That is a huge bridge. It is quite a lot bigger than a bridge in Greece that we saw when we drove from Patras to Athens - and we thought that was pretty impressive.

That's a cool looking bridge as well. Much newer than the Mighty Mac which celebrated it's 50th birthday in 2007. I new a Korean bridge engineer who made a special trip to Michigan just to see this bridge, as it is very famous among bridge engineers. It was a massive endeavor in the 1950s. We Michiganders are very proud of it. No matter how many times I drive over it, I'm always amazed by it. It was built to move with the winds, so it's very flexible, and can withstand 500mph hurricane force winds. It's 4 lanes wide.

Here are some pics. One is in winter, the other during the annual Labor Day Bridgewalk--the only time it's open to pedestrians. I would love to walk it some day--maybe this coming September. The water on the right hand side of the bridge is Lake Huron, and the left is Lake Michigan. The bridge is where the two lakes meet.

Bella--I often use my hand to show my location in Michigan..lol Not lately, bc I'm in Michigan, but when I was in college in Indiana and living overseas, I did frequently...:D People always look at me a little funny. :)

My day is going well so far. :D I hope yours is, too.

No new low today. I was up a half pound from yesterday. :ack2: I am pretty sure it's due to the lack of bathroom activity despite the increased fiber this week. :banghead: Hopefully, I can take care of business before my weigh in tomorrow. :D

The rush to close the deal leaves most of the work to the lender and title company, but that means little is in my control, so I stress about that..haha. Hopefully the building inspection will go well today. *Keeps fingers crossed.*
 
Yeah, I've knocked that out too, that's the easy part for me. And thanks to you the bonus was easy too. But the weight loss part, I'm just NOT WORTHY. LOL LOL

The inspection will pass, it will, you watch!

Hey maybe you can down a bag of prunes today, that might flush you out good by morning!! I love those things!

1/16—38 min exercise bike, 13.22 miles, weight: 223
1/17—32 min ST Turbo Jam, weight: 223.5

Thursday's food: 1,734 calories, 27g fiber

Despite a great week food and exercise wise, it looks like I'm going to post a gain for the challenge tomorrow. :ack2:

From last Friday to today I got in 5hrs of exercise and my calories were as follows:

1/14--1618
1/15--1785
1/16--1545
1/17--1734
AVG--1,785

I don't mean this to come off as whining, I just am trying to analyze where I went wrong. Guess I need to reduce my calories further??

You didn't go wrong. The week before, you lost 2.2% of your body weight, going by the reading on the scale. That's not a sustainable rate of loss, so you could conclude that you saw a scale loss that you hadn't yet fully earned. And this past week was the week you earned it.

If you're currently up half a pound according to the scale, that puts you almost exactly at a net 2% of body weight loss for 2 weeks. 1% of body weight per week (so 2% for 2 weeks) is a very respectable rate of loss.

Stick with it. The scale will follow. :)
 
Looks like a gr8 week you did nothing wrong,our bodies is a crazy
machine abnd acts just like a computer system has a mind of it's own
and makes no since at times lol,I saw 178 either SUN or MON and it stayed
the same to weigh in day so my big drop was from thurs-sun then held steady I was hoping for another lb but take what we get and keep doing what were doing.Have a nice weekend,TAMMY:cheers2:

The big loss last week was just taking off lbs I'd put on over the holidays. I don't consider that a true loss. Also, I ate well and exercised 5hrs last week. In fact, I ate fewer calories last week--about 700 less. So I think I fully earned it. :D

I think if I could just see some action in the bathroom, I'd see some action on the scale...:biggrinjester:

Nah... you're all good. Your calories seem really good actually.. (then again, my ass eats ~300-400 cals more HA!) Just be patient and you'll see a loss on the scale, honey. Btw... I saw some Turbo Jam tossed in them workouts, little lady. Can you youtube that shit to me? Mrawl! :D

If it's action in the bathroom that you are looking for - are you sure that you are drinking enough water.

Despite eating half the fruit, veg and cereal in England on a regular basis last year - I got terrible constipation. My doctor (who is far from perfect) told me to up my intake of water. I thought that I was pretty good but wasnt getting 2 litres of water every day. She also told me to take laxatives if I wasnt "going". Anyway I do not want to be a person losing weight that takes laxatives all the time so I preferred to keep my raisin consumption nice and high too.

It might sort itself out naturally now that you are becoming less fibre aware (or at least not doing it for points!).

I think I'm agreeing with Allyphoe. I believe the weight you gained around the xmas holidays included a bit of actual fat, not water. And now you've lost that fat. Even though it doesn't count double when you calculate how many pounds you've lost since the start, the fact is that most of us on here hit a snag during xmas, eating our chocolates and cookies with relative abandon. However, many of us only gained a few pounds at most, so were were ahead of the game when you look at the amount most Americans put on during the season. But despite all this double losing, Allypoe is still right about the percentage lost in the last two weeks, which means you're doing everything right and no need to question what you did wrong. YOU'RE DOING GREAT STAR :)!
