Burlesque Babe

Holding thumbs that your weigh in is positive and the results of your horse. He probably misses you just as much.

As for my horse, it was good news. The vet thought his leg was healed! I am cleared to start riding again, lightly at first and working him up to harder work. So I tacked him up, he stood calmly for me to get on... then promptly bucked me off. Dumb pony with too much energy. Remounted, had a friend lead him around the arena till he found his brain, then we were fine for the rest of the ride. Gonna make a game plan for the next few rides till he remembers what riding is all about so I don't end up black and blue.

Went and watched the horse show after my vet appointment. I ate a bit there but (if my guesstimates on the food is correct) I will be finishing up about 15 calories over my 1800 calories.

Congrat's on the good-news on your horse... & the rascal bucked U off... like he's saying - "see I'm totally fine lady...let's get going ! .. .... lol....

woo hoo on hitting mini-goal !! ... U are past 1/2way to your goal Mystic... cruisin' speed now ...

Normally I frown on 'normal' but in this case I'll make an exception: congrats on being normal!

Thanks guys.
Boy am I stiff today from falling off. Same stiffness you get from working out, which makes me think. If I fall off 3 times a week (landing on different body parts each time) would that actually cause my muscles to get stronger? Haha. Just like lifting weights my body has to repair my muscles from falling and muscles get stronger when they repair. I'm gonna say I built muscle from my fall, haha, though I think I will refrain from building muscle by falling in the future when possible.
Actually did well today with cals (I actually ended up UNDER my goal yesterday). Ate a chocolate bar and poutine at the horse show but gonna finish up about 20 cals over my 1800 cal limit.

Whooohoooo for your horse being healthy & fit to ride again. Oh you made me laugh with the falling off 3 times a week......if only hey?

Great job on another mini-goal and your "normal" status!!

Thank guys! I am really happy with how I did this weekend! I was at the show all weekend and yet stayed right around my calories!!! My scale is still up a bit due to the sodium but that's fine.
My horse has been much better since his first ride. However I do think he's still not feeling quite right. It's very mild but I think it's there. Gonna make sure to take it really slow till he's feeling 100%

Good work on keeping calories in-check at the show all weekend- great resisting temptation- chosing wisely!

wise to take-it-easy for a while with your horse - let him get his strength and confidence back in place ...

have a good one Mystic,

cheers, Maryann

Yay for all your good days!!! I'm glad your horse is getting there too, I get so stressed out when any of my animals (or honestly, any animal) is suffering!! Does my head in. They don't always seem to understand you're trying to help them or comfort them. Hope all is well!!

How funny that we just talked about sodium ...weight ..water..
I just started my course (human physiology) and the very first lecture was about what happens when we eat too much salt:it makes you wanna drink more water - there has to be an equilibrium - perfect proportion of salt - so to balance it out - it will keep the water - extracellular fluids remain high.... your weight doesn't change/goes up a bit.

Thanks guys.
My horse seemed to feel much better today, which made me very happy. I wonder if he knee just needed a few days to loosen up a little bit. Hoping he feels as good or better tomorrow!
Bad news is that I got a dang speeding ticket on my way to the barn! My first time EVER getting pulled over and the dude can't give me a break!! Bah!! I can't really complain, I WAS speeding, if I hadn't been speeding he wouldn't have pulled me over. It still sucks though. Haha. 124 bucks down the drain.

Doing well on cals today. I had to guess a bit on my dinner cals but I think I gave myself enough for that. Under cals if my guess is correct. I am up from the weekend sodium but hoping it drops off fast.

Hey sorry about the speeding ticket. It sucks. We got pulled over the other week for not coming to complete stop (just a rolling stop) at a STOP sign. BTW it was the middle of nowhere - no cars in miles LOL.

Well done on your cals!!

Hey Mystic - good work on the calories, sorry 'bout the ticket...that's life eh...

& I'm sur that water-weight will be gone quick... :smash:

Thanks guys.
The water weight is already coming off. I am hoping to have it all gone by tomorrow then I have a couple days left to get really weightloss numbers.
Ug, another frustrating day after my ticket yesterday. Was at the barn and went to reach further back in my tack locker than I have in a while to find something, and what I found was MOLD, lots and lots of mold. Gross! So had to spend a lot of time cleaning. Sickness.
However did great calorie wise. Had a LOT of chocolate today haha. Had a bar and a half of a Caramilk bar, a creme egg, and a few mini kinder bars. Not something I want to do everyday but since it fit in my calories, why not sometimes! Under calories for the day.

Oh no!! I had mold once in Spain - it was cold (5 C) and very rainy (for Southern Spain anyway) & there was no heating...
Well done for cleaning it - you can defo claim some chocolate credits for that :p
