BikiniBound's Diary

Sheesh woman, can't you find some power somewhere so you can log on? I need to discuss The Diet with you! I'm trying to start it today but right now I'm starving because the salad with chicken I got was totally nasty and I can't eat it. What the hell else can I eat right now that has no carbs? This is becoming an emergency, I'm starting to get BB withdrawals!

Sorry Blancita! Didn't know my absence would drive you over the edge! lmbo. :rotflmao: Just shove some more bacon in your mouth and deal with it..:rotflmao: Here's my advice--read up on the Atkins diet--get some menus from that. You can basically eat any kind of fish, poultry and meat (try to keep it lean), modest amounts of cheese, all the lettuce you want, moderate amounts of non-starchy veggies such as broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, summer squash, spinach, bell peppers, etc. No corn, carrots or potatoes. You can have mayo, butter and olive oil (as much as you want). Go easy on the fruit. If you need some, stick to berries and melons. Apples are full of carbs, peaches are so/so. Bananas are very high, citrus is medium. You can deduct the fiber grams from you total carbs. So if the total carbs are 10g, but there are 4g of fiber, the net carbs are 6. The 6 is what you would count. Here's a carb counter website that gives you the net carbs as well.

So the power stayed off until 8:35 this morning. When it came on I was ready to jump for joy. My mom is sitting in the living room fiddling with the TV remote, and my H and I are telling her to get in the damn shower in case the power goes out again. She hadn't showered since Wednesday morning..lol. So just after she got out of the shower--at 9:15, the damn power went out again!!! I was ready to cry..lol. Finally, at 12:15, it came on again. So I'm running around like a crazy woman throwing laundry in the wash, vacuuming, running the dishwasher, cleaning the toilet, etc scared to death that the power was gonna go out again..lmbo:rotflmao: So far, so good. So it was out for 38hrs before it came on the first time, and then out for another 3--so out for 41hrs total!!! Muthafackas...lol

I drove to my gym and worked out. They were without power all day yesterday. It started raining hard while I was at the gym, and I was afraid the power would be out when I got home. I said that if it was, and this heavy rain kept up, I would just shower out in the back yard and give the neighbors a little show... :rotflmao: But the power was on, and I got my shower and even shaved my legs! Woohoo. So I am happy today....:jump: :jump:

So far I've eaten 2scrambled eggs with onion, green pepper, 1 roma tomato, sliced deli turkey, and a bit of shredded cheddar cheese. And a package of pepperoni..lmbo. The fridge is bare b/c I usually do the shopping on Thursdays, and with the power out the last thing I wanted to do was buy a bunch of perishable food items!!

Heya Kimberly!
So your power has still been out on ya. And here I figured you were just busy off doing alot of horseback riding :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I hope the hot electric company guys get you all straightened out so you can get back to your normal routine. Don't stress on your extra indulgences with the hash browns or cookies. Chalk it up to being the power companies fault!:hug2: :hug2:

Ha! NO horseback riding when the power's out b/c there's no water to clean up afterwards...

Oh, and my damn internet is not working at home. Not sure why not. The cable is fine, just the internet. So I'm here at my office.

My weigh in this am was 238.5--up 1/2lb from yesterday--so not as bad as I feared. Still up 2.5lbs from my lowest weigh in...grr....

Hi BB,

I'm just stopping in to say hi! I hope you get your power back on soon. Here in CT we don't get too many "weather related" power issues, so when we do get one that goes on for days it's a royal pain in the butt.

I feel for you.

Last time we got one was 10 years ago it knocked power out at the office. So we couldn't work for a couple of days (Yay!) On the second day, the Boss drives over to ask me to come in anyway to work on a project. It's dark in the engineering office even with all the windows, so he literally holds a flashlight over my shoulder so I can see my drawing board (pre CAD) to draw! Next day he goes out and buys a 30 kW generator.

I hope things are fixed soon and don't worry too much about the hash browns!

David C

Thanks for dropping in. Damn! Your boss sounds like a slavedriver! My dad used to do the drawing board thing, and then CAD later on. He is currently wheeling and dealing with a co-worker over a generator. This power outage was the last straw for him...lol I guess it won't run the A/C, but it will run everything else--including the fans and the water--which is the most important thing imo.

Hey a 1/2 lb isn't that bad , you can knock that back out in no time!
Have you tried the old "resetting your cable modem" ?

I never thought I'd be able to say "I am home on a Friday night reading about someone else's bowel movements." I am catching up on all I missed in my busyness this week...so...Hi, looks like your colon works well. LOL.

I wish you luck with your electricity. Having no electricity, no water and no horsy rides sucks. And not in the fun happy way.

You just can't get a break, can you?! Now no home internet? That's like losing a limb or **gasp** the TV. LOL. I prefer the net to TV, hate when its out.

Thanks for the info, I pretty much knew the food groups you could have because I had already read a bunch of articles about high protein diets and how superior they seem to be in getting weight off. Problem is actually thinking of something you FEEL like eating at the time. Like you start losing your appetite and have more and more difficulty getting down some meat when you [think] you really need something soothing and easy like a bagel or yogurt. So I ended up popping into a deli that had nuts, blueberries and plain yogurt. The yogurt was absolutely nasty, so never again to that little experiment. The nuts made me feel better and the berries instantly did as well, but then I had 2 italian sausages and that also helped. I'm still feeling hungry but certainly no uncontrollable munchies like usual. So all in all a success today at 42 net carbs. Guess the berries put me over the 30.

