br!na's weightloss diary

The recommendation is 1-2 lbs per week. After that you risk losing muscle mass. I don't see a problem with losing 3 pounds in a week if you're not wanting to build up muscle. My calves were 17" starting out. They've toned up a bit but they're still 16.5" and I don't want them to be nearly that big. So I can see how losing a little bit of muscle would help someone who doesn't want to be a body builder.

Good! :) I want to be smaller before I really tone. I don't want to be a big muscled girl. Lol hey, I've been meaning to ask you. How long did it take u to get from 195 to where you are now? Not that it would be the same for me. But I thought I could get an estimate. :)

You are doing awesome br!na!! I don't think it's so bad to lose more, as long as you are doing it the right way (eating right and exercising). Otherwise it won't stick and you will gain it back, but I think you are OK :)

Thanks Icychic! I am being healthy. I watch my calories and workout a lot. So I guess I'm good. Lol

Today, I've tried something different. I tried eating small snacks throughout the day and then having dinner. I've heard that keeps your metabolism going and helps you lose more weight. So, we will see how it worked when I do my weigh-in tomorrow morning. It may have been a one day thing if my weight goes up. Haha.

No walking tonight. My BFF has some drama going on. And she's sick to her stomach. She's about 14-15 weeks pregnant. So we have to work around her nausea when it comes to our walks.

Anyways- I'm exhausted. and trying to help my friend with her drama. So, goodnight you guys! :)

I started back in late March of this year, so 6 1/2 months. But a lot of that was experimenting with what worked for me as far as a diet plan and forms of exercise. I started out on a stationary bike to build up my endurance before I could start walking the 3-mile trail at the park. Then I had to work my way up to jogging. Once you get into a rhythm and find a diet/exercise plan that suits you, the pounds will melt away faster. One thing that has really helped me get through the 160s is not eating late at night around bed time. This will sabotage you when you step on the scale in the mornings.

I stepped on the scale this morning and could not believe it. I weighed 3 times to make sure and every time it said the exact same thing....... 193.6!!!!! I'm still not sure its right.... But the scale isn't changing its mind. I can't tell you guys how happy I am right now!! And I think I will experiment more with the snacking throughout the day.

Belinda- I've already experimented with what exercises work best for me. So hopefully the pounds do just melt away. Haha. You've made such great progress!! I hope I can do the same!! :)

The gym is closed today. But we are going to the hamfest this afternoon. And that will require quite a lot of walking! I'm still going to do my ab workouts here at home. So maybe not going to the gym today won't hurt anything.

Time to get ready for the day!! :)

I've been a bad girl! We went to hamfest yesterday and I had a diet Pepsi, fried cheese sticks and shared a funnel cake with my momma. Then today, I had chicken and hush puppies long john silvers and another diet Pepsi. :( my weigh in today was 195.2. Tomorrow I will probably be up more. But the gym opens back up tomorrow, so I will be back to it. It's not like I pigged out. But I feel guilty. :(

On another note.... I bought mileys new cd, Bangerz, today. And I LOVE it!!! I also got a love pink hoodie at the hamfest! And the guy that I bought it from asked if I needed a medium instead of a large! That made me feel good! Lol

Alright. Off to bed and then my diet starts again tomorrow! :)

Oh Br!na you are not alone! I had a pretty bad weekend for food intake too. Starting over again today. We can do this! :)

Mandy- this may sound horrible... But I'm glad I'm not alone. We are starting over together. My weigh in today was 195.2. So it didn't go up anymore. I guess that's good.

Ive done my ab workouts for the morning. And when the wifey gets off work, we are going to the gym. I'm not hungry. But I don't want my metabolism to slow down. So im forcing myself to eat some yogurt for breakfast. I may not finish it though.

I stayed up late last night on pinterest. I found a DIY workout shirt. So I made 2 of them. They are super cute!! And really easy to make! :) its just a little extra motivation for me to start over today! :)

I'm still having to force myself to snack throughout the day to keep my metabolism up. And its almost dinner time.

I just got back from the gym. I did 20 minutes on the bike with hills, 20 minutes on the arc trainer and 20 minutes on the treadmill at 3.0 mph and an incline of 10. That's a total of 60 minutes and 411 calories burned! :)

Now I'm tired. But I still gotta cook dinner and then do my ab workout again before bed.

Fall break ends and school starts back tomorrow! Yay!! I love it when my kid goes to school! :) gives me a much needed break! Teenagers are hard work!! I probably sound like a horrible mom right now. But I promise, I'm not.

Alright. Time to get up and do something! Hope you guys are having a great day!!

I don't think saying that makes you sound like a horrible mother. Judging someone based on only one comment is premature at best.

