BikiniBound's Diary

I always wanted 5 boys, no girls. I grew up the only girl in a house with a brother and 8 male cousins near us. The next girl in the family was not born until I was 12 and she's every bit the tomboy I was, as she was the only other girl to ever come along. There are 14 of us, only 2 girls. I only really knew how to relate to boys, and was always just friends with guys, instead of girls. I did not make many good girl friends until 10th grade. After having my best friends daughter around for the last 5 years, I like little girls now, but still feel more comfortable with little boys and the "rough and tumble" play than dollies and dress up.

Now, I am not sure about 5 boys no girls...maybe 4 and 1?

Of course, with the infertility, I'll take whatever I get lucky enough to get. And somehow, I don't think I'll ever get my desired 5. I think probably 1 or 2 will be all I manage.

But yes, I am totally serious about burning more calories with a boy than a girl. Even in the womb, males have better natural metabolisms. And there is a scientifically proven way to increase odds of having a boy or a girl, depending on preference.

Hey Kimmy!!

I've read about your hopes of having a baby. I'd say I hope it goes well for you, but I actually mean I hope 'it' goes well for you...:reddevil: Oh, I love doublespeak. LOL.

And I'm sure you'll find ways to motivate yourself into NOT gaining too much baby weight. It's always been my dream to be a mother, and now, since I'm so close to my goal, it's also a fear I have. I want to have children, but I fear if I gain the baby weight, I won't lose it and fall off the wagon and back into obesity. But I keep telling myself that I've worked too hard for too long to let it happen. We've simply NOT to let it happen. There are many ways to stay fit during pregnancy. It's actually GOOD for your body and the baby too I hear. I'll definatly be reading "How to stay in shape with a child" books.

You'll be encouraged too, I know. You'll do just fine and have beautiful children. I wish you and the hubby the utmost luck and don't forget to have fun trying. I hear it's the best part. LOL.

I think that with both of having worked so hard to take the weight off, we will be more cautious about putting it on while preggers. I totally plan on exercising while pregnant--just making any necessary modifications.

I intend to have fun trying--especially as I have heard that women are more likely to conceive if they orgasm just prior to or during sex. It's supposed to soften the cervix, making it easier for the sperm to get through, or something like that. Sorry if that is tmi for some of you guys..lmao.

LOL@us having beautiful children. I told H exactly that the first night we met--hypothetically of course. ;)

5 kids??????? Are you insane? If not you will be after raising 5 kids...lol. :D I would like a boy and a girl--or 2 boys. But I think I'd lose my mind with two teenage girls at once. All the whining, the moodiness, etc haha. I also wouldn't mind adopting 2 kids out of foster care at some point.

I probably am insane...but I have wanted 5 for a long time. Teaching and being an aunt has not yet changed my mind. I always said I'd stop at two girls though! One girl, I'd keep having babies, two and I'm out. A houseful of girls is not my idea of fun.

Thanks for the link. I don't know how accurate it will be, though, as my periods aren't that regular.

I'm going to try getting preggers w/out anything fancy for a few months and see how it goes. I have no idea how fertile I am--H and I have always been VERY careful, so I could very well have an easy time of it. Who knows until ya try..lol

Exercise this week:
2/11—30 min circuit training, 45 min bike, 16 miles biked, weight: 221.5
2/12—60 min circuit training, weight: 220.5
2/13—40 min exercise bike, 13.85 miles, weight: 220 (new low)
2/14—45 min circuit training, weight: 220
2/15—None, weight: 221
2/16—30 min exercise bike, 10.6 miles, weight: 221

Friday's calories: 2,120
Saturday's calories: 2,013
Challenge bonus weekly calorie range: 11,550-12,550
Calories left: 7,417-8,417

Still ravenously hungry. I don't know what my problem is. I just feel like eating all day long. :banghead:

I also need to start exercising more. I'm finding it hard to get it done on the weekends when my gym is closed all day Sunday, and only open until 11:30am on Sat. I wish it was warmer out so I could go for a walk. I miss my walks. :(

H's birthday is tomorrow, so that will be a busy day. I'm worried about my eating again, as we will be eating out for at least one, possibly two meals. :willy_nilly:

We're done dogsitting! :hurray: I spent today cleaning and doing laundry. :ack2: I guess that counts as some exercise..lol.

