Brandy's Success Diary

I worked extra hard yesterday to get a good weigh in today. I took a 3 hour walk, didn't eat any junk food, and got plenty of water. Well, I gained. I only gained .6lbs. So I decided to go with my weigh in from yesterday... which was 213. And I gained 2 lbs from last week. I know why. Its because my period is coming.I always gain 2-3lbs the week my period comes... and I retain water like crazy. So I'm desperately hoping to NOT get kicked out of this challenge that I'm in. In 2 days more I should have my period... and then my extra weight will go away. Its weird... its only the 4 days before my period comes that I gain weight. During my period as long as I eat ok... I'll continue losing.

I'll find out tomorrow if I'm eliminated.

Today:

I had a plum for breakfast.
Lunch is going to be yogurt and a granola bar I expect.
Dinner is grilled cheese and soup.
Snack after dinner: Most likely popcorn.


Exercise includes a walk for at least 1.5 hours. Dan will come with me. And we'll probably go 3 miles into the woods. So total of a 6 mile walk. However long that will take is beyond my knowledge.
 
I've done great today. But I never got to my walk. Here's my day:

Breakfast was a plum. Probably around 6:45 am.

Then I went to school just for an hour... I had my American Regional Cuisine class, and we were just going over the syllabus.

I came home and around 11:30 I had 1/2 a BLT sandwich. I stayed away from the Ranch I like to load on it. Because it wasn't worth the calories, fat, or anything else. so 1 slice of bread, 2 slices of bacon, 1/2 slice of cheese, a tiny bit of lettuce, and tiny bit of tomato.

Then Dan and I went shopping for a handheld GPS. I started feeling very ill. I was so dizzy that I couldn't walk straight, I could barely see 3 feet in front of me. TOM also came today. Which is why I gained so much damn weight for weigh in today. I guarantee that weight will be gone tomorrow. DAMNIT!!!!

So we were gone until about 4 pm. I came home and laid in bed for 2 hours. I did some homework, and then Dan made me dinner. I had Chicken Noodle Soup and a Grilled Cheese sandwich.

OH YEAH... and when I was out I ate 2 granola bars and 3 MINI powdered donuts. Dan made me eat them because he thought my blood sugar might have been low because I didn't eat much so far today, and I was only drinking water. IT did help a little bit. Even still... here are my totals for today:

1057.5 calories. 33.75 grams of fat. 145.25 carbs. and 42.5 grams of protein.

That is absolutely perfect. I'm not going to have the popcorn tonight like I was planning on. I doubt I'll be hungry because dinner was so filling. But I might have 1 rice cake.

I'm feeling better now. Tomorrow Dan and I are planning on waking up early. We are going to wake up at 6am. We will shower, eat a healthy breakfast, and then we are going to go geo-caching which is a great way to exercise and have a blast.

It is a sort of game that people play. If you haven't heard of it... let me explain. Ordinary, everyday people run it. Someone, anyone can do this. They take a water-tight container (jar, tackle box, ANYTHING) and put random objects inside of it. ANYTHING they want to. It usually includes either a pad of paper and a pen, or a disposable camera or something. Then they find a place they want to hide it. IT has to be well hidden- because they don't want anyone who's NOT looking for it to find it. Then (this is where the GPS system comes in) they post the coordinates of the container online. Its a world-wide event/game/whatever you want to call it. Then people look to places they want to go (you can look up different places where they different treasures are hidden.) and plug in the coordinates to your GPS and start going there. It takes you to within like 5 feet of the object... and then you find it. You open it, and then on the sheet of paper write your name and a short description of your adventure finding it... and if there is a camera you take a picture of yourself and your friend/whatever... and then from time to time I know the people who originally found it go and look through it. Its pretty neat. A great way to get exercise, and it makes time go by so fast.

So that is what I am doing tomorrow. hit the site, and look into it some more.
 
Weird... I don't know what happened...but I thought I gained 2 lbs from last week...but I weigh the same?!?!? My morning weight was wrong I think. I thought it was to begin with because yesterday I went on a 3 hour ,8 or 9 mile walk. And there is no way my weight would've gone down. But I just weighed in now to check myself... and I weigh 211. HELL YA!!! So I changed my weigh in information for my challenge. I think thats allowed.
 
I joined another challenge. I just want to keep them going. They give me a good reason to go on my computer, and it really keeps me motivated. Except I'm having trouble thinking of a goal. It runs for 3 months. How much weight should I lose in 3 months? I'm guessing.... 15lbs or so??? I need help. 15 lbs sounds about right for me to lose 1.2 lbs per week. But I'm thinking that I should try for 2 lbs per week??? Which is 24 lbs. But is 2 lbs per week an acceptable/attainable number?

I have some homework to do now, but I need to wash up and dress warm because I am geo-caching today! I'm excited.

Lunch: Carrots w/ranch, and a granola bar
Dinner: I have no idea yet.
 
Your calories seem awfully low for all the exercising you're doing, honey. You don't want to slow down your metabolism. That could also be why you felt so faint--your body needs more fuel--especially during TOM.

