Byebye Big Bum!

Jjjjay my lil sailor you! Those sails are huge!!!! No wonder you had a good workout! Awesome!

Thanks so much for the visuals....very impressive!

As for Mr. X.... as they say in hockey..."If ya don't shoot, you'll never score!"
So think positive, and give him yer best shot. If its meant to be, it'll be.

(Then cross check him into the boards if all else fails!):smilielol5:

Have a great weekend and thanks again for the pics.

Take care!

I'm definitely too critical of myself in photographs - its so rare that I see one and think "ooh I look good". I think it comes with SO many years of being worried about how you look in clothes and feeling fat that its difficult not to just be in that mindset.

Flumes - the sails are just immense aren't they? Every 20 mins or so we took the front one (the jib) down and put up what's called a spinnaker which is like a huge billowing kite to catch the wind in a certain direction...then when we turned round again, we'd take the spinnaker down and put the jib back up - it was a constant workout on the arms! The best fun I've had for years though. The skipper's wife (first mate I guess) was sayign that I did really well - was no hassle and knew what I was doing which was a nice compliment - looks like the theory from sailign little 'uns paid off! And that I could come and crew with them anytime!! They are a serious racing yacht (win lots of races) so the way it works is that the crew (18 per race) pay £200-300 each for say a weekends racing or more for the longer races to cover food/board etc... but they will only take people that are skilled or that they think have potential to train up quickly as obviously they want to win as many races as possible....so I might start saving to do a few little races with them! I think it could turn out to be an addictive hobby!

So, nice suprise this morning, stepped on the scales and was 187.6....only 0.4lbs lost in the last week but I have been yo-yoing up and down to 189/190lbs so I'm just happy to back to losing weight again. Goign to go for a run this morning before the world wakes up (its 6am ish here). I've missed running in the last week or so - really want to get back to it so I don't fall out of the habit!

I have a black tie ball tonight with work so having to dig out an old dress that fits (i.e. a really old one....from 10 years or so back) - I didn't have time to go shopping for a new one this week with everything that was going on but I have some lovely dresses hidden somewhere...Only problem is that I am covered in nasty looking bruises from sailing last weekend - seriously big purple ones on my upper arms...I look like I've been battered and beaten!!! LOL! Glamerous....not!

As for Mr X, I was thinking about it last night and I think things are fine. I probably just overcomplicate things trying to analyse stuff and so its easier just to go with the flow, meet for coffee and if we sit there chatting for hours, then we sit there chatting for hours...There's no need to organise anythign beyond that. Seriously, its no big deal and nothing to get worked up about - just nice that we are both takign the time and effort to meet given our tremendously busy diaries!

Congrats on starting to go down in weight again. :)
200-300 isn't so bad for a weekend away and with the added bonus that you get fitter with it. My arms are so weak that I don't think I would ever be able to do that. That's one thing I want to start working on at the gym. My legs on the other hand are really solid.
Have a great time at your ball. I'm sure you'll stun them all with your new figure and what will seem like a new dress as it's so long since you wore it. :)

Thanks Eyck! (where on earth did your name come from?!?!) LOL!

Just got back from a 6km run...feeling goooooood. Its them endophins kicking in again - such a buzz after running.

My arms are strong but...wobbly!! When I was rock climbing regularly i had such lovely toned upper arms...big but toned...now they just wobble! I agre £200-300 doesn't seem like a huge amoutn when it covers a bunk on ship (luxury accomodation...not!!) and all your meals.

I'm sort of looking forward to the ball tonight - I certainly feel less worried about how I look than the previous ones...just going to "throw on a dress" and after all this sailing, my upper arms/shoulders are quite tanned so I'm less concerned about them than usual.

My user name is just my surname. I'm not used to forums so just signed up with my name as I do on e.mail addresses etc and now wish that I had given myself a more fun name.
Wow 6km. I'll get there sometime this year :D
My arms are weak and wobbly so you beat me on that as well :) but that's another thing I plan to change.
It's amazing how a bit of tan makes the skin look so much nicer. I really must get my belly out in the garden as it looks all white and yucky.
Enjoy your weekend.

Mornin' Jjjay Jjjay!

Have a great time at the ball tonite. I bet you will look stunning! Or as we say in Canada "Woop Woop!" <not many black tie affairs here obviously! lol>

Take care and have a fabulous evening!