Hi Kimberly

You will be pleased to be finished with dog-sitting.

Thus far - it would appear that counting calories is actually going worse for you than for me (who would have guessed???!!!) With two days of definite overspend and a day of birthday celebration - I am sure that you realise that you will soon be at the point where you have quite a comparitively small calorie allocation (in my terms anyway) when you divide the remaining range by the number of remaining days. I always hate that idea of being ruled by numbers. I imagine that you are looking back fondly on bonuses like fibre eating by the day. If you are hungry you are probably eating tons of fibre and anyway it wasnt an "all or nothing" situation like this bonus.

I wonder why you are so hungry. Have you stopped eating something that was keeping you feeling full up? Have you encountered any stress that you havent mentioned here - the urge to comfort eat and binge can be very strong. All it would take is for something to get to me and I could get a strong desire to eat anything.

I tell myself regarding the calorie counting thing (as you know it was always going to be the bonus of this challenge that is less than certain that I will stick to it and get my points) - at least I have made it into the final round so havent been eliminated. I think that TheKrinse has it all tied up and will win with ease. There are others that are certain to come ahead of me too. Frankly very few people would notice if I didnt get the points and slipped down the chart a bit. By my reckoning there are only 4 places that I could slip by assuming that everyone else got the points. It isnt the end of the world if you do not get the bonus points. You dont want to beat yourself up or try to eat unhealthily later in the week.

I do think that there is something about walking that helps our moods. It may be the opportunity to think things through or it may be something much more complicated. I hope that your weather improves soon so that you can get out for a walk. In the meantime - I imagine that you will be making good use of your exercise bike.

I hope that you both enjoy your husband's birthday.

Take care
Love
Margaret

HAppy birthday to Hubby!

I know you will make wise choices for food, and work off any excess calories consumed. Dont' deny yourself a small piece of cake, just be sure to count the calories!

You can DO IT!

Sunday's calories: 2,018

Another high calorie day...sigh. Somehow, I can still eat an average of 1600 calories per day and still get my bonus pts..lol. So I guess I'll survive.

H had a good birthday, so that's good. I had to suffer through an hour of watching Cops, though. :ack2: God, I hate that show. But H loves it.

Margaret--yes, who would've guessed I'd have such a hard time with this bonus? lol thekrinse probably does have it all wrapped up, but I try not to think about that too much, or else I'll just eat whatever I want..lmao. I'm up 3lbs from my lowest weight of Thursday, so that is not good. I've got to be a good girl the rest of the week. :reddevil:

Angel--I wish I could blame it on the weather..lol. Today was in the mid-40sF/7-8C, which is a heatwave here this time of year..lol.

I do exercise at home on the weekends, but as my exercise bike and Turbo Jam DVDs are all I have, it makes it harder. Plus, my dad is often in the room where I do all this, and there's no other place I can do it. So I have to plan home exercise around that. During the week, he's at work during the day, so that isn't a problem. I've gotten in 60min of exercise since Friday, so I have to do 1hr a day for the next 4 days. I can do it. :)

Hi Trevor--thanks for stopping by. :)

Yarmiah--I didn't think there would be a birthday cake, as H often doesn't care about one. But today he said he'd like one, so I went out and bought one. He wanted a double chocolate cake, and I got him a triple choc fudge cake...ahhhhhhhh. But he ate so much at lunch, that he doesn't want to eat any until tomorrow, so instead I get to look at it...hahaha. There goes my calories for tomorrow...hehehe :D

Tell me about it Kimmy, today was a high calorie day for me too. Because I didn't wake up early enough, my usual pattern of eating every ninety minutes was thwarted. Instead I ate every hour.

It's awesome that your H enjoyed his B-day, and you know what, I think it's a guy thing to enjoy Cops. Both my bro and Dad use to watch it religiously. Who knows, maybe in some way it boosts their machismo. I mean, think about it, if they enjoyed Lifetime, it would emasculate thier male egos. Haha.

Gaugh, I would take a fork to a triple chocolate cake, I know I would. There's no way I could let something like that sit out on my counter. If I can't treat myself to it, I put it away in my pantry until another member of my family asks for it. So it's either they eat it, or I'll conisder wasting it a travesty and down it myself. Of course, the latter leaves me with a feeling of guilt from my head to my toes, and pains my feet because I then have to run it off...but alas, this is how I have to maintain for the rest of my life.