When I was actually losing my weight (its been a few months now) I would always hit a *new low*, then immediately go back up 2 pounds. After a bit the 2 lbs would go down again and I'd start fluctuating between the *new low* and 2 pounds higher. But the 2 pounds higher were still lower than my prior week's upward fluctuation. And so on. So the higher fluctuations dont matter as long as they're lower than last weeks higher fluctuations.

Actually, it was probably the yogurt that put you over--not the berries. Yogurt is full of carbs b/c of the sweetener they put in it. I've been craving yogurt for days now..lol

Yeah, the 2-3lb fluctuation is okay, it's just that I haven't gotten below it for over a week now, so "George is gettin' frustrated!!" A little Seinfeld humor.

It was plain yogurt with 12 net carbs and I only had about a 1/4 of it because it was so gross. Yeah, its a shame I can't have my fruit yogurt right now, but its only a few days in my life.

If it were just a 1/2lb I wouldn't care, but I'm still up 2.5lbs from my low weight of 236.
Doh! Shows how much I was paying attention huh ! I'm sorry . :hug2:

How would I reset this?

Well on my modem you can either unplug it and let is cycle thru again and see if it'll reconnect or there should be a small pinhole located on the back somewhere. Press it with a needle and it'll reset . Usually . Yours might not be like that though.

Got it working again. Yay!! Back in business. Thanks!

Exercise for this week:
8/20--40min circuit training
8/21--3mile walk with IT in 45min
8/22--40min circuit training
8/24--40min circuit training

Food for today:
meal#1--eggs with onion, green pepper, 1 roma tomato, sliced deli turkey, and a bit of shredded cheddar cheese
meal#2--3oz of pepperoni
meal#3--bowl of broccoli and cauliflower with a bit of shredded cheese, 2 cheesy sausage links
meal#4--bowl of strawberries, 1/3 of a choc chip cookie
meal#5--5oz of beef round steak, small bowl of green beans
meal#6--4 thin slices of cheddar cheese, 1 slice of deli roast beef
Approx. 30g of total carbs

So other than the bit of cookie, I am very pleased with myself today. Also  TMI WARNING!! Today I was once, twice, three times dumper...:rotflmao: Ok, that is the last you will be hearing about this subject. It's really gross and rather personal..And I've just about had enough of this shit. It's time to cut the crap...:rotflmao: There, I've got it out of my system,,,:rotflmao: So Sheryl, Jenna, and Rena, if you still have a twisted desire to know about this daily thing, i will be happy to PM you a daily report. But I think the rest of you are quite happy to not have to read about it. haha.

Well, the power has stayed on and I've figured out how to get my internet back on. Yay! So life is back to normal. Tomorrow afternoon we are going to a wedding reception at Lake Michigan. It should be pretty good now that the nasty weather is behind us. Boy has the bride been nervous about that the last week. Hehe. I love Lake Michigan, so I am really looking forward to it. This is the first weekend I've had completely off in ages--so I am rather pleased about that.

I have a really good feeling about tomorrow's weigh in..lol. We'll see. If i can just be back down to 236 i will be happy. If I'm below that I will be elated. And if I can find the disk that has my resume on it, I'll be fackin' euphoric.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!:jump:

Have fun at the wedding. I'm curious to see how you'll do on this low carb phase at a freakin wedding of all things. I would probably cave instantly but I'm hoping I'll hear otherwise from you. I really want to see how this diet works for us if we're really strict. I'll probably keep it up for a few weeks before I cave, if even that long.

Oh wait, does that mean you can't drink? How about having a couple of vodkas with nasty Diet Coke. I believe straight up alcohol is not a carb (unlike beer?).

I'm gonna do my best! No wedding cake, for sure. I can drink wine and liquor, so rum and diet coke, here I come...lol or wine, which i like, too.

I was sooooo bummed at this am's weigh in. After eating well yesteday, exericising, and the subject I'm not talking about here anymore:)eek: ) I thought I'd lose quite a bit, maybe even drop below 236. The  alone was probably 3-5lbs..:rotflmao: So I was pissed when the scale said 237.5. Dammit, dammit, dammit. I swear nothing I do seems to be working, and I think I'm going to be 236 forever. Very depressing. And I'm still trying to work out what I'm going to wear to this damn wedding. No matter what I wear, I'm gonna feel fat and ugly today. Sigh. Ok, I'll stop whining and moaning..lol S

So when I whined to my H about all this, his response was, "Join the Army!" WTF??? So he got a glare in return. Maybe he was trying to be silly to make me laugh, but it failed miserably. :boxing:

I just sneezed and woke up my cat who let me know rather vocally that he was not pleased about this..:rotflmao: :rotflmao: He is too funny.

Ok, I'm going to make myself snap out of this. :jump:

Oh Kimberly , I'm sorry you didn't lose the rest of that weight. You will though . I know you will . Just keep doing what you are doing and you'll see.
As for "joining the Army", just chalk it up to an attempt at humor . That's what it had to be I would think . What'd be funny is if you had an army surplus store nearby . You could go by some army gear and march in the house and bark some orders ! :rotflmao: Would you like to be a Colonel or a General ? *L*:hug2:

Sorry you weren't where you wanted to be at the weigh in. I am sure your plateau will be short lived, you've been doing so well with your diet.

Dont worry BB, you'll get below 236 for sure! If this doesn't work, then you'll try something else.

The army comment is sort of funny, you must admit. I mean, a short tour in Iraq or Afghanistan would certainly help beat this plateau so he's actually right in all his sarcasm. OK, that's beside the point but men I know never tend to be very sympathetic, except for our lovely men on WLF.

Hope you had a fun time at the wedding!
