BikiniBound's Diary

Yeah, they are very tough for me to answer. I think I got #4 handled, though. 2 down, 4 to go! :ack2:

On an unrelated note, I got measured at the gym today, and had the owner let me know what my measurements were when I joined in late January, and what they are today. So, here they are:

Jan. Nov.
Bust: 51.5" 45.75", -5.75"<- Holy Big Boobies Batman!
Waist: 45.5" 42.5", -3"
Abs: 49.75 45.75, -4
Hips: 52 43.5, -8.5
Thigh: 28 24.75 -3.25
Arm: 14 14.5 +.5
Weight: 277.5 226
BMI: 42.3 36.6 -5.7%
Lbs of fat on my body: Start: 117 current: 83.5 -33.5lbs
Total inches lost: 27.25. I am very happy with how I look below the waist..lol. But being an apple means I'm top heavy. My waist is only 1" smaller than my hips. :ack2:

Congrats on the inches lost! That is great!:pumpkin::conehead::pumpkin:

Wow, you've done really well Star! Just awesome that you've been so consistent about doing things to change your life in a positive way. Often weight loss is a nice impetus to achieve other things for yourself, and I think that'll be happening very soon for you :).

Please keep in mind that passing the written exam is very difficult--only about 30% of the people who take it pass. I like my chances for it, though. But..then you have to go on to the next interview phase which is oral and would take place all day in Chicago. That is very grueling. If one passes that, you have to get a medical and background clearance. I believe they have about 33,000 people apply for the written exam, and take about 500 people per year. So....it's probably not gonna happen for me. However, I'll never know unless I try. :)

I don't have a doubt in my mind that you'll do well, honey. Afterall, you're a fackin' brainiac. Hell, you're even "thankful" for that it seems. (Way to put that in your Holiday Challenge.. it cracked me up. LOL) I agree with everyone in saying just go in and do it. Also, if you do become a US Diplomat, I can soooo brag about my Amazon US Dimplomat girlfriend who loves Kim Chee. HA! Love you, honey. By the way.... your measurements and weight loss... freaking astonishing, girl! You lost a WHOLE lot off of them hips! 8 1/2 inches..... pardon me.... my mind's starting to wander to perv world. :p

WooHoo I could refer to your "Diplomatic Pouch" then !:D LOL
Haha! I actually interviewed with the State Dept in January for a job as a diplomatic courier--those are the ones who deliver the diplomatic pouches. But, I didn't get the job. :(

Sounds like change/oppurtunity knocking at your door. Good luck jumping over the hurdles they've laid out for you. It sounds like you would be highly qualified for this job. Maybe Diplomat to a sunny tropical island nation with lots of white sandy beaches? :D[/QUOTE]

As I could very well be sent to Africa if I get in, tropical, sandy beaches are highly possible. :)

Je parle francais...or is it j'parle francais...see I am confused already. Although I could read your statement, I always could read it better than write it!

The two things that come back to me easily are absolutely useless. Mystere et boule de gomme (Mystery and gumballs, which is the french version of "for me to know and you to find out") and How to ask for a light (useless as I do not smoke, but used as a pick up line in the french class I toook). I cannot even remember how to spell it, only say it.

Je parle francais--you had it right the first time. :) Mystere et boule de gomme--I think you studied the same book I did in college--with Mireille et Robert and her bratty little sister Marie-Laure. And then there was l'homme en noir. I still have that book..lol. Avez-vous de fou? I think that's how you ask for a light--not sure on the spelling of fire..lol.

Yep, Mireille and Robert! It was something like "Esqe vous-avez de feu?" I can say it clearly, but my frecnch spelling is horrible!

I am also continously remembering "Je suis Batman" when ever I see a spork...cause in H.S. we watched Batman in french and he says that when he introduces himself, so later at Taco Bell one of my friends broke the middle tines off a spork (making it look like batman's head) and said that repeatedly. And, yes, my friend had been drinking!

