BikiniBound's Diary

So two of the March mommas on the pregnancy forum I joined (my due date was March 21st so I assumed incorrectly that I would be a March momma) have already gotten pregnant again! One of them miscarried a few days ago. Neither of them were breastfeeding, but i was nervous just the same as were haven't been using any bc. So I bought a pg test and was relieved that it came back negative..lol. I do want to have another baby soon, but not that soon! :svengo: I hope to get knocked up again in Sept~Novish.

Anyway, I was curious to find out just how good a bc method BFing is so I did some research. Apparently if you are exclusively BFing, baby is less than 6mo old and the red devil hasn't returned, it is 98% effective! If baby is older than 6mo it is 94% effective. But once TOM returns it is no longer effective at all bc it basically delays ovulation (which I knew). However, there is a one in three chance that you can ovulate before your first period, and this is how some women "accidentally" get pg. Anyway, I was surprised at those percentages. I thought they'd be lower.

wow knocked up so soon! I couldn't manage 2 kiddos so close.... lol of course we are planning to try for child number 3 when David is 1.
I just can't get over your forum friends are already pregnant after only a few months!! lol Not looking forward to being pregnant again!!
My little guy is doing very well. He is gurgling and growing. He is huge!! Already 15lbs and over 2 feet long. Heavy little guy:D Keeps my arms toned lol. Still not sleeping well through the night which is very frustrating but in theory it will happen some day?? lol I can't wait to feel a bit "normal" again instead of like the walking dead. I was spoiled with my first. He started sleeping through the night at 2 months! He still sleeps very well. My mom thought that maybe David sleeps like me: I am a VERY light sleeper. I hope not but she might be right. My first son can sleep through vacuuming right under him!! lol It's definitely an adventure. I had always heard that each kid is very different from the first but I don't think I really got it until I had 2 :D
Here are a few pics to share with you:) They just grow so fast!!

Thanks BB!

Pregnant again?? Gah!!! BUT, I will have to say that had my first pregnancy gone as well as this one then I may have been more willing.

So another one soon??? You're a brave woman!! Everybody will tell you this and pretty much every mom thinks there child will be different, but when they hit their two's they really come into their own. Bella is exhausting!!!! She's not a bad kid, just energetic and mischievous. VERY much of both! Plus the independence is heartbreaking! So having two that close in age will definitely keep you busy!!

So sorry to hear about your mom. I hope they get her straightened out soon so she enjoy her new granddaughter. You're in my thoughts!

Wow he is a cute little chunker..lol May is a week older and only weighs a bit over 13lbs. She was 24in at her 2 month appt, so I'm guessing she's about 25-26in atm. She's super long.

May was sleeping 4-5hr stretches since birth, and quickly started sleeping 5-6hrs at a time. Now it's usually 7-9hrs per night. I guess I'm really lucky. I sure hope the next one sleeps well, too, as I don't think I stand the sleep deprivation. I need my sleep!!

I like the idea of getting out of the baby phase all at once..lol. Not that I don't love the baby phase, but they are so dependent upon you then that it makes it hard to get out and do things. I'm so tied to the baby now. I'll be sad when the baby years are over, but in a way I'll be glad as I won't be so tied down. Also, as dh and I both have small nuclear families, and his is all the way in Australia, it'll be good for May to have a close in age sibling. They'll always have each other--even after dh and I are gone--hopefully they will both outlive us!! I can't imagine dealing with that. :svengo:

Anyway, I am back to getting serious about losing weight. Usually I can eat a lot without gaining--just maintain--but lately I have been mowing down and have put on 10lbs over the last month!! I want to be losing that much per month. :banghead: So I am logging everything into fitday again. Went for a 1.5hr walk yesterday. i've actually already exercised 3.5hrs this week, so I'm doing ok on that front, just have to get the eating under control. I quit weighing myself everyday and look what happened...

I LOVED Bella's first year. But I find that as she gets older, I am still just as infatuated with her. They get such a personality as they grow. She and I just had breakfast together in the nook. I had coffee and she had juice which she calls her "coffee". :) I am so happy you're enjoying the rewards that come with being a mom. I am really looking forward to this next one. I never had a sister and am so happy Bella will have one to grow up with.

