Hi Kimberly

I am pleased that the scales have been better than you were expecting. Even without Christmas / New Year - it is perfectly normal to drift up from your low weight. I am up from my low weight today (and have been most of the week). It seems to happen to everyone - I post a fortnight's results every day on the weigh every day club and most people's seem to wiggle about quite a lot (apart from the odd newbie that is probably mainly losing water - once they get a few posts in it seems to wiggle a bit for them too!).

I hope that you are continuing to feel better. I get my echinacea at the vitamins section of Tescos supermarket - but I imagine that most chemists would have it in the vitamins section. I definitely think that it is worth having some in the house so that it is there for as soon as the sniffles start with anyone.

I like a decent amount of sleep - but my hubby always wakes up and gets up long before a sane human being would consider the notion.

Hubby's gout is fine at the minute (touch wood). It flares up and pretty much brings him to a halt for two or three days and then it is fine until the next time. This has been happening since he was in his twenties and will probably keep on happening for ever. Since he will not take the preventative medication it is just a question of trying to work out the trigger food that is causing it. He has the painkilling medication on repeat prescription so it is not like he needs to go to the quack's when it happens.

I am pleased that you and hubby seem to be still getting along better. It is nice when they do things around the house. Dont worry about the number of hours worked - I dont work at all now but still have things to do with my time. Hubby and I have always had a deal whereby if there is meat to be roasted - he deals with the meat and cooks the dinner. All I need to do is prepare the veg for the schedule that he announces and he cooks the whole thing. He also does all the driving - but that is principally because he told me once too often that I was the worst driver in the world when we were courting. One day I informed him that I had given up driving for life and given my car away and he would have to drive me everywhere from that day forward. My father (who had just scrapped his car) was more than happy to get given my car.

As Kim said - try to make the photo bigger!

Its a shame that we arent all on the same team for the challenge. I am sure that we would have been the winning team - and some churlish people may have suggested that this suggested corruption... I certainly wish you good luck. I shall be sticking to my normal diet so don't suddenly class raisins as junk food.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Morning Kimberly!
Just stopping by to wish you good luck in the challenge!!!
I sooo want to win this one!!!
Funny all the others I did them but not with this level of dedication. Weird I know!
Have a GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Some people do. I guess maybe they figure if the minister's wife can be so laid back why not. I have been known to show up in my favorite teams jersey on game day. 'Sides I am a firm believer in Church not being a fashion contest. Otherwise plenty of people of lesser means would never show up.
Though I do clean up nice on more Sundays then not. But it is nice to know that if I just "don't feel like it" that I don't have to.

Amen! :D

Any church I have ever went to was laid back bc clothes are not important.

The people are... {Body of Christ}

Women: Nice top - capri pants - sandles/flip flops
or nice tops - jeans - boots - etc..

I love that and fit right in.

Jesus wore a robe and sandles. :)

No house selling today. This time of year is VERY quiet workwise. I have the day off. I stayed up until 4am watching Gone With the Wind which was on TCM last night. I'm such a dork, having seen this movie a trillion times already--not to mention I've read the book repeatedly. It's not like I can't watch it any time I want since I have it on tape....lol. Sooo...I didn't get up until 1:30pm today!! But the sleep was wonderful to get in. My cold was miserable yesterday, and it does seem a bit better today.

I'm planning on hitting the gym soon.

Don't mention the "C" word in here this week! :D

Normally, alcohol isn't a big deal for me. I don't usually drink unless I'm with other people who are drinking. And as I don't have anything like that going on this week, booze should be easy. Junk food and chocolate is my downfall.

hickgurltx: Hi Sweet Kimberly!

Have A Goal Reachin' Day!

~*Get Well Soon!*~ (You poor thing!)

Thanks Sugar Lips! I'm feeling a bit better today. Yesterday I had that watery eyes, runny, stuffed up nose thing going on. Today so far it's not so bad. :)

Margaret--The scale was up 1.5lbs today, but that's no big surprise considering what I ate yesterday. :sifone: I have little doubt that I'll be back to 222.5 before the week's over.

Glad to hear Rod's gout is better atm. :)

That is the good thing about reclaiming weight territory - even if/when you wiggle up from a new low you know that if you are good with diet and exercise you should naturally drift down to it quite quickly. You are not likely to plateau on the way there.

Thanks! I enjoy doing the challenges. If only there was money in it..lol...I'd make it my day job..haha. Glad you're on my team. :)

haha! do enough challenges and you might get some offers...who knows...plus i need challenges lol!

thanx!!! our team is great!!! one of us has got to win --- no offence to the other teams -- come on BLACK TEAM!

Hey girl :). Where are your ever faithful exercise and food updates missie! Anyway, its really fun how competitive everyone is being with the challenge, like Ballaryne said, its got me being very disciplined. It really does help! TTYS :).

Worked out for 55 minutes today and here's what I ate:

Friday 1/04/08 food:
Club sandwich—686 cals, 5oz pork tenderloin, ½ cup green beans, med potato, smart balance—386 cals, 1 clementine—23 cals, 2 cups strawberries, 1 cup cottage cheese—255 cals, 1 med apple, weight control oatmeal, vanilla protein powder—352 cals, yougurt—60 cals, .4oz cheddar cheese—46 cals Total: 1,808 calories

So here's something I find rather interesting: religious people who wouldn't work in a restaurant that serves alcohol b/c they believe that drinking any alcohol at all is evil. Yet they work at McDonalds and have no qualms helping people to stuff themselves with unhealthy fast food. This is a predominant belief held by Baptists in my parent's church. Drinking alcohol--no matter how moderate the quantity--is a sin. But stuffing oneself full of doughnuts and Big Macs and fries is ok. Last time I looked, gluttony was a sin. Just a little hypocritical imo. Jesus drank wine-but he didn't eat french fries...haha!

I think that one should choose one's religion based on one's vices. For example, if you like to pig out on junk food, be a Baptist. If you like your booze, be a Catholic...lmao.
