bodyfat

i'm currently (like everyone i suppose) trying to tone up my body, and everywhere i read that losing body fat is essential. i am 6"2 and 156lb, and everyone tells me i look underweight. it still feels like theres excess fat there though. i was wondering if it would be advisable to continue CV exercise along with weight training, or whether this would be pointless. any help much appreciated. o and also, where can i find exercises for the chest without gym equipment?
 
What does your current diet and routine look like?
 
well i'm a penniless student at the moment, so my diet's probably not as good as it could be. it's usually weetabix in the morning, with skimmed milk and candarel, then it's tesco 8p noodles, or tuna sandwiches with brown bread, or beans on toast. sometimes it'll be a few of these. i guess i should eat more. i'm not getting any exercise at the mo, up until a few months ago i was jogging every morning before breakfast, but now i'm just festering festering festering. i've been smoking 20 a day for about a month, but (as of today actually) i can't afford to any more.

o and also im on epilepsy medication which makes me all drowsy. i'm not sure if this is relevant but i notice you're educated.

it does sound like you could eat more. I know it's really hard when you're broke, but try for 6 meals a day.

Have you thought about trying to gain some muscle? Gain a few pounds of muscle, then focus on fat loss. That way you can lose a bit more fat without looking super thin. To gain muscle you'll want to hit each muscle group at least twice a week using heavy weights and compound exercises. Decrease the amount of cardio you're doing, but still do some.

Oh and for chest exercises push ups and dips are excellent choices which require no equipment. For dips put your feet on a chair and your hands on one chair, with your legs almost straight between them. Lower your butt toward the floor until your elbows are at 90 degress, then push yourself up.

Just some ideas for you. Hope it helped.

hey thanks a lot, that sounds good actually. should fit in with the uni work i have left, i can start some CV when i finish i've finished in 3 weeks time. does this sound reasonable, or do you think i should leave it a while longer?
 
Someone Help Me

hey every1....i'm around 6'0 and am 166.....i have very strong good looking arms and shoulders and back...chest is decent....i am really trying to develop my 6 pack and the only time i can see some of my abs is when i cough lol or when i workout so i obvioulsy know they are there....for the last 3-4 weeks i have been eating around 15-1900 hundred calories a day and running mb 2 miles....should i have seen results on the scale or even see any improvement yet or should i wait a little more....i think i'm gonna start running 4 miles a day because the last couple weeks i havent seen any changes but idk HELP ME PLEASE IT DRIVES ME CRAZY...every1 tells me it will take a few months cuz i dont have a lot of fat to lose cuz i have a lot of musclse
 
Also a couple times a week I will hit on the heavy bag for approximately 20-30minutes a night....i think its goin to take more than four weeks cuz i dont have a large layer of fat to lose and i also do ab excersises maybe once or twice a week with 150 pushups every other night as well and some dumbell work...so HOW LONG SHOULD IT TAKE TO SEE CHANGE

You mentioned that you take epilepsy meds. Is this for seizures? (since there are other uses for some of the meds)

If so, how often do you have seizures, and how much 'warning' do you get? I ask b/c it is definitely a consideration while weight lifting. If they happen often, or without much notice, you may need to consider not lifting weights alone. You might could mention to your doc also, and see what he/she recommends.
