Hi I'm new, well old, but returned! :)

I enjoyed reading your last few pages of posts.. you sound a lot like me.. I love the nicname 'scalentino' it's hilarious! Do you mind if I use it too!?

I know how you feel when you are SOOOO good and scalentino turns his back on you! bastard! lol

Hi Kimberly

I hope that you get back to 219. I have visions of you staring longingly at pizza waiting for the scales to say 219 so that you can eat pizza and allow your weight to go up. It sounds like a real see-saw ride of torment that you are on - never knowing until you get on the scales whether you will be aiming for 1300 or 2500 calories.

Well done for coming in at 1385 again. That is a low number and does deserve a good result at the scales. Especially since you are getting the exercise in. I always feel like I am having a good day when I think "well I have my long walk in - whatever I eat - no-one can take the walk away".

I must have been being good for too long - the chicken and veggie stir fry sounds as appetizing to me as normal pizza (now if you are talking cheese stuffed crust that may be a different matter)!

I hope that you are having a good Sunday.

Take care
Love
Margaret

She does strength train, 3x week if I remember correctly.

Yes, I've been doing ST since I started this over a year ago. It varies how often, but at least twice a week, and usually 3X or more. Last week was 3X. During the challenges I will often do 3hrs of it per week. I have found that increasing my exercise does little to get me over plateaus. :banghead:

bringingsexybac--Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to use Scalentino. He can be a real prick sometimes. :D But today he was nice. Down to 219.5, so just a half lb up from my lowest. Today I will be eating more.

I already had some leftover pizza and breadsticks..lol. Just one slice, though--I didn't go crazy. :D The pizza was cheese stuffed crust. :D I prefer thin crust myself.

I probably won't do any exercise today, but I've already got in 3hrs this week, so that was my goal. Today I'm aiming for about 2000 calories, which will seem like a lot after the last two days. :D So far I've eaten 702. Actually, a bit less than that b/c I haven't actually eaten all of the food I logged in. :biggrinjester: I am honestly surprised that I wasn't stark raving famished by so few cals, but I think getting in so much lean protein helped a lot. I cannot believe I was able to get in over 100g of protein and 30+g of fiber in under 1400 calories.

That stirfry was good--I added some vindaloo paste to it. I still have a fair bit leftover, so I may have it for dinner tonight or lunch tomorrow. The veggies in it were zucchini, onion, mushroom, broccoli, cauliflower, corn, red bell pepper, fresh garlic and tomato. I also added some tarragon for seasoning.

oooooooh!!! :hurray: finally!! scalentino is learning! is it a 2500 day then????

I'm with Marg on this, Kimmy. I'm rooting for you to get back to 219.

Leftover pizza kills me, it really does. On Friday, after my last bball game, I went out with some of the team to Pizza Hut. What I love about the restaurant, is their salad bar. Of course, I ordered it, but also ate two pieces of stuffed crust pizza. I tried so hard to resist but I simply couldn't. I figured though, "You know what, I just ran up and down a bball court for fortyfive minutes, I can eat this." And I did and it was good and I won't again for a while. I just figure, if I *do* treat myself, I just have to take it easy for the days following. If I didn't treat myself, I'd go crazy.

The fact that you were able to resist eating more than one slice is admirable. It takes SO MUCH willpower, I know, but when we do it, guh, we just feel AMAZING and proud. I love that feeling.

Did you make the stir-fry yourself? My favorite is a compilation that's sold in the freezer aisle. I just add soy sauce, garlic and onion powder to it. I can't go without my onion powder. It gives my food so much kick.

I hope you're having a good weekend!!

Rae--I always make the stirfries from scratch. That way I can control the sodium content, etc. The pizza was easier to resist last night than I thought it would be. And today, I just wasn't hungry enough to eat more than one slice--it was a pretty big slice, though. Well, H did eat a big bite of it. :biggrinjester: I think that if you just spent 45min running up and down a bb court, you can afford to eat a bit o pizza. ;)

Angel--As I'm down to 219.5, I'm not being strict today. I think I'll aim for 2,000.

I'm not expecting a low tomorrow--just not to be up much above 220. The whole point of this thing I'm doing is to get my body reset so that I'm maintaining at 2500 calories, and not the 1700-1800 that it appears to be. :cuss:

I am so glad the lbs are coming back down. 219.5 Woot!!

I didn't know you did weights, I must have missed that in your diary somewhere. I hope the refeed helps get your metabolism up and running again.