Way to go on the exercise! I've heard that breastfeeding can make you hungrier more often, maybe that's what's going on. I've had many friends gain weight after having the baby. It's crazy that you are since the weight practically fell off you in a few weeks!!! Gotta be the hormones. Good luck with getting back on track, I know you can do it!!

Hey sexy!!!

Hope everything is going well! May is so beautiful! I think Amy is right I loved the baby years, but my favorite was the toddler years, my sons were so damn funny together, they said the cutest things, You will laugh all the time, you watch!.

I do find I was pretty lucky with the boys they never had a tantrum in public or at home for that matter, they were very good 2-3 year olds, and they never required I hold them 24/7 as long as they were in the same room with me, they would play on the floor for hours, they were awesome! I miss those days, I really do!

Hugs!

They need a zip code and it will not accept my postcode.

Is there a dummy zip code that would probably work?....

I am away from home so I cannot look up anyone's address to sort out the format and if I leave it for a week until I get home I am bound to forget.

There must be others outside the USA that want to vote for May...

See above post. Sorry! :(

Well, I think I finally found a way to get some motivation to eat properly..lol Dh grew a beard shortly after May was born and I HATE it! Yes, I do hate it with every fiber of my being. Dh loves it as much as I hate it..lol. So we have been struggling with this issue..lol. So today we agreed that when I get to 216lbs (my low before getting pregnant) he will shave the beard off that very day--no excuses. So now I'm gonna work my ass off to shed those 12lbs asap! :smilielol5: Then, once I get below 200lbs he'll have to shave it again if he's started to grow it back. It's a win-win situation, He is happy bc he gets to keep his beard longer without me nagging him to shave it off--and he gets a thinner wife. I will get rid of this weight and dh's beard. :sifone:

I have eaten well for 3 of the last 4 days. :hurray:

I had gotten down to 221lbs while mil was here, but since went back up to 232. Went back down to 228 a few days ago.

It is sad this is what motivates me. :smilielol5:

Any sign of the beard coming off?

I wish! Apparently not even my hatred for that seems to give me any will power. It's really sad. I've tried to be halfway decent today. I have a class reunion/tailgate party before my high school's homecoming football game on Oct 16th. I would really like to be thinner and have dh be clean shaven for former classmates I haven't seen in 9yrs (since our 10yr reunion). At this rate, even if I put my nose to the grindstone, I don't think I'll be lucky enough to get back to my pre-preg weight by then. *sigh* I weighed myself two days ago and was 237. That's 20lbs higher than my pre-preg weight!! Not much of a chance to lose 20lbs in one month :banghead:

Don't give up! Post pregnancy hunger sucks!! I am struggling as well but whether it's for a reunion or not losing weight will feel good so lose what you can and don't stress that your not 20lbs thinner by reunion. It just takes time and especially with all your body has gone through and is still going through!
btw- I love the pics of May with her tongue sticking out:) She is such a cutie! Even though those were a month ago :p Isn't it great when they laugh and smile? I just love it!

I would go armed with a heap of photos of May - and people will be so busy looking at the pictures of her and gushing about what a beauty she is I doubt that anyone will even notice that you are a pound heavier than your pre-pregnancy weight.

I know that I was around 200 pounds when it was my school reunion in 2007 (and you know that I am quite a lot shorter than you). I had visions of being one of the cuddliest people there and would not have gone if I had still been my biggest size. Well there were loads of people at much the same weight as me. There was one woman who I remember was one of the skinniest ones in the year when we were at school - and she was pretty much the size that I was at my heaviest. For such events we tend to focus on the fact that we have got heavier than we were at school. The fact is that there is a global obesity epidemic going on and it is hitting people that we were at school with too. Rounding out a little seems to come quite naturally with age for many people.

Having said that - reunions can sometimes be great motivators - and maybe yours can get you to harness your willpower and knock off some of those pounds. You are one of the most knowledgeable people on the forum when it comes to knowing what to do to get a good and healthy rate of weight loss.

I know that for literally years you logged your food in fitday consistently in a way that I could never bring myself to do. If you have been giving it a miss recently - give it a go... It is possible that something high sodium has crept in and your gain is not all fat. Seeing the numbers (not just calories) might encourage you to lift your game a little - either on the nutrition or exercise side.

The worst thing that we can do is decide that the task is too hard and do nothing... I spent years doing that.