Geo-catching sounds fun. I've heard of it before, but have never done it. Hope you have a good time. :)

I think 2lbs a week as a goal is too much. Whenever I do that, I never hit it, and then I feel bad. lol. I think 15lbs over 3 months is better, personally. :cheers2:
 
Hi Brandy! It's been awhile! I agree with bikinibound. Your calories are low. Your breakfest is not giving you the energy to get through the day. Jillian on the BL said that you have to eat a good breakfest to get your metabolism going for the day. You don't want to slow that down. It just makes things harder. I have found the weight control oatmeal to be a good quick breakfest with only 160 calories. Just nuke it up with some water. For more protein if you can stand eggs- Almost every morning I have a cup of egg beaters which is 120 calories but has lots of protein. I also add a piece of toast with sugar free jam. It's under 300 calories and gives me lots of energy for the morning. Lol here I am back with all my nosy advice;) lol HOpe you have a good weekend and have fun Geocaching.... or whatever that was lol. I bookmarked the page. It sounds fun:)

Dan and I did 2 geo-caches today. I think we've found our thing that we like to do together for exercise. It was 70 minutes... 4 miles or so altogether.

I know my calories are low in my plan. But what I write down... I never officially stick to. Its just a plan. At the end of the day I usually put down what I really eat.

Breakfast today really was a plum. I'm going to grab a quick bite at Quizno's... and then Dan and I are going to take his little brother out for another geo-cache or 2.

I've already had my 1st water bottle today. Only 5.5 more til I reach my limit. I need to take pictures of myself for one of my challenges. And I should probably take it before Tuesday.

I'm off to get more exercise in my day.
 
Hey everyone! I've done so well today.

For lunch I went out to eat. I got a hamburger, but only ate a couple of fries. I figured it was ok. It wasn't McDonalds either... it was a nice restaurant.

And I went geo-caching for probably about 5 hours today. Dan, Pat and I found 6 geo-caches, and then 1 letter box. I'm not sure what letterbox is yet. I'm going to look online and find out about it. This is definitely the thing I love to do for fun now.

I took pictures of all the caches I found. I will post them in a little bit and tell about them. We found 2 rare items in geo-caches today. It was a blast. The rare things are coins, and travel bugs. The coin is obviously a coin and it goes from cache to cache... and so does the travel bug. They travel thousands of miles.

Sorry if I'm boring any of you with this. I think its amazing.

I'm not hungry for dinner tonight. So I think I will have some baby carrots as a snack or something a little bit later on.

But I did well today. 3 hours and 32 minutes of exercise!!!
 
I'm not happy with what the scale said this morning. But I'm not going to let it get me bothered.

I did over 3.5 hours of exercise yesterday. Today I want to get 20 minutes of strength training done.

Food:
Breakfast- 1/2 everything bagel with cream cheese
Lunch- the other half of the everything bagel with 2.5 pieces of bacon, 1 slice of tomato, 1/2 slice of American cheese, and 1/2 leaf of lettuce. Yumm.
Snack1- Baby carrots
Snack2- Plum
Dinner- Undecided.

I've noticed that I gain weight when my fat intake is too high. So I have to be careful of that. I allow myself between 30 and 60 grams of fat per day. And I need to try to keep it closer to 45 grams per day.

Lets see how today goes.
 
I have done 307 minutes of exercise so far this week. Tomorrow I am going to my mom's house early to use the REALLY old treadmill. But hey... it works.
 
Its lunch time and I haven't even eaten yet today. I'm just not hungry yet. I don't want to get into the habit of eating when I'm not hungry. But of course I need to eat today... I'm not even sure what I am going to eat yet though.

I've been busy cleaning, and organizing everything, etc.

UGH..... I need to search for good food for today.
 
Happy Tuesday! lol Good luck searching for good food! It is vital to have that stuff in the house. I am out of my yogurts and we are sort of snowed in here and I am climbing the walls! What if I can't find another low cal low fat snack!!! lol Hope you have a good day!
 
My food today has been excellent. I am hoping to reach into the 209's tomorrow for weigh-in day. But its ok if I don't. I went on a 3 hour and 10 minute walk today with a group of friends. It was all guys... so I couldn't complain at all...because they were all so "macho" lol. We had to clime HUGE HUGE hills that you would see on the Biggest Loser or something.

THat brings my total exercise so far for this week (which ends tonight) up to 8 hours and 17 minutes. I better lose! lol.

3 hours and 10 minutes walk? Wow! I better start moving, everyone around here is doing so much exercise!
Too bad I don't have lovely machos to walk with...That would make it easier!
 
So I posted some before pictures in one of my challenges, and it sort of made me have mixed emotions. It made my self-esteem go down about 5 notches. But it made me really motivated. I also saw myself in a video from last summer... and I just looked so awful. So my motivation is that I want to weigh 170 lbs by the last week in July... that is when I am going camping with my boyfriend's family. And if I don't get to my goal... I'm not going to go. Thats about 40 pounds away. Thats between 7 and 8 pounds a month. I have to work my butt off.

I'm doing pretty good lately. I just hate looking at the yucky before pics. I used to weigh (at my lowest for my current height) was 148 pounds. And I was so close to my goal of 135...but I also started off at 170 pounds when I decided to diet. I will get there again.

I really need to go clean now. I just keep procrastinating.
 
Wow! That's such an impressive walking total, Brandy. Looks like you've found yet another great way to include exercise - so good that the weather was letting you do the walking too.

These challenges are certainly agreeing with you.

I hunted up your pics - I saw such a pretty girl with lovely bones - who is on her way to being sensational!!!
