Brandy's Success Diary

I'm at about 1200 calories so far today. If I eat more I will have an apple or carrots or celery. Hell- I might have all 3! LOL. All that's left to make my day complete is my exercise. Which I will DEFINITELY get in. Not sure what I want to do yet though.

(Vita Bella is Latin for beautiful life) Its not really started yet. I need help thinking of ideas.

What types of sites do you wish you could find (or find more of) online? What types of websites are your favorite to go to?

Healthy eating today!

Breakfast was 2 medium sized apples. Lunch was 1/2 a bologna sandwich on whole wheat bread, with a baked potato and sour cream. I was thinking about how to make my meal healthier, so I didn't put any butter on the potato before I ate it, and I only used 2 slices of bologna and 1/2 sandwich instead of a whole one.

Nutrition for today so far:
746 calories
23.6 fat
604 sodium
121.6 carb
17.2 fiber
19.3 protein.

I'm not sure what to eat for the rest of the day...but it is GOING to be healthy. I don't care how bad my cravings are. Its just not worth it.

Goals for the rest of my day: Lots of veggies and some lean meat.

So I haven't had dinner yet. But I still have enough calories for it! :)

I went to Wendy's with Dan today during his lunch break. I'm proud to say that I did pretty good. I wanted a baconator with fries and sprite. WELL... instead I got myself a spicy chicken sandwich- nothing else! I brought a water bottle with me, and I said no to the fries. I also got no mayo, and no tomato (because I don't like tomato or mayo).

So instead of a meal that had 1450 calories (baconator with medium frie and sprite), 71 fat, 2290 sodium, 142 carbs, and 61 protein (okok, so thats a good amount of protein!! but everything else is CRAP!). I got just the chicken sandwich which was 400 calories, 13 fat, 1250 sodium (still a lot, I know.) 44 carbs, 3 fiber, and 27 protein!

Which brings me to these totals for the day:
1146 calories
36.6 fat
2101 sodium
165.6 carbs
20.2 fiber
46.3 protein.

I still have dinner to eat. and 1 hour of exercise when dan gets home from work!
 
michelle- thanks for stopping in. I am reasonable with my goals because if I don't I'll just be disappointed because I can't accomplish them. I love grapes. Red or green! Yummmmmm.

reluctantcabbie- thanks for stopping in, I can always use the extra support! I never thought of taking my bike to the canal! What a great idea! I used to live in wareham with my father and we used to go walking down there. It's beautiful, and pretty flat if I remember correctly. Thanks for that!! :D

Kim- I'm practicing my bike riding, I know HOW to ride the bike, I just need to build up stamina. I'll get there. I love riding...until my knees start burning. No pain no gain, your right. Pain is good. LOL.

Brandy, just a quick suggestion: I'm not sure how much riding you have typically done in the past, but, knees burning isn't usually a good thing. Quads, calves, etc. yes (work those muscles...yeah!). Generally speaking if your knees are hurting it is because your seat height isn't correct. If you feel it in the front, behind your knee caps, usually your seat is too low. If you feel it in teh back of your knee, your seat is too high and you may be hyperextending your leg on each pedal stroke.

I cycle because my knees DON'T hurt!! Anything else beats them up pretty good.
 
reluctantcabbie- thanks for sharing that information. The part that starts burning is the muscle above my knee(on top of my leg, toward my thigh) it isn't a pain pain, it's a muscle is being used pain... Is that even making sense? LOL. Should I worry?
 
I'm watching "the 750 pound man". It's good thing for me to watch and learn that it's worth spending time each day exercising. They have really good perspectives and advice. I feel like they have better advice for me about cravings and the need for exercise then dieticians. LOL. Tomorrow dan and I are going to take a healthy lunch and a blanket, walk to the park, and have a picnic and he might go fishing. Then we will walk back and go on a bike ride to make up the rest of my hour of exercise. It should be a good day.

Yes it makes sense, and no that's a good muscle to work!! Quads are nice big muscles that use lots of calories when they are working.

I was watching that, too. I was hoping he'd make the right changes and turn his life around--he was a likeable guy. It was too bad he choose food over life. Very sad.

Anyway, you are doing so well lately! :hurray:

I didn't get to walk to the park today. But we did something just as good. We drove to the park and ate lunch, then went on a 20 minute walk in the woods. Then I came back and went on a quick bike ride just to feel the wind. I'm going to go out again later too. I just wanted to go out for a little bit.

Today is going well so far!
 
Wait...sorry, I'm jumping in the middle of this....but the 750lb man died?! I watched that once, but never knew....

I don't know if there was more than one. But the one I saw was a guy who went into a nursinng home, and he couldn't even role over. Eventually he died.

No, I didn't see that. I flipped the channel at his funeral b/c it was too sad. I ended up watching South Park instead..lol. It was an episode all about Butters--my fav character. He's such a little sweetie--tugs at my maternal heartstrings. :D
 
I hate being sweaty. I'm disappointed in myself because I don't want to exercise being I hate being overheated. I'm lazy today, and I'm disappointed. Eating is going well though.

Hows nutrition going for ya??? have you had an exam yet??? when did classes start?
 
Hey korrie! I started nutrition class early September. I'm taking it online, no paper exams. Just assignments and projects. I'm learning a lot.