You'll get the exercise in. I've faith in you. You know what you're doing. Not only are you awesome, you're one determined cookie, that's praiseable right there.

Hi Kimberly

My hubby tends to like to watch the police shows too - but he tends to prefer the shows that we have with UK police in them. I tend to be happy to let him watch them because then I can chat on the forum. If he is not watching television then he wants the computer.

I am pleased that your hubby enjoyed his birthday. You had no choice but let him fill the house with cake if that was what he wanted. Cake never lasts long in this house. Hubby would make sure that it was all polished off in one go so we never get the problem of avoiding leftovers.

Those three pounds will come off very quickly. All you need to do is avoid that cake (it would reduce the calories you have left further) and take firm control of your food and do the exercise. If your hubby does not eat the cake soon - it isnt his birthday any longer - get rid of it (bin it / give it to the birds) - you do not want it as it could compromise the possibility of eating healthily to get your points. Have no concern as you waste food for the starving child in Africa - that is no reason for you to eat cake. You know the drill as well as I do. Cereal, fruit and plenty of veg are keeping me feeling full on about the 1600 calories that you mention. I had 1603 calories Sunday and ate tons of food. I have no doubt that you will get the exercise in.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Happy belated BDay to H-man. Are you trying to get pregnant right now? That is awesome. I'm happy for you... and good luck I guess. lol. Have fun trying!!!!

Have a great MOnday.

i'm sure you'll get your excercise in...you always do! i bet that 223 is because of :reddevil: paying you a visit.

have a good day

LOL! Here's more re the cake saga..lmao. Originally, the cake was on the kitchen counter yesterday. Then I told H that since he didn't want to eat it just yet, he'd better put it out of sight b/c when my parents came home, they would want to dig into it immediately. They are like alcoholics around a bottle of wiskey, or a crack whore around crack (I think y'all get the point :biggrinjester: ) when it comes to goodies like that. So the cake is now in our bedroom--tempting me like a siren...hhahaha. H told me earlier today we'll dig into it tonight. H won't probably have more than one piece, as he's not into sweets like my family is. However, once my parents get into it, I have little doubt it'll be devoured in no time. :piggy:

Rae--thanks for the kind words. :) H also likes to watch Dr. Phil, and just about any other show were people are making asses of themselves. I think it makes him feel better about himself. "So what if I'm 36 and living with my in-laws. At least I'm not a wife-beater/druggie/alcoholic/criminal/dumbass, etc." :biggrinjester: That's just my theory, though. :D

Margaret--the 3lbs didn't come off toda--I am still at 223. :( But, I'm going to hit the gym for an hour tonight, and stay under 1600 cals today, so there should be an improvement tomorrow. *keeps fingers crossed* Oh, and I told him yesterday that I want to go to London this summer. He didn't immediately say no, so that is a good sign. I know he'd like to go himself, so I predict we'll go if I can get decently priced plane tickets. If I sell my listing by then, I'll definitely go. But that isn't doing much atm--only that one showing. :ack2:

Brandy--we're not trying yet--probably will start in a few weeks once H's insurance starts covering me. :)

Angel--:reddevil: isn't due for another 2 weeks, so I can't blame the 3lbs on that. :( So far I am staying away from the cake..lol. I will end up having a SMALL piece tonight, but that is it. I'm not gonna dive head first into it and gobble it up...hahaha

Wow, Scalena just refuses to budge does she? Want me to come kick her ass? I killed mine with a hammer. Lol!!

Good luck with the cake tonight. My H brought home girl scout cookies over the weekend. Bastard. I am NOT a sweets person and always prefer something salty UNLESS you dangle the cookies called "samoas" in front of me. I love those damn things. I ate six of them on saturday. :( I didn't go over my calorie limits but that much sugar was soooo not good. He has been ordered NEVER to bring them home again!

Do you have big plans for the H's birthday?

Well Sheesh, its like torture having the damn cake right up your nose like that. And now that you haven't shared the cake with the parents, how do you ever bring it out now!? Then they'll know yall were being cheap with your cake. LOL

No, no--it hasn't been touched. As far as they know, I bought it on my way home from work tonight..lol. :D Now I'm at the office, so there's no cake to tempt me. Thank God!!
