Thanks moon! I can't wait to do the race!

I'm not starting the C25K today, and I'm not even sure about this week while we are on vacation. We are on top of a mountain, and the hills are waaaay too steep for me. Even walking for 15 minutes up those hills made me exhausted.

Food:
Breakfast- a bowl of Raisin Bran Crunch with 2% milk.
Snack- 80 calories of peanuts, 1 bottle of water
Lunch- Turkey sandwich with lettuce and cheese, 1 serving of chips, 1 bottle of water.

Dinner is sesame Ginger chicken breast. Yummy! Maybe I will get in another walk today. But I think the family is going to go out on a boat ride right now!
 
yeah those mountain steps should count twice! Certain doesn't seem to be a place to start a C25k program. Just enjoy it & I bet you will be surprised at how many steps you take today. Do you wear a pedometer?

I have tried to wear a pedometer before, and I just keep losing them within a day, because they fall off. LOL. I gave up on them for a while after I lost 5 in 1 week. Haha. Hell yeah! Those mountain steps should count twice!
 
that's awesome Brandy!! I am excited for you:) I got really motivated after I signed up. The C25K is really going well for me and I am sure you will kick butt:) I am even thinking of signing up for more 5ks and maybe even a 10K!! The walks up and down the mountains sound grueling! If you keep doing that you will be in good shape to start the program:)

Hey michelle! Thanks for stopping by! I hurt my back today, but it's just really messed up from sitting funny for too long. I hope it will be gone soon. I went on a hike in the woods for 91 minutes today. I wasn't too happy because my back hurt so bad. But it was a bit of exercise. We all went pretty slow because it was wet and slippery. But we still got decent exercise. That means for day 1/100 I got 1 hour and 45 minutes of exercise. :) if I had to estimate my calories for the day it would be between 1500 and 1600. I'm also pretty happy with that! There will be plenty more exercise to come this week. And when I get back there will be 10 weeks to master the C25K. I'm very proud to enter it, but there is also a $100 prize to whoever wins. One male, one female I think. I'll be excited to try. I hope tomorrow ends up being just as good, if not better than today. Danny has been such a great supporter. I'm lucky to have him. (*virtual hugs and kisses for danny*)
 
Good Morning. I'm definitely going to get something done today! Dan's mother wants to walk the Autobon. I could be spelling it completely wrong. LOL. I will do some research online about it. My back is still very sore, but not as bad as yesterday. I think I just pulled a muscle. I took 800mg of motrin a few minutes ago, I hope that will help. I am trying my best to eat healthy on this vacation. I've been doing decently so far. But yesterday I went overboard with the chips. But, I did stay within a reasonable calorie limit. :D I pray that Day 2/100 gets plenty of exercise, and some healthy foods.
 
Good luck today and stay strong. We just went on a road trip to ABQ and back and I was worried because there are so many temptations when your in a car or not at home! I stuck to my guns and I feel so good I did!! It's totally worth it to not overdo it!!! Have a great day today!!

Day 2/100: 40 minute hike in the woods. Not the most enjoyable thing for me, but I made sure to run for 1.5 minutes straight at a fast pace to make sure I made up for the slow walking areas. I have not been a fan of running in the past, but I hope when I start my program next week I will learn to love it. I am going to make a sandwich for lunch, and then I am going to go out on the boat and find a good area to swim. Woohoo for more exercise!!
 
Good luck on the C25K! Even that first week of it I did kicked my butt--but I did it. :) If I wasn't preggers I'd do it with ya. :D

Kudos to you for eating so well while on vacation. :hurray:
 
thanks kim! It's hard to eat well on vacation. I'm not depriving my self of anything, I'm just trying to moderate things. It will be interesting to see what happens next week with the running. Last time I ended up with awful shin splints. This time I will do it every other day as directed. LOL.

Adding to day 2/100: 35 minutes of swimming, added to the 40 minutes of hiking make 1 hour and 15 minites today. :D
 
Hello. I am kinda barging in on your diary here, but I had to post. Seeing your excitment about being in the 100's totally got me all pumped up. I am so close to ONEderland myself, but I find myself slipping here and there. It is good to see someone who pushed themselves and got there! CONGRATS! Now I think I will go read back through your diary to "get to know you".

I didn't have the best eating day today, but I'm not going to be hard on myself because I'm enjoying my vacation. I think I might try the first week of C25K tomorrow morning. I will be running mostly downhill, but it will get me in the running spirit for next week when I continue to do week 1 next week. Hell- I might even go straight to week 2. And I will be swimming a lot tomorrow as well.

I'd love to take credit for being motivated, but I can't. Everything I have done for the past 2 days has been forced upon me. The hikes I've been on were family events and I was dragged along, complaining most of the way. Swimming I most enjoyed. When I was a little kid my family used to call me a fish because I never wanted to get out. Nothing changed. LOL. I hope to get better motivation through being dragged along, because in the end of the hikes, I always feel great.
 
Good morning Brandy!! I hope you get your motivation. All the stuff you are doing sounds really fun!! Maybe you should try some of the positive speak? lol I have been working on having a more positive outlook because being so negative all the time is just dragging me down!! I hate it and would rather just be happier lol. Good luck on starting the C25K!! Downhill will be interesting. How is your back doing? I hope it is better. It sucks when backs get tweeked. Hope you have a good time on the rest of your vacation!!
 
Thanks Michelle-My back is perfectly normal as long as I take Motrin in the mornings. I only choose to run downhill to get my running spirit up and "running" LOL. No pun intended. I'm on my way out to the swimming spot right now. Hopefully that will help me with the motivation. I really need to take ur advice and start talking more positively. I just keep envisioning me at the 5K race ready to run, and knowing tjhat I am able to finish with ease. You have motivated me to sign up for the race. Thank you.

Keep up the great controlled eating. I find that sooo hard to do while on vacation. :)
 
hi kim! I haven't been the best with controlled eating lately. Well yesterday was the only real big downer. LOL. They really should keep dragging me along. LOL. The only reason I dislike it so much with them is because they are all much heavier than I, and they move so slow that it doesn't feel like exercise to me. So, I'm glad they are trying to exercise...but my boyfriend wants me to wait up for them all the time, when I just want to bolt ahead. LOL.

Day 3/100- got 1 hour of swimming in. I had an off day. Today is raining, so I'm not exactly sure what will get done. But maybe I can motivate myself to get some kind of exercise in. I can't wait to be home and start the C25K for the 5K race I entered. :) well, I haven't entered yet. I need to print out a paper when I get home from vacation, and mail it in. But I will definitely do it so I have that race looming over my head as my motivation.
 
lol looming. Sounds ominous. let's say committed;) I know how it is with slower folk. My mom is one of those. arggggg! Frustrates the crap out of me! lol but she's my mom so what can I say? lol When is vacation over? Hope you have a good day today despite the rain:D
 
Day 4/100- rest day. Bad food. I'm going running tomorrow morning with Dan. I told Dans parents about it, and they were very supportive. I told my mom and she said "Youre not in the shape to run a 5K". I'm not mad because I know she is being overly blunt about it. She is really supportive usually. Just- she likes to remind me I'm fat. LOL. But she still tells me I'm talented, pretty, etc. Gotta take the good with the bad like with anyone else. It makes me want to push even further. I will finish this. Hell- I hope I win. I'm not doing this to win, just to finish. But I would LOVE to prove to those that don't believe in me that I can do it. I don't care what anyone else thinks. Unless they support me. LOL.
