Bulking

Hey,

Im pissed at my resulst in my six pack, not impressing me. And i know all of u would prob recomend me bulk coz im kinda scrawny, but i have no idea! how the hell do u bulk? what foods, how much, when? what stuff can u eat? whats ur exercises suposed to be like? how long is a good bulk? How intense? what type of exercises? Im clueless

I think ill go crazy before i even get into the bulk from the fat i put on, i wouldnt be able to bear it!

And finally once uve bulked, what about cutting, isint it extra hard to get rid of that flab after a bulk? What do you do?

Oh geez man.. 3500 Kcal a day, 1gm protein/lb, nighttime casein shakes. Lift ~5 days a week. lol.. there is no 'set' way to bulk. Just eat more, that's the general idea. Your routine should be about the same, you want to reach failure around your 10th to 12th rep on just about every exercise. Also stick with big compound movements, eg. Squats, Deads, Presses, Rows..

Now go to bed.. lol

And again, whats a good amount of time for a bulk?

Thanx, for those of you who could be bothered to read it, this is my new bulking diet! Ive gone form 1700 cals per day, to 2300, take a look and tell me what you think?
 
My gym teacher at school says you shouldn't be in the weights room until you've started your growth spurt (probably because you'll have more testosterone by this time) so maybe you shouldn't be bulking yet.
 
You are 14. DOnt sit there and try to bulk at all yet. That kids gym teacher is right. Buddy, you need to just keep on eating healthy, do moderate ya know healthy lifting. Nothing HEAVY. Many reps and cardio is the best you can do buddy. Once you hit those growth spurts and are mainly done GROWING is when you want to hit the gym hard and go big. You can lift weights, just dont over do anything. Do easy stuff many reps thats good for you. keep it up. And eat 2200+ cal always. You are a guy. Men need more. But work out as such.
 
ha, right, well all my reps are in the 10-12 range...thats when i hit failure; on the first set, then 2nd i can usualy do about 9 and on the 3rd i can do about 7. That goes for just about all upper body exercises.

So u guys reckon 20 reps good? coz if it is ill go do that then and stop lifting heavy.

Oh and one more thing, i dont like to eat alot of calories (except in this case when i MIGHT be bulking) because i have a crap metabolism (despite eating 5-6 meals a day) coz i screwed it up about a year back and if i eat anything but clean for even a day, i gain bodyfat and my abs definition goes a fair bit.
 
Diet looks good Tim, what you are doing for exercises is fine as well. Just keep maxing out your sets, training with body weight, and you will get some nice results. What people mean when they say don't train heavy, is not to try and do any maximal lifts, or anything like that. Its ok to do bench press and squats and all that fun stuff, just try to keep the weight light enough that you can do it around 10x on your first set, and as you get stronger, try not to exceed lifting your body weight.
 
cool, nice to hear something with my diet and exercise is going good for once :D

I think im gonna cut out the cottage cheese before bed coz it gives me gas pains and stomach pains...
 
Tim man. If I were you, I would eventually shoot for higher calorie intake such as 2500-2700 in the near future. Do it gradually. Try to get to a weight around 130 in the next 9-10 months. Just a rough estimate but you could go somewhere in the ballpark.
 
Ahh its only been like 3 or 4 days ive been on the 'bulk' and my six pack is slowly fading away and im getting depressed :( but i keep reminding myself, i could have big arms and a big chest....but it still dont do anything...

I dont think im gonna be able to keep this up much longer :eek: i might have to start cutting again!
 
dont' worry Tim just keep at it.if you're doing at least bodyweight exercises and eating a lot, you'll grow perfectly. Plus, you'll have big arms instead of that 6 pack, and that's good cuz that's what the ladies like lol
