Sorry friends and lurkers. I have had two very busy days in the school business. Meetings day before yesterday and starting a construction project yesterday.
My report is a mixed bag.
I cant seem to get any traction. I have a good day and follow it with a bad day. I will not be weighing in daily...I weighed 280.4 one day then 283 the next then 280 the next. And the day before the decline was a day where I overate. I think twice weekly might be ok.
I am doing good today. Exercised this morning and hope to walk a bit in the good weather here this evening.
Last year my weight stopped moving so I gave up. here i am a year later doing it all over again. you got to push through these difficult times and keep focused. dont be like me looking back a year later thinking about where i could have been instead of where i actually am. the good thing is usually once it gets unstuck it can drop more then a few pounds quickly. so keep focused and dont give up.
Great to see you back and sounds like a busy couple days that you've punched.
Noticed you had set monthly goals a lot in the past, how about switching it up to weekly goals to get the ball rolling again? Also if I may suggest, make the weekly goal have zero to do with what the scale decides to report back. Have found that weekly goals let me break things into a small enough chunk that I can focus on what I need to get done in a specific day. Monthly goals still seem far off for me.
How about 3 bicycle workouts and three 45 minute walks or something along those lines?
Thats good goals. We have a pretty good weather outlook here in the lone star state so I bet I can get that in. Okay...challenge accepted. I start on Saturday so from Sat-next fri 3 (count em)45 minute walks and 3 bike sessions of at least 25 minutes.
One more goal...I gotta see the 270s on that damn new scale.
Lets all set a one week exercise goal. We need a little kick in the pants.
I will conquer space around me. - The Fixx, Saved By Zero
Take care of the exercise goals, start planning out those meals and snacks and let the weight take care of itself.
Will finish off my weekly goals from this week and then plan next weeks superset o' pain. Might see if I can wrap up last week's goals tonight and then try a Sat-Fri week for goals as well. Thinking lunges are going into the mix this time.
My excercise goal is to do at least 7 miles each week on the treadmill, that means I can go a mile a day or 7 miles in one day...but its got to be at the very least 7 miles. I'm starting out small. Also, can't wait to reach my 230's goal and reward myself with that recumbent bike, then I'll set new work out goals. Great goals though, they are not out of the world hard to acheive goals so you know you can manage them.
I agree with feelinggooder...and I accept the weekly goals challenge. This week (starting today ...since I've already exercised...I want to count it!) , I will run on the treadmill 7 k...that can be in any increment...but 7k total...so I did 2k this morning, so that leaves 5k to be done by next Saturday. Isn't much, but I intend to do that in addition to my elliptical! I also agree on the scale thing...it's just a number Brawny77..don't obsess over it...your clothes and belts will tell the tale true enough! Go for it!
New friend (rainy forrest)- thanks for stoppin by and yes I have a little bit of arm chair philosopher in me. Too bad they don't let me run this world. First thing I would do is declare cheeseburgers to be non-caloric
Old Friends- (All you other rowdy fat kids)- Cool on ya for setting those exercise goals. I have biked twice and walked once so far.
And.....since I am not obsessing about the # on the new scale.....279.4 (major relief) I thought the 270's were broken on that thing.
Okay lets get movin people! Gotta kick February on outta here!
Hey Brawny77!! Congratulations on hitting the 50 days milestone...claim your victory man!! And on top of that your "friend" the scale is moving in the right direction! Keep at it man, and good things will happen...not as fast as we want them to...but it will happen! Good job !!
Looks like you're making great progress on both the weekly goals and shaking those 270's loose. Great to see!
And a 50 day mark without junk food is a huge milestone as well and well deserving of a celebration (as long as said celebration doesn't include a huge pile of cheeseburgers)
