BikiniBound's Diary

Oh I am so sorry about being induced. Not sure if it helps at all but I was induced with my son and I didn't use pain meds for any part of the labor and it hurt for sure but things went quickly and well. My labor was 6 hours and I made it through what is now a distant memory of the pain. My saving grace was relaxing between contractions and sort of zoning out so I was almost sleeping when I wasn't contracting. It was very strange but wonderful because when it was time to push I was fully awake and ready.
I know everyone's experience differs and I have heard stories about induction as well but hopefully with the cervical ripening it will help. I know with me they used little pills called oxytocin that they put in against the cervix which helped get things started and then they broke my water and things went sailing on from then on. It was a great experience and I am almost hoping to do that way again to be honest!
No matter what if it gets your little one here and healthy and doesn't put either one of you in danger it will be worth it.
Good luck and I will be praying for all of you! Can't wait!

Thanks Mishi! I really needed to hear that. :hug2:

Oh, sweetie, I hope for your sake that the baby decides to make his/her entrance without inducing. But if they have to, I don't think it's that bad. I was there once.

I can't wait to hear some legitimate baby news! [[Great prank you played. I got in here late and saw the April Fools post right after reading all the congrats.]] :D Good one mama!

Still no baby. :( I am hoping evening primrose oil on the cervix does the ripening job.

You have all day today, right??? In tribute to your diary's pages past, how about a nice multiple-orgasm-athon all day long??? What could it hurt?

It worked for my cousin when she was overdue a few weeks ago and her doctor was going to induce her on St. Patrick's Day. She said she was entirely too unIrish and not fond of the color green to have a St. Patty's Day baby, so she really wanted to avoid that. I told her my b/f knew several people that swore that worked, but she said the last thing she felt like doing 9 1/2 months pregnant was THAT. In the 11th hour she gave in (and it's gotta be the big-O, not just sex, mind you, so I think there was some mechanical intervention at some point) and....BAM! Labor... and she was able to name her son Max like she wanted, not Patrick... or Mick... :cheers2:

In any case.... FINGERS CROSSED!!! :D

I tried the multiple orgasm thing already. Was fun, ;) but it didn't work. :(

6hrs until I have to go in. Well, I've decided to give the cervadil a chance, but if I'm not in labor by morning, I will probably come home and give it one more day.

Sorry that it is not likely to be the kind of birth that you would most like. We really hope that the natural thing happens in these last few hours for you. Multiple orgasms cannot be a bad idea (what's not to like about something that is fun - and should certainly help you fill in the time nicely). If you tried it and it didnt work - it doesnt mean that it wont work next time! After all - you didnt think of stopping having sex to get pregnant (i.e. going IVF) just because it didnt work the first time.

The huge thing to focus on is that however you get there - in a very short time you are going to be able to hold that baby. The process will soon be a distant memory.

Take care - and know that we are thinking about you.

Well, I'm here at the hospital and the cervadil is in. When I got here, and was told they had to do constant fetal monitoring while the cervadil was in (12hrs) I lost it. I was already a weeping mess, and that just set it off. I was planning on doing the ripening and going home in the morning if it didn't send me into labor. The midwife talked me into staying if we only did 20min of monitoring each hour--and no IV. So I gave in. I now have taken an ambien so I'm a bit loopy.

(((hugs))) In a way having the heart monitor on is kinda nice - like a voice from within. :)

It's good that you can keep us up-to-date from hospital.

Looking in and sorry to see that the process has taken this turn. Know that you have heaps of friends that are sending you tons of mental hugs.

xxx

I am soooo uncomfortable. My back and hips ACHE. :ack2: I swear the person who designed the furniture in this birthing room was a man with a vendetta against pregnant women!!

I cannot get comfortable no matter the position. the nurse thinks I might be going into labor. We'll soon know with the next monitoring results.

Your little one is on their way! May be already since I am bit late getting up today. You will do fine! Monitoring stinks but it's sort of interesting to see your contractions and what they do also gotta make sure that baby is ok. Glad they worked with you though and it's awesome that you don't have to have an IV! I will have to have one... boooo. lol.
I am so excited for you!!
Take deep breaths and relax that baby out! Seriously it helps!!

Hey girl! I bet the baby is here by now. I'm sending you good thoughts your way.

Can't wait until you log back on!

Good for you for getting in some good April Fool's day posts! It would've been nice for the baby to be born on April 1st - that's my bday! :D Of course people tend not to believe you when you tell them. ;)
