Everyone- feel free to steal and use my That Which Gives Purpose bit above I stole part of it myself and modified to fit my needs. Mi motivational bit, su motivational bit.

I took a day off of exercise yesterday since I had a full day at work and a school board meeting last night and I had done 6 out of 7 days of strenuous (for me) bike rides. Plan on a good ride tonight. Kids and the wife are off at church camp so dont have anything else to do. I lowered my calorie intake down to 1400 yesterday since I wasnt exercising.

I am starting my 7th week so I am at the phase where I just gotta keep going. I can say I have a pretty good start. I have some ok preliminary results, but I must string several more weeks together before I can claim any real meaningful results.

All work and no play makes Brawny a dull (but skinny) boy!

I'm going to work out on the bike tomorrow as well--I'm actually quite enjoying it now..Makes me want to buy an actual bike and do a "real" ride.

Have a good rest of week lovely xx

Just rode 15.09 miles in 56 minutes on ye ol bike
July total thus far-82 miles?..a good day

Not sure if this is anything to celebrate but I did my new BMI and I have moved from "morbidly obese" to just "obese"...not sure if that bmi is accurate because I do carry a lot of muscle under my flab but progress is progress.

I hate BMI.
I'm still considered "obese" (BMI 30.2, just checked).
I don't feel like that at all, I'm actually getting ripped (a bit) around my shoulders and arms. Still have the fat pouch off course, but obese? No, I resent that.
I don't calculate my BMI very often, makes me frustrated :cuss:

Hey Brawny,
Congratulations on moving a category on the BMI...I don't particularly like the BMI scale..then again, I don't particularly like any scale! It is a measure of success! I remember wheni made that move...I'm currently "overweight', but I'm closing in on "normal'. About 10 pounds to go to hit normal! I don't think I've ever been normal Keep up the good work!!
Sarah

Hey, who wants to be normal Sarah? Ha ha

Another small victory...ok so I had some free furniture donated to my school but all my maintenance guys are on mass vacation for the first two weeks of July. So I rent a uhaul and go to Dallas to get it. Well it was a truck full. They helped me load it with 5 guys but when I get back the only one there to help me was my young tech guy. Well I worked him into the ground. Load after load, up and down that truck ramp. There is absolutely no way I could have stood up to that seven weeks ago. But to be honest, I am worn out!

Good job and congratulations on that "small victory"...it sounds like you were the human forklift and got good exercise in the process. Good choice!

Be careful with techguys, they're not used to physical or manual labour, nor do they get out a lot :D
For you: excellent exercise

Yep the tech guy wanted back in his air conditioned room

Human Forklift...I like that Sarah! Maybe that will be my super hero name!

The short outline of this effort:
June 1-Realized I had gotten out of shape (bad) weighed in at 298. I had sworn never to be 300 again and was soooo close to that...got motivated...started diet and exercise
June 29- Went to Dr. weighed 284 at his office, had weighed 283 at home.
June 30- Weighed 287 at home. How the hell that happened I dont know. I had only eaten 2000 calories the previous day
July 1- Weighed 286 still dissappointing, set goals to lose 12lb in and ride bike 150 miles in July
July 7-284
July 8-283.4
July 9-283.4
July 10-283.4 Was getting pissed because my eating and exercise had been almost perfect
July 11- 281.0 Finally! Something had to give! Hope it wasnt all water from my sweaty truck unloading activity.

I think my lowest from 2009 was 277. I want to push on through that. If I reach my 12lb in July goal that will put me at 274....That would be sweet. Pass the salad please.

You are losing weight fast Brawny!
Making plans are a lot of motivation, could be I should draw a line and try to cling to it too.

Wow! Look at all the salad in here!...ha ha
Thank you for your encouragement my invisible friends (invisible but not insignificant).
I just got off the bike.....pumped out 16.11 mile and rode for an hour...7 weeks ago 20 minutes killed me....
He picks a celery stick up, pops puts it in his mouth like a celebratory cigar and strolls out...

Nice ride, Brawny! I started with 5-8 minute rides in the beginning and built some, but I seem to have stalled at 30-40 minute rides. OK, I will try to make a one hour ride in the coming days... in your honor.

Rode 12.16 July total so far-100.31 miles
I'm gonna smash that 150 mile goal!

Ok I am gonna report this even though it may not be real....279.8 this morning. Hesitate to claim it yet because I may see some bounce back but I do know that I am losing. Haven't seen 270s since 2009 and only briefly then

The music starts....I get by with a little help from my friends
