BikiniBound's Diary

Well that is just irritating about how the cake turned up in your trunk of all places! Sheesh, like would we ever "forget" about a cake we brought to work?! That's how these Hs stay so slender, they dont have that love for food like us LOL.

Your maintenance plan really does sound like a good idea. These few pounds have been really hard fought. Sounds like the body needs a break from dieting and all this exercise. Its worked before and it'll work again! You're such a consistent person and you have so very much to be proud of, no matter what the damn scale says. Dont forget too that you should be developing a bit of muscle tone, so that could account for at least a pound over all these weeks of exercising like a fiend.

You are doing so well losing weight kim. And you always make room for the all-important exercise. Keep it up, and you will succeed.

I hate to think how far Rae would have made herself run if she had eaten that cake though!
Maybe all the way to Michigan to see me! :D

Make sure that you do not go over 1528 calories (I seem to remember that there was a 20 calorie extra in the rules) - I dont think that there is a real risk of you going under 508 calories!!!

No, I doubt eating 508 calories will be a problem..lol. I'm almost there already. :D

Trust a man to only do half a job with the cake! - and why didnt he get rid of the cheese popcorn too (see how I know how to lay the blame)!
My dad is to blame for the popcorn. Another reason why I cannot wait to move into my own place. H's sis emailed him some forms he has to sign for his mum's house. This is a good sign that things are moving as planned. I expect we'll be able to make an offer on something within the next 2 months. :hurray:

I am optimistic about the scales for you - you are doing the exercise and keeping to your weekly calorie allocation (which is a logical one for weightloss). They have to be ready to give a nice number soon.

Good luck at the scales and have a good Thursday.

Still 220.5--which means I need to get down to 220 tomorrow for a break even from last week, and below that for a loss. :ack2:

Everyone enjoys a break at times - and eating at maintenance may help things along in the longrun. It is odd that you have not had a better weightloss recently because you have been on average firm with your food and consistent with your exercise. My main fear about turning things down a notch like that for me - is that I am afraid that I may put off starting it up again. The new challenge starting up should go some way towards mitigating the probability of that.[/QUOTE]

I have taken several breaks in the past--Christmas for one--and never had any trouble getting started again. However, this time I want to maintain--whereas over the holidays I gained a bit. That will be the difference, and it will be good practice for me for when I've finally reached my goal.

Nope, H just isn't tempted by that stuff like I am--which probably explains why he's never had a weight problem. He is, however, quite addicted to pretzels these days. :coolgleamA:

Yes, I do have to take measurements, b/c my clothes seem to fit a bit better even if the scale isn't being kind. It's still frustrating, though, when like you said, I've been very consistant with my calories, and while I do have a few days here and there where my cals aren't so great--I haven't had any days lately where they were above maintanance--and I've exercised 5hrs a week every week for the last 7. I should've lost more than 2.5lbs. :cuss::cuss:

Maintenance at goal is something that I think about a lot. Being able to eat more and exercise less while not gaining weight is a skill that we will all need to acquire eventually. I certainly was no good at it in the past!

I can see many benefits to you acquiring that skill.

Good news about the Australian documents. It will be great if you can get a house sorted out soon. I can see benefits to getting away from people that tempt you with popcorn.

Good luck at the scales on Friday.

a-n-g-e-l: when are you starting the next challenge! is it going to be similar. i want to do better this ime around! not being in school should help but only if you start it up soon! please please please!

So the next challenge starts up 2 weeks from this Friday

That's as soon as it gets..lol. I need a break, and my birthday is March 4th, so I don't want to be in a challenge during that time bc I want to eat whatever I want on my b-day. :D

Margaret--yes, getting away from all the naughty foods that my parents insist on keeping around is a good thing. My dad sometimes talks about adding on to his house and having us stay, but it would still mean sharing a kitchen. I told him I want my own kitchen--and own place for that matter.

Well, I made my calorie range, but I am currently fighting off cravings. I'm going to take a Benedryl in a hour or so and get to bed early so I don't have to be tortured by cravings. And, the sooner I get to bed, the sooner I can eat!! haha.

H told me tonight that we have been invited to a fish fry tomorrow night. So I will be eating a lot more calories than I did today...:drool5:

The cake is still in my trunk!! If it's not gone by the time I check tomorrow, I might just eat the damn thing and be done with it. Ha! There are 3 slices left. I told H again today to take it out. Or, I could drop it off at my office. That's what I should do..lol. Maybe I'll just have one slice and take the other two to the office. :D
Ah..cake...I hope that Benedryl kicks in soon..:smilielol5:

Hi Kimberly

Well done for staying within calories and doing your exercise. I knew that you could maximise your bonus points if once you put a stop to the calorie overspend.

Good luck at the scales - and a weighing at absolute empty is what you really want!

Friday started at midnight - so if you wake up with cravings you can eat.