Stunning - stun·ning (stnng)adj.1. Causing or capable of causing emotional shock or loss of consciousness.
2. Of a strikingly attractive appearance.

I love your journel, jjjay :) Well done on the 0.4 loss..A loss is still a loss! I've ground to a halt recently too so can def relate. Need to get back to the gym when work allows me longer than an hour off ;) have a great weekend mate x

Awww thanks Flumes. :blush5: hehe we think of Canadians as being most sophisticated and cultured...maybe not then!!!

I had a great time - and loads of people complimented me on the dress I was wearing and said I looked really great. The nicest thing for me was that I jumped straight on the dance floor with all my friends and danced the night away (previously I would have felt a bit too self-conscious until I'd got a bit drunker and not cared). Even better, the food was kind of "novelle cuisine sized portions" and when they served the main course (baked chicken breast with cream sauce), they had forgotten to put the sauce on my friend's plate so I swopped with her!

Food:

Yesterday:
Bowl of cereal and milk - 220 cals
Chicken goujons and BBQ sauce, 1/2 pack of fries - 700 cals
2 glasses of wine - 300 cals
Small crayfish and prawn salad - 100 cals
Grilled chicken (like 1/2 a breast) and plain vegetables - 300 cals
Fruit salad (just plain old fruit!!) - 100 cals

Total - 1720

Today:
cheese and tomato toasted sandwich - 360 cals
latte coffee - 150 cals
Salmon and prawn salad with 1/2 slice of brown bread, fruit and no dressing - 500 cals
3 cups of tea - 30 cals
100 cals of red liquorice - 100 cals
Low fat/low cal chicken chow mein meal - 367

Total - 1507

What else? Went shopping on the way back from the city and bought a new hiking waterproof jacket....size uk 14 !! WOOOHOO!!! Seems I am a 16-14 after all now! I have to throw out the next lot of clothes as the ones that were still ok last time I had a clear out (what like 4-6 weeks ago?!?!) are now looking baggy and saggy...my jeans look so unfashionable!!

Awww thanks Flumes. :blush5: hehe we think of Canadians as being most sophisticated and cultured...maybe not then!!!

Cultured maybe. Sophisticated?? Only if you think holding on to a beer in each hand while being able to catcall the waitress. lol

Way to go at the ball! I bet you were the jawdropper! <a good thing>

I'm sooo happy for ya kid!!! You deserve every compliment you got (AND GET!!) <insert microsoft sound file catcall.mp3 here>

Have a great day....(I'm sneaking in the world cup here at work! :reddevil:)

Sounds like you had a blast at the ball! I'm jealous of your strong arms. I broke my left arm pretty badly last fall and I'm still trying to recover my upper body and arm strength from having to sit around healing all winter. Right now I have Australian muscles - the hump in my arm goes 'down under'!

Have a great week!

Tig, I have strong arms in that I can "DO" stuff with them i.e. pull myself up or hoist a sail! But they are pretty wobbly down south too!! That's generally the bit that stops me getting in a size smaller and is stubbornly refusing to get any smaller than 14 inches...BAH.

I'm still bouncing up and down from 187 - 190 which is a bit demotivating. I know from the clothes that things are happening but the scales just aren't keeping up! I was hoping to be in the region of 185 by this week but it ain't happening!

Aims for this week:
1) drink at least 10 cups of water each day at work
2) under 1400 cals
3) no chocolate/sweet stuff/treats
4) run on monday night, sailing on weds night, run on thursday night
5) bed before 11pm each night
6) crunches every day!

:D Had a great time Eyck! Someone told me today that I was a great dancer hahahahah that's a new one!! I was throwing myself about with confidence with my less-wobbly figure but I would have just called that exuberant!!

Food today:
Toasted multigrain bagel with low fat spread - 240 cals
2 cups of tea - 20 cals
1 cookie (birthday treats at work again..>GAH) - 350 cals (??!)
Box of strawberries - 100 cals
Low cal ham sandwich - 285 cals
WW meal chicken lasagna - 320 cals
100 cals of liquorice - 100 cals
3 little potatos - 50 cals
potato snacks - 97 cals

Total - 1562

8 glasses of water...so far...

Next sale VIP invite came through today so I'm going through the catalogues looking at all the lovely stuff - not ordering anything over size 16 and going to order in a fair few things in 14 for me to fit into...as I was SO glad I did this with size 16 in the xmas sale, otherwise I'd have nothing to wear right now!