Well I didn't meant to make ya cry. Unless it was a good cry then by all means it was totally on purpose!
I cried b/c what you said was so sweet--so I guess it was a good cry. :)

Well I dunno what you could possible do to clue your H in on the reality that is your world. It sounds like he is living in his own lil space.
I don't know, either. I'm toying with the idea of asking him if he realizes he's losing me. We are getting on well again..sigh...I'm so torn about what to do.:ack2:

Just know you have a support network right here online and whatever you decide to do you'll have lots of backup!:hug2:

Thanks, dear. I know y'all are here for me, and you don't know how much I appreciate it! :beating:

I am fairly confident that I'll pass the written exam--the oral interview is another story. I'm smarter than the average cookie, but I'm by no means a "fackin' brainiac." I'm sure you're smarter than I am. :D

yes, I had not much of an ass to start with and guess where I lost the most inches? lmao oh well--i can fit back into my fav mini-skirt now. :D

Tomorrow is THE game day. Oh, I hope Mich wins!!!

Things with the H are better--we are on good terms again. :ack2: For how long? Who knows. He will be gone most of the day tomorrow, so I can watch football without listening to him groan about how much he hates football...lmao. I am toying with the idea of asking him if he realizes he's losing me--and if he cares. I think he does care, I just don't know if he's capable of doing what needs to be done to keep me. :willy_nilly::willy_nilly:

Hubby hates football?! What a crazy guy! :willy_nilly:

My Saturday is pretty much dependent on Michigan winning... James will be all sorts of pissed off if they lose!

So - GO MICHIGAN!

Yes, my Sundays tend to be ruled by whether the Cowboys win or lose. I even have to hope the CB win when they're playing the NY Giants, the team I used to love about 20 years ago when I was VERY into football (and I always hated their arch rivals, the CB). Now I'm a traitor in the interests of H being happy and in a great mood! Ha ha. You sports enthusiasts are NUTS! No offense BB :D.

BB, it IS so hard to decide what to do when things are going along OK and with no arguments. Did you stop going to the counselor? Is it basically his career issues that get you the most or his lack of communication or what. What would be the main change needed to make things work?

Hi Kimberly

I am pleased that things with H are a little better. If you can communicate with him I would think that it can only help - even if just helping a decision to be made and a conclusion be reached. At the moment you seem to be in the purgatory "in between".

The diplomatic opportunity certainly sounds like it is worth pursuing. I cannot see that you have anything to lose by investigating and giving an application a go. The questions sound challenging - and it must be very difficult / almost impossible to find reference witnesses.

The only good thing is that all the other applicants will have the same impossible criteria imposed on their witnesses.

One thing that you know is true is that because of your weight loss project your medical results will be so good now. In the past your weight could have held you back but it should not now. You know that you are fit - you have done daily exercise for some time. Your excellent loss in inches should enhance your confidence for the interview too.

I hope that you enjoy your football. Maybe shouting for your team will be good for you. Many people find it helps to get stress, tension and aggression out of their system.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Oh Sister You know I'll be rooting for your Boys all the way over here!! I'll try to scream REALLY LOUD when they get their touchdowns for you!!! GO WOLVERINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kick some assss today!!!! :hurray::hurray:

I'm so seriously syked over all those inches you've worked out, DAMN GIRL, do you REALLY see how great you have done??? Everything must be hanging off of you now. What I think makes me the most happy so far, is the shirts/blouses I'm able to put on and not feel like I'm going to rip it around the backside or around my upper arm area, that is what I loved about losing the inches. I was okay with most of my body, but my upper arms, I wanted them gone FIRST! Does your H ever tell you how wonderful you are looking?? I just wonder if he sees the transformation, he has got to, that's just to many inches not to see it.

I'm proud of you!! And I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to meet you on this website, you inspire me in a way you don't even know. THANKS!!:hurray:
