Brandy's Success Diary

That's what training is for and if I can do it you certainly can! I was 210lbs when I started training and I hadn't exercised in like 3 or 4 months. I am doing fine. *grumble* You will do fine as long as you stick to training and don't wait until the last minute. Your mom shouldn't say that to you. It's just negative and you know how I feel about that kind of talk;) lol You will do well and we will cheer you on:) and in the end both you and I will have race t-shirts and have run a 5K!!!

thanks for those words michelle. You are awesome. My mom shouldn't have said that to me, but I know how my mom is, and I just won't acknowledge it. What date is your 5K? Mine is the 19th. I am excited for it still. I can't wait to train. I'll be running today to keep me pumped up.

Mine is October 5th. I am pretty jazzed too but I am almost more jazzed about the training. My plan is to start running at least 3x a week 3miles a day after the race. I am hoping to sign up for another race after that and then even a 10k!! Then of course marathon thoughts are still in the back of my head. :D I am very excited for both of us!!!

That is pretty much what I am planning on. Finishing the c25k program, completing the race, running 3 miles 3 days a week, on the in between days 2 will be for strenth training, 2 will be flexibility like yoga and Pilates. Then I will sign up for 1 or 2 more 5Ks. Then start training for a 10 K, sign up for a half marathon once or twice, then plan for the 2010 Boston marathon. It will be an adventure. One that I'm willing to partake in. :)

Yesterday was day 5/100. I got in 20 minutes of swimming. It's not much, but it's something. Today is day 6/100 and I want to go running, but it depends how the weather is. I've had 5 cups of tea this morning, which means 5 cups of water down. Breakfast was kind of big, but I'd rather have a big breakfast then a big lunch and dinner. 1 scrambled egg with 1 slice of cheese. 2 slices of toast- 1 with jelly, 1 with peanut butter. I resisted eating chips while the rest of the family munched away at over 500 calories each. I'm proud. For lunch they are making nachos...I'll skip that and find something else small. For dinner they are having burgers, which I do really want. I hope today is a great day. Because we go home tomorrow morning.

Way to go on staying away from the chips!!!! You know you can have a small burger, just don't load it with cheese and mayo, put on tomato, lettuce, mustard and ketchup, maybe onion if you like them, and your just fine! It's all the high fat stuff that really makes them bad, like cheese and Mayo, YIKES!! No fries of course. LOL

I think your doing a great job! I'm proud of you, and look how close you are to hitting the 199 mark, can you believe it???? That really is close, and you can get to that, if you really stick to your guns, but you have to want it and are willing to work hard for it, I know you are, so gooooo for it my friend!!

Stay focused this weekend, try and keep up the swimming routine that is such great exercise for you and you will build great muscle tone, so don't stop!!

I'll check back by in a few days and see how your doing. GOOD JOB!
Kim

I came back a night early from vacation, because Dan wanted to come home to play video games. I don't blame him. He was chosen to be a beta tester for an expansion pack of his all time favorite game- World of Warcraft. I'm happy for him. He doesn't get paid or anything, but he gets to play it before everyone else- and of course his bragging rights. LOL. Spending all day in a car makes today a "rest day". Tomorrow is day 7/100; and I will get some exercise in... And then I will have met my goal of only 2 rest days a week. I am going to use tomorrows weigh in for my ticker update.

Kim- I'm back on home turf, which means no swimming. I have been on vacation for the past week in NH right on a lake. unfortunately, I have no place to swim near me. Thanks for stopping by! I missed you!

Maverick- salty stuff is my biggest downfall as well. I have a REALLY hard time with that. Haha. Thanks for stopping by!

Korrie- I really appreciate your support. :D

Unfortunately day 7 and 8 were both rest days. Complicated. Today is going to be a busy day, but Dan and I have already pledged to run together. Food today is going to be healthy. I'll post everything at the end of the day. I have a lot of things to do in my list today.

Day 1/100. I am starting over with my self challenge. I had 4 rest days in a row, I felt like I was off track. Yesterday I got most of my errands taken care of. Today I have a lot of little things to do. Shower, running, cleaning, letters, and that's just a start. I just woke up, so I am going to get dressed and make my to do list for the day.

Hi Brandy. I was thinking that maybe instead of restarting you should just go back to the last day you exercised? It will be really frustrating as life gets in the way of your schedule and you have to restart. Just a thought. You were doing very well and sometimes you just can't help some circumstances. Hope you have a great day today!! Are you starting C25K? I can't remember if you started already or were waiting to get home. Oh and also that is so cool about Dan. I love playing but don't play enough ever to qualify for something like that:) It is very neat. My hubby will be jealous:)

I want to get under 200 by the start of school on September 2nd. 5 pounds should be easy. I just need to exercise and eat well. I need to take things day by day. I have my period this week, and I have no motivation pushing me forward. But I think I may have found my thing. I am going to rest until 3pm because I'm tired from waking up early for work today. Then I am going to go for week 1 run, come back and shower. I'm going to see Jeff Dunham tonight at 8, so I want to get everything done before then.

204 this morning. Not the big loss I was hoping for, but I'll take it. Next week I'm hoping to see a 202. I have had to deal with quite a few things that really have me off track. But I am going to put myself above that all for my health. I want to be 199 by the last Friday of the month. I know I can do it. I have the day off today, so I'm going to make sure I get plenty done. Exercise, cleaning, organizing, etc.

You "sound" sort of down:( I hope your doing ok! Have a good day today:) You'll lose more! How did running your first day go? I hope it went well!

Mishi. You are awesome. I was in a very poor mood this morning. Stressing over family issues. Running went well. It felt nice I'm going to try having an early morning run routine. That is if I can actually wake up early. Tomorrow will be a trial with running early.

lol Good luck with waking up early!! not in a mean way but it is hard! lol however, it is the nicest time to run. I am sure you can do it!! It's fun to run when there isn't many people out and the world has that fresh morning feel. It's just a nice time. I may start doing that as well because my son's school is going to start and that way I can get it over with at the beginning of the day and not have to worry about it later.
Hope you are feeling better and you have a good weekend!!

I didn't wake up early today, but I did download the first 2 weeks of Suz's C25K podcast. I like her music better. It's not my favorite type of music, but it will keep my interest. Too hot to run right now. I will run tonight when Dan goes to work. I'm going to get plenty of stuff done today. I'm really trying to make sure I do what I need to do to get down to 202 by Friday.