Setting aside the fact that I'm a teenager myself, yes, they* (I should, but I don't want to include myself) are hard to deal with. And that's putting it nicely...
:biggrinjester:

If it's any consolation, only yesterday I had about 2500 calories, so today is my first day back on my usual regime. :)

Good job with the exercise! have a great day too. :)

Thanks Athala! I don't want to sound horrible. She's 13 and a handful! Lol

So, my weigh in today was 194.8. So I'm getting back on track! :) headed in the right direction!! I can't wait to get into the 180s again!
I'm about to go turn on my Miley Cyrus cd and get my ab workout done for the morning. then when Melissa gets off we are going to the gym again! She starts her two week vacation tomorrow! We aren't going anywhere. We are just going to spend some quality time at home. I'm super excited!!

Alright folks, time to get up and get it started! :)

Ugh...Miley...I used to love Miley/Hannah...but I have lost ALL respect for her. Another story of good talent gone bad :( But I guess she does have some workout worthy songs.

Glad you will get a "break" from your teenager with her being back in school :) And no it is not a horrible thing to say!

At home vacations are nice. My suggestion: if you had plans to do anything productive (like cleaning the house and such) do it on your first few days so you can relax properly the rest of the time :)

I don't think you sound like a bad mom at all! I don't even have kids, but I know I would definitely be looking forward to the start of school. I just love having my "me time". I have nieces and although I love to spend time with them I also love to see them go too. Kids are noisy (and a little too verbal and honest) and I'm just not cut out for that! LOL

I was never a Miley fan and don't see myself ever becoming one. I don't like what she does, but at the same time I hate hearing people saying that she needs to remember she has little girls looking up to her and that she shouldn't be acting the way she is. To me, it's the parents job to teach their kids right from wrong, not celebrities. I think it's unfair to judge Miley on doing what she's done. It's not for me, but if she wants to be like that... all the power to her! :)

I hope you two enjoy your quality time together! It sounds like you've been looking forward to this. :)

As far as Miley goes... I love her new stuff. Yes, I watched Hannah Montana. And I enjoyed it. But she's not a child anymore. She's 20, and coming into her own. And I respect that she's herself no matter what people have to say. her new cd, Bangerz, is pretty Freaking awesome! I listen to it twice every morning. It gets me motivated and keeps me motivated while I'm working around the house. And I agree, parents should teach their children, not celebrities. Those parents who think she should stay Hannah Montana forever are out of their minds!

Anyways- yes, I'm very excited about Melissa's vacation. We will be getting things done, but also relaxing. Like tonight, we've rented some new movies and we are just gonna cuddle in bed and watch them. Very laid back. Although, she did let me get 2 new scary movies. Little fact about me.... I'm a horror movie fanatic!!!!! Well... Horror in general. Halloween is my favorite holiday. I go all out!! And I've even worked at a haunted house before! Right now, we are about to watch sinister. Then paranormal activity 4. And next time I'm going to rent the last exorcism part 2 and the conjuring!!
Yeah, I'm pretty morbid! :)

194.0 this morning. It's not what I was looking for... but its good. As long as I stay on track, I should be ahead on my offtober goals! :) I'm just really wanting to hit the 180s by the 26th. We are having a Halloween party and I've already bought my costume. It looks good, but if I could lose a little more before the party, it would look even better. So, I'm gonna work my ass off for the next week, and hope I can hit my goal!!

You'll get there. Wanting to look awesome in your costume is going to be a great motivator. Wow you have done so well losing the weight. When I see all of these tickers that have moved, it motivates me! :)

Congratulations on the new loss!

As far as horror movies goes -I just can't handle them!- I mean, I can watch them, but it always gets back to me at night! Be it a movie, clip on Youtube or an image, it all gets back to me when I'm trying to sleep (And, believe me, I already have enough troubles sleeping as it is).

I'm still traumatized by the latest ghost clips I decided to watch on Youtube... :blush5:
:biggrinjester:

Good luck for today! Take care. :)

Good luck to you! I'm sure you'll look great in your costume when the time comes. Just keep working out and eating right and you won't have a problem! :)

I love horror movies too. They don't phase me at all. They actually interviewed Robert Englund from Nightmare on Elm St yesterday morning on the radio program I listen too, what a great interview! The man can talk! It got me thinking about that series and how I'd like to watch it again. Maybe over the weekend I'll have a marathon. Tis the season for scary movies afterall! :)

I don't do horror movies. Even some of the scary kid shows I don't care for. My fiance loves them, and has a few shows he likes to watch on Wednesday and I think Thursday nights as well so I stick myself in the basement or computer room and do something else like play games while he watches those before bed.

br!na, you are doing so awesome! I'm sure the costume will look great!