The cake cannot hurt your challenge now (as long as you weigh on Friday before eating it!) - but it can still hinder your weight loss project. Try and give it all away. It's a few days old and wont be so nice now. If you really want some then having one piece and giving the rest away seems to be the best idea. You want rid of it. The longer that you keep it - the greater the danger that you will eat it all.

The fish fry sounds good. Have lots of fun. All the more reason not to have too much cake too.

I think that it is a good idea to not have the next challenge start until after your birthday. Everyone wants some food treats on their birthday - I did last year.

Your father is sweet - considering making more room for you like that.

Take care
Love
Margaret

So do the maintenance calories start now?! A fish fry would be a good opportunity to kick it off. But damn, I can't wait to see you hit the teens. Maybe this extra food will help that. You certainly cant go any lower or get more consistent with your food and exercise. Excellent job these last several weeks!!!

Yep, time to get out of the parents house. Then you and H can walk around nude and you can show off your slender new shape, to be getting lots more slender, and that'll of course help out the baby project. he he

I hear ya. I pig out on special occasions. It's like an all day cheat fest and I LOVE them. Olive Garden is my favorite restaurant and every birthday, my famly dines there. I always get the Chicken Fettucine and eat at least two breadsticks. I know it's LOADED with cals, but you know what? I hardly EVER eat it. So on that once special day, I'm going to eat it very, very slowly and enjoy every delicious carbohydrate.

It really is alot easier to stick with your food plan if the people around you are supporting you and your desire to NOT be tempted.Of course, they're only people too and like eating their favorite things, but you're right Kimmy, it really is torturous for us to be around things like Oreos and Reeses without thinking for one second, 'Why the heck *don't* I eat stuff like this?' lol.

Wahoo a fish fry!! Awesome. I love those. The fish is always so flaky and enveloped in beer battered deliciousness. How many cals do you think is in one piece? 500? 6? LOL.

Just EAT THE CAKE!! I would have by now and you know it. You know how I am with chocolate. I cannot help myself. It's like being around a good smelling man... you can only resist for so long. :drool5::smilielol5:

have a good day beautiful!

;-)

Ah...y'all are cracking me up about the cake!!

The cake is still untouched (by me at least). I'm not sure if H finally took it out of my trunk or not. I'm sure it is still good, b/c it's freezing outside, so that will help preserve it and keep it from going stale. I won't be doing a thing with it until I go out b/c it's too damn cold to run outside just for a piece of cake..haha. Did I really say that? :D

Ok, here's the good news--it's looks like my cake resistance has paid off bc I was 219lbs today!!!!!!! I'm finally in the teens!! :hurray:

So now I have a dilemma--after a lb loss, I'm wondering if I should do a maintenance 2 weeks....:willy_nilly: After today's eating, I'm sure the scale will be back up over the weekend. I'm thinking about having a cheat day today, and then continuing to keep my nose to the grindstone with my eating. I am going to cut back on the exercise, though. There's going to be tons of it in the next challenge. So I think I will continue to eat right this week, and then if the scale doesn't budge again, I'll do a maintenance for the 1 week before the next challenge.

I love Olive Garden, too. We last went there just after Christmas, and I pigged out--no dessert, though. :D

Ha! I don't want to think about it, you naughty little minx! :D

The trouble is, most of the good smelling ones are gay.

My dad just e-mailed me this. Considering how much you've all listened to me whine about the weather, I thought you might find some of these funny.

You know you live in Michigan...

1. If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 18 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by, you might live in Michigan.

2. If your local Dairy Queen is closed from November through March.

3. If you have worn shorts and a coat at the same time.

4. If your town has an equal number of bars and churches.

5. "Vacation" means going up north on I-75

6. You measure distance in hours.

7. You know several people who have hit a deer more than once.

8. You often switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.

9. You can drive 65 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard, without flinching.

10. You see people wearing camouflage at social events (including weddings).

11. You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.

12. You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.

13. Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.

14. You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction.

15. You can identify a southern or eastern accent.

16. Your idea of creative landscaping is a statue of a deer next to your blue spruce

17. You were unaware that there is a legal drinking age.

18. Down South to you means Ohio.

19. A brat is something you eat.

20. Your neighbor throws a party to celebrate his new pole barn.

21. You go out to fish fry every Friday. LOL as I'm going to one tonight!

22. Your 4th of July picnic was moved indoors due to frost.

23. You have more miles on your snow blower than your car.

24. You find 0 degrees "a little chilly."

25. You drink pop and bake with soda.

26. You know what a Yooper is.

27. You know that UP is a place, not a direction.

28. You know it's possible to live in a thumb.

29. You understand that when visiting Detroit, the best thing to wear is a Kevlar vest. Only in certain parts! :D

30. You actually understand these jokes, and you forward them to all your Michigan friends.

If you have any questions, like "what the hell are they talking about when they say living in a thumb?" Just ask me. :D

Thanks, Margaret, I was pleased as punch to see 219. I was hoping against hope for 219.5, so to be down another half pound was terrific. :D
