BikiniBound's Diary

Worked out for 55 minutes today and here's what I ate:

Friday 1/04/08 food:
Club sandwich—686 cals, 5oz pork tenderloin, ½ cup green beans, med potato, smart balance—386 cals, 1 clementine—23 cals, 2 cups strawberries, 1 cup cottage cheese—255 cals, 1 med apple, weight control oatmeal, vanilla protein powder—352 cals, yougurt—60 cals, .4oz cheddar cheese—46 cals Total: 1,808 calories

So here's something I find rather interesting: religious people who wouldn't work in a restaurant that serves alcohol b/c they believe that drinking any alcohol at all is evil. Yet they work at McDonalds and have no qualms helping people to stuff themselves with unhealthy fast food. This is a predominant belief held by Baptists in my parent's church. Drinking alcohol--no matter how moderate the quantity--is a sin. But stuffing oneself full of doughnuts and Big Macs and fries is ok. Last time I looked, gluttony was a sin. Just a little hypocritical imo. Jesus drank wine-but he didn't eat french fries...haha!

I think that one should choose one's religion based on one's vices. For example, if you like to pig out on junk food, be a Baptist. If you like your booze, be a Catholic...lmao.

What an awesome workout and day you had! :)

And I like your observations on religion! Pretty darn funny!

Hi Kimberly

You are certainly back into the swing of things - your food looks great and you did your exercise so a few days like that will have you back at your low weight (then we see the photos).

I too was amused by your observations on religion.

Take care
Love

That's why I'm catholic. We drink every week! lol
And fast...every now and again.

And now that I've seen what you do, I'll start posting what I eat, too. Sounds like a good idea. Thanks!

Thanks for posting to my diary. I thought I'd return the favor.

That sounds like a good way to pick a religion Kimberly! LMAO

I'm having such fun on this challenge, I must admit!

Hope you're having a great day girl.

Hey girl :). Where are your ever faithful exercise and food updates missie! Anyway, its really fun how competitive everyone is being with the challenge, like Ballaryne said, its got me being very disciplined. It really does help! TTYS :).

LOL! I didn't even see this post until just now. You probably thought I posted my food and exercise b/c of your post, but I had planned on doing it anyway..lol.

The reason why I hadn't been posting my food and exercise lately is b/c the exercise was fairly non-existant, and the food has been so over the top that I stopped logging it. Yesterday was the first day I logged into fitday in ages!!

Yes, I agree about the challenge making us disciplined. That is why I was so excited about the concept. In the other challenges you cannot be eliminated so you figure, oh what the hell, I'll ---(fill in blank) b/c what's a couple of pts? In this challenge the difference between staying and going could be a tenth of a pt. You just never know. Especially this week--missing one day's bonus pts could mean elimination.

I'm glad you all liked my ideas on religion...lol.

Today's been ok. I've been at the office since 1pm. Gonna watch the Pistons/Celtics game tonight. Should be good as Detroit beat them a few weeks ago in Boston (their first and only home loss of the season), and now Boston's in Detroit to seek revenge. Detroit won their 11th straight game last night against Toronto. We'll see if they can make it 12 against the Celtics. :D I'm a little worried--I figure they're due for a loss, and the Celtics have the best record in the NBA atm. Detroit is a close 2nd.

Yes, I'm a sports nut. :sifone:

Exercise this week:

1/1—None
1/02—20 min circuit training, weight: 226
1/03—None

Banana, yogurt 153 cals, chicken/veggie stir fry 626 calories,
Coffee with cream 124 cals, cashews 163 cals, oatmeal 160 cals
Total calories: 1,657

Well, another successful day. :) I hope the scale is under 226 tomorrow.

The Pistons ended up losing. The led almost the entire game, and then blew it in the last minutes of the 4th quarter as I feared they would. :reddevil: Oh well. They will most likely end up playing the Celtics in the Eastern Conf finals this year. Should be a great best of 7 matchup.

LMAO@drill sergeant!! Sometimes I can be very compassionate. And other times I just wanna say, "Suck it up and deal with it ya big baby!!" LMAO!! Most of the time I need to say this to myself because I'm a chronic whiner....:cuss:

Brandy and Margaret--Happy Sunday to you both as well. Hope it's going well.

So far so good. Weight was 225lbs today--so down 1.5lbs from yesterday, and up 2.5lbs from my lowest weight. I got on the exercise bike for 30 min and did 10.56 miles. My calories so far today are 677, but I haven't eaten dinner yet. I'm deciding what to make--I think it's gonna be salmon.

I finished reading a book by Ann Tyler called "The Accidental Tourist." Very good read--funny and poignant. The main character starts out as a total loon--talk about eccentric! Anyway, I highly recommend it.

:waving:

Great job with exercising on a Sunday. Weekends are slower for me, but I try to get some walking in. Today I even got the dog to go with me.

Yeah, my gym is closed on Sundays, so I usually only get on my bike this time of year as the weather here isn't pleasant for walking. :)

I would think most dogs would be thrilled to go for a walk. Now if I could just get my cat to it....lol.

The weather here is currently 50 degrees, so all the snow is melting and things are getting muddy. I do miss my walks, and look forward to Spring. Only 3 months away...:ack2:

Hi BikiniBound, just stopping by to encourage you to keep up the great work. I somehow missed this challenge. It sounds fun.

Thanks for stopping by. Sign ups for the challenge began Jan 1st and the first 39 people got in. I'll be doing another challenge after this one's finished in Feb. I hope you'll join that one!
