BikiniBound's Diary

And what is all this getting on the scales two days ago business!!!??? What happened to my pal who cannot bear not to hop onto the scales EVERY day??? Whilst weekly weighing seems to be the expert advice - I am not so sure that it is the best thing for people that are natural daily weighers. I know that if I wasnt getting on the scales every day - it would be a symptom of me putting my head in the sand.

I seem to remember that you were on those scales every day when you were getting the best weight loss results. I would be doing it again if I were you.

Hey :)

So I only read your very first post then like the last two pages, maybe one day I'll have enough time to read all of these pages, lol

Anyway, I would love to hear updates from you. How old is your baby? My son is almost 6 months. :)

I see Oct. 16th is an important date for you. That's my daughters birthday, she will be 4 yrs old, and I would like to look pretty good in pictures by then, lol So hey maybe we can motivate each other. haha

Well, I hope all is well w/ you. I will check back in!

I don't have much time to reply.

Margaret--I don't know what's wrong with me. I often forget to weigh first thing in the morning b/c of the baby. And there is no point once I've eaten. It isn't that I'm avoiding it, just forgetting until it's too late.

I am bringing May with me to the tailgate party--it's for families, so she will hopefully take their minds off my weight..lol.

Nik--May is also nearly 6 months. She was born on April 5th, so I suspect our babies are very close in age. I'd type more, but she is crying and it's time to get her off to bed.

Weighing only takes a moment so I know that you have the time. It is just a question of you remembering before eating. Ideas - put a note on the bathroom door saying "get weighed". Keep your toothbrush near the scales. Maybe a note on the cereal box or on May's nappies...

I wouldnt be weighing after eating either. I have eaten today (travelling back from Newcastle) and am not setting foot near scales...

Either way - no one is going to notice what you weigh. Everyone is just going to be gushing over May and they will hardly look at you. It's a shame really because you have lost quite a lot of weight and you carry the weight that you do have well. I remember thinking last summer that you looked a whole lot slimmer than I had when I had your BMI.

I can't believe it's already been six months since you had the baby! I remember waiting around FOREVER while you were pregnant for the baby to come!

Margaret--I never said I didn't have to to weigh myself--it's a matter of remembering. Before we moved our bedroom down to the basement, the scales were on the floor of the main floor bathroom. But the basement bathroom is too small to keep them on the floor, so I have to stow them in the sink cabinet--which makes them out of sight out of mind..lol. then dh went and took them back to the upstairs bathroom which I don't use nearly as much as the other one--especially in the morning. Sooo it makes it hard to remember. I do need to give myself a reminder or something, but I did weigh today and was up a pound from the last time. Not a huge surprise since I ate a lot of bad things yesterday while watching football..lol. What is it about watching football and eating junkfood?? Perhaps I will make Saturdays my naughty eating day as a reward for eating well the rest of the week.

Nik--Our babies are only 2 days apart! Yours was a month early, and mine was two weeks late!

LowFatMilk--Yep, the time is going by fast. She'll be 6 months in a couple of weeks. Here are some recent pics:

She is beautiful - as ever.

I knew that you were wanting to weigh yourself - just forgetting at the right time... I was just trying to think of ways that you could try to remind yourself. I know how I forget things. I carry lists of things that I have to do every time that I go out...

As far as eating the wrong things goes - my weight is up today too (I can feel it is without weighing myself - my clothes feel tighter). We were up in Newcastle and ate out last night - curry and rice is not a low calorie option. Heaven knows how much fat and sodium were in it. White rice (even boiled) is one of the things that I know that I should avoid too! I am far from saintly myself...

I have no reason to believe that you will not do fine if you eat wisely on 6 days if you allow yourself a bit of leniency on a Saturday as a reward. Lots of people on the forum seem to lose weight nicely on such a process. Give it a try for a while and see what the scales say. They will soon tell you whether it is ok for you or not.

LOL I LOVE the butterfly on her booty!! I can't believe how big she is getting! David will be 5 months on Wednesday! It's amazing how fast time goes!
I hope you are doing well!
My brother had some success with the 6 days on 1 day off concept. I usually schedule myself treat days for the month. They are flexible in when they are but strict as in there are only 2 or 3! lol

I feel like an alien in here with all this talk of chilluns and such, but Hey Kimberly, howz it going? My kids are long past those stages at 20 and 22 now. You only recently brought yours into the household, I'm trying to get mine out...:biggrinjester:

Thanks for stopping by. The "3" was a big psych barrier for me.

Well, I've weighed myself everyday this week, and it has made a slight difference. Need to up the exercise, or at least be more consistant with it.

Thanks all for the compliaments re May. She is the joy of my life. Just watching her grow and develope everyday amazes me sometimes. We just got back from a walk to buy a Sunday paper at the pharmacy. I could have it delivered, but this gives me a push and shove to go for a walk every Sunday..lol. Plus it saves me 50cents a week...lol. It's about 35min roundtrip--not a huge walk, but it is better than nothing.

I am attempting to make a puff pastry dough from scratch. It is very time consuming. I did not realize how intricate it is. And with a lb of butter in it, oh so very diet-friendly...hahaha I plan to make sausage rolls for our neighbors who are moving away--so I won't be consuming much of it.

She's such a beauty!! I can't believe she is already approaching 6 months, it goes too fast. My Bella will be 3 on sunday!! It make me wanna cry.

Ok, it's time to start with the "What!? You haven't had that baby yet??" comments. :biggrinjester: I can't believe it could happen anyday now. I don't know about you, but your pregnancy has FLOWN BY for me..lol. Did you get everything done with your house that you wanted to??

Yeah, it flew by for me too. I think keeping up with Bella really made the time fly. Nope, I didn't even get close to finishing the house. Too much has been happening lately. Part of the painting is finished and I STILL haven't gotten to the kitchen backsplash. Sean's schedule has been insane so it's been difficult getting anything done. We have to put the house up for sale in the spring so we have a few months to finish. We are, however, ready for the baby to arrive save for packing my hospital bag and stocking my freezer with casseroles. I'll be finishing all those final tasks this week. Bella is getting excited with all the new baby stuff in the house. LOL!

Did you agree on a name yet?? :sifone: You think the baby will come early? Any dialation yet? I think it's so cool we'll have daughters only 6 months apart.

We have the middle name, but still no first name. We have a list and when she's born, we'll decide which fits better.

Went to the doc today and I'm 50% effaced and dilated almost to 2. He said she could come pretty much any day, especially since I went from 0-9 dilation in a day with Annabelle. It's just a waiting game right now. I've been having some pretty severe contractions but they aren't getting close just yet. I have a weird feeling she'll come in the next 7-10 days. I could be wrong, since you can never predict this stuff. With Annabelle, the doc told me to come back in 11 days to be induced because it didn't look like it would be any time soon. I went into labor the next day! I've got my fingers crossed!!

I'm pleased that the weighing every day has made some sort of difference. Even those slight ones can add up.

Walking on a Sunday is a good move. Those little bits of activity can make the biggest difference both now while trying to lose weight and for keeping up the lifestyle in maintenance.

I have never tried to make puff pastry - having always resorted to buying the blocks of ready made stuff. I wouldnt dare do it now though. I wouldnt be able to trust myself to follow through and actually give them away. I think that I would devour the lot and then be stuck with what to give the neighbours...
