before, but I imagine it was similar to how I felt after running thru ankle deep cow poo this last weekend - boy did my legs hurt! Also, it's kind of hard to run with knee high rubber boots on. I think I'd MUCH rather be running on the sand with you any day!!!!

I've been MIA for a while - so just stopping by to check on you. How are you doing?

I miss a lot of my old WLF friends - many of them seem to have disappeared.

Hope you are doing well!

Weyheyhey!
I can't believe I've been gone sooooo long - sorry folks. Work has been madness. Utter utter madness. Although very very cool. Got a stonking rating (top 5 at my grade in the north in our country) and a nice bonus. Told I was being fastracked for promotion and OMG, Mr X's firm (unbeknowst to him yet) have offered me a secondment next year.....I'd be going in at the grade above him (!!!) which is ridiculous as he has like 20 years more experience than me. Now I have to convince him that I can offer something new on his cases when we are on the same side so he calls me in as a troubleshooter. I am SO excited about that though. I'll be the other end of the country to his office but expected to travel all over the UK troubleshooting. My ideal role! The nicest thing is that the central panel asked Mr X's boss what I was like and the response was a glowing reference! So maybe he does know already...

What else. Weight loss has not been good. Reverse in fact. I estimate I am around 185lbs at the moment. Vending machine lunch and dinner has not helped, nor have I had time to do any running in the last month. Prior to that, I was doing quite well and ran my first 10km race in May - it took me 1 hr 30 mins (SLOWMO or what>!>!) but I was pleased as a) I got round it and b) my 5km time is like 48 mins so I did it faster than twice what I'd run 5km in...a new personal best!

However, I am now back on track as of today. My work clothes that I was so proud to be fitting in are getting a little bit too tight and I have been getting a pouchy stomach back again - gone back to a size 16 rather than a 14-16 I reakon (UK). So. back on here posting daily. Recording calories. And...I'm goign to try and run 5km every couple of days.

As you may have guessed I have a number of incentives - going on hols for most of August so want to look good in tankini. Got a ball at the end of July so would like to looking smoking in a dress. The long term game plan of being a size 10-12 by the time I go on secondment next year. But, most of all, hadn't spoken to Mr X for 2 months (TWO WHOLE MONTHS) and I called him yesterday...he was very pleased to hear from me, said he thought I'd dropped off the face of the earth (so had actually noticed my weekly calls had ceased!) but that his boss had told him I was very very busy, and agreed straight away to come into the city to meet me for a coffee - didn't even ask why. He wanted to do it next week....keen....but I can't fit it in for 3 weeks, so that gives me 21 days to lose 4lbs per week = 12lbs. I want to look H-O-T rather than just sweaty!!!! Was looking around for a bit of a motivational kick and here it is!

Today's food:
1 1/2 slices of toast with spread - 150 cals
Strawberries - 100 cals
Toasted flatbread, cheese and red onion - 150+200+30 = 380
2 cups of tea - 30 cals
Snack - 3 slices of roast beef - 147 cals
Weight loss beef and potatos meal - 200 cals
Small chicken fillet, white bun, small portion of chips - 200+250+300 = 750 (at a concert so tried to be good...no alcohol though!)

Total - 1757

Today! A new day! Day 1 of 20 till I meet Mr X.

30 mins on Xbox The Biggest Loser...quite a workout although only burned 122 calories and am horrified by the body outline that the kinnect picks up!

Weighed myself today as well - part of the new "phase"!! 190lbs so worse than I thought.

Food (updated for the whole day):
2 large glasses of water
3 cups of tea - 45 cals
1/2 bagel with tiny bit of spread and 20g of pate - 116+25+60= 201
1 bagel with spread and 40g of pate = 402
1/2 pack of museli snacks = 49
small grilled lamb steak (no fat) = 170
peas/carrots/asparagus/beans/brocolli = 10 +35 + 13 + 20 + 56 = 134
Blue slushpuppie frozen drink - 220
Small bowl of homemade fruit salad = 105

Total so far - 1326

And I've remembered to take my vitamins - determined to get clear skin and be healthy as I am working so hard that I seem to get ill every couple of weeks.

Going swimming after lunch time, will be trapsing around town with my daughter later on today, might try a run this evening and have bought a new steamer for healthy meals rather than relying on frozen weight loss ready meals so much.

Ok...cheerio until later!

So glad you're back :) Have been missing your posts. Work is crazy for me too so not posting as much as I'd like but will keep on checking your diary! Glad you're okay, lovely :D

Hey Sunflower - yeah lots of the old faces haven't checked in for a long time I see! I might have to start a new diary...I know it can seem initimidating to others to dip into a diary that's 63 pages long and I need support/feedback to keep me on the straight and narrow!

Congrats on the 10K! That is awesome and one of my goals as well. I didn't mind reading the 63 pages - I looked forward to it like a good book! I will start following you on your new thread. You are like a celebrity in my little world! Thanks for the motivation! :)