Just come back from a 6.4km run in 57mins...not the fastest but boy do I live in a town with a lot of hills!! Feeling hot and sweaty and tingly but GOOOOOD. Bit shakey though so I had a pack of potato snacks when I got in to try and fill the gap. Its pushed me over calories a bit but I figure an hour of running has to be good for something...

Just had to say before I go to work...Ooooh oooooh 3 more days until lunch with X

I can't remember anything he said to me last friday - I was so tired that my brain just wasn't working. I'm sure he was telling me about his sail boat and we were discussing what I should buy but I'm going to have to ask him to repeat it all!

Hovering at 188 this morning..not too bad but still nothign coming off...I thought the run last night might have helped...oh well, have to do another one today or tomorrow!

Yes!!! :D!! I'm liking the list of goals there!! Mine sounds something similar! :) I've been doing this crunches video from Youtube that bring it niceley and effectively "8 min abs". " Try it out! :) You might like it.

You are doing an awesome job!! I love your possitive attitude, that is so valuable when going through this journey of weightloss.

Thanks guys :D

Ok day today...bit rainy so no running or anything for me tonight - might try Alta's ab vid or get on the exercise bike in front of The Big Loser or something...or both!!

Food:
Brown bread beef and tomato sandwich for brekkie - 286 cals
Small box of strawberries - 70 cals
Cup cake - 250 cals
Chicken pho soup - 330 cals
Low cal/low fat chicken sizzler meal with 1 tortilla - 270 + 118 = 388 cals
4 cups of tea - 40 cals
2 jacobs crackers - 70 cals

Total - 1434 AND NO MORE FOOD TONIGHT! I have laid down the law!! No late night snacking!

5 cups of water today so not too bad - will try and drink another pint or two before bed. My size 16 (UK) trousers are even a bit baggy around the waist and thighs (and I only bought them the other day) so I might order some size 14s in the next sale as well.

But best of all...my spots have pretty much all cleared up - I think its a combination of healthier diet, a bit of sun (people keep saying I look pretty tanned - its from all the sailing!) and cleansing every night, putting on this Dermologica overnight clearing gel (expensive but OMG worth every penny!) and then a foaming face wash in teh morning with a couple of clarins creams underneath my makeup. No new spots. Old ones fading fast. I am SO happy. We'll see what happens next week when ToM comes up but usually I am starting to get spots coming through by this time in the month in preparation for a real spotty week next week.

Not a bad day today except splurged a bit at lunch time.

Food:
beef and onion sandwich - 286 cals
2 cups of tea - 20 cals
1 small box of strawberries - 70 cals
1 small ranch burger and small portion of homemade chips - 700 cals? (it was a gourmet burger "lunch sized" portion and no mayo or sauce)
Couple of spoonfuls of my daughter's pasta and meatballs - 200 cals
low cal/low fat moussaka meal - 230 cals

Total - 1506

I'm resigned to not dipping under 187 this week in time for my meeting on Friday but I've lost 1/2 stone since the last meeting so feeling pretty good.

Next VIP online sale was tonight so ordered some new suits and jeans and stuff in size 16 and size 14 (UK) - going to have great fun trying it all on and working on fitting into the size 14 stuff one day soon! Spent a small fortune but I'll probably send at least half of it back.

I really fancied a run tonight but we had tropical rainstorms so no go on that one...might get up early and try and do it tomorrow. Got shed loads of work to do though so might have to just get into the office early - trying to clear my desk a bit so that I can swan off on Friday to meet Mr X without being time pressured at all!

Not much to report really....my diary is quite repetative at the moment. Once this week is out of the way, I have 3 weeks until i go holiday for a big weight loss push so might have somethign to report in terms of lbs dropping....I've been stuck at the high end of the 180s for ages.

Way to go on having some wiggle room in your size 16's!! :D! Nice!!! The small details matter!! I love motivational clothing too that is smaller than what you are!! That's the BEST way ever to stay motivated, because you already BOUGHT IT!!! It's almost like affirming to yourself...I WILL GET THERE!

Lucky you on spending $$$ a small little fortune on clothes!! Oh how I loveeeee shopping!! :drool5:!! It feels sooooo good to have new clothes to try on and feel good about!! They have no judgments attached to them about the old you or the new you or nothing!! Just FRESH and CLEAN! :D!

Enjoy them!! Take some pics for us!! I want to see you little hot mama!! :D!!!