So who was playing BB, you or your H? lkhj lkdskjgkj nb bn bnvbbb

Would you like to adopt a beautiful 17-month-old little girl? Bella Boo keeps banging on the keyboard. She typed you a nice little message of baby gibberish after that last entry. :)

My ST is circuit training at my gym. It's the Curves type workout we've discussed before. ;) I work those machines pretty hard, so I'm sure it's doing something. :biggrinjester: I also have a Turbo Jam ST DVD that I do once in awhile. It's full of squats, lunges, ab work, push ups, crunches, resistance bands and 3 and 10lb dumbells.

Neither H nor I was playing basketball. I was referring to Rae's bb playing. I suck at bb, and have never enjoyed playing it. :D

I was wondering what that gibberish was. lol I would adopt Bella, but I'm sure her mom and dad would have some serious problems with that. ;)

Well, the calories are where I wanted them, but my food choices were poor--too much fat and sodium.

I came home from the office to find my dad in a raging fury--his own words. :biggrinjester: It takes a lot to piss my dad off, but my cousin managed to do it. A little background: my dad's older brother (killed in a car accident in the late 80s) and his wife never had a good marriage. They were separated for yrs b/c she wouldn't divorce him as she's Catholic. They had one child, my dumbass cousin. Well, my aunt is pretty looney--so was her mother. I guess it runs in the family. She is 60, and lives off disability and suing people (like a supermarket where she fell). My cousin is a lazy leech who is a single father (his son's mama's a druggie in another state--yeah, he's made some great life choices, let me tell ya. ). Anyway, the three of them live together in a house that is on the verge of being foreclosed on we have recently heard. Now keep in mind that my cousin sends his son to a private Catholic school and they take trips rather frequently (Disneyland, etc--not cheap vacations). Also, my coz inherited his father's share of $$ from my gran's sister who died a few years ago. It was a pretty decent amount of $$. Why they can't send the kid to public school and use that money for their mortgage is beyond me--oh b/c his crazy mom insists he go to private school--that's why. Also, coz only works part time b/c he's lazy and doesn't want to work full-time. So, the bastard had the nerve to hit up my gran for the money to save their house. His mom is in on it. Keep in mind my aunt has never wanted anything to do with our family. My grandpa could never stand her, and my other uncle hates her guts..lol. My gran lives on social security. She has no stash of savings. I think my coz and aunt think she's sitting on a secret pot of gold or something, the way they act. Seriously, my gran couldn't help them if she wanted to--she just doesn't have the money. I am also worried that if they do lose their house, that they'll want to move in with her. My dad said if that happens, he'll go over there and throw them out himself. I'll help. Gran said that when coz was over yesterday, she caught him snooping through a box of stuff in one of her bedrooms. He also breaks into her house when she's not there, and she often notices things missing. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he came there one day while she was gone and stole one of her antiques to sell for $$. And even scarier, I wouldn't put it past him or his nutty mother to knock her off in hopes of getting money from her estate. If she ever dies mysteriously, the first thing I'd do is tell the police to check out my coz and his aunt. I'm actually pretty worried about this. I'm going to tell her to start locking her deadbolt all the time, and Dad is going to lock the window that coz uses to get inside when she isn't home. I'm thinking about telling my uncle about this, b/c I know he'll go apeshit and make sure my cousin knows to stay the hell away from her. Sorry to drone on and on about this. It just pisses me off to no end. I guess my dad isn't the only one in a raging fury. :cuss: :biggrinjester:

Kimmy, all I have to say is wow. Your cousin and aunt need to seriously rethink their priorities. And your poor Grandmother!! My goodness, they need to have the sense to just LEAVE HER ALONE!

I can't blame your dad for kicking them out if they try to ramble their way into his mom's house. Jerks.

I tell you, sometimes, people just DO NOT seem to be related to the right people. I'd never guessed you fitting in with them. Ever. I guarantee you, you're not going to weasle your way into money by suing the place where you fell or sacrificing your home so you can see Mickey Mouse and take a whack at the Teacup Ride.

Geez. I'm really sorry you and your father are going through this. It's really hard when life throws you stresses you're not ready for, especially when you have enough frustration attempting to control the conssumate compulsion for the taste of greasy, fattening and overall guilty delicious food. Trust me, I have this issue too.

We have to train ourselves into believing and KNOWING that food isn't going to make it better, so we shouldn't stuff ourselves with that bag of chips because we're stressed out and depressed. We have to allieviate our stresses with other things. My way out, for instance, is hanging with my boys and running. If I didn't escape my emotional blockade by doing these things, my crutch would be food, and I wouldn't be successful AT ALL in my search for the physical glorification of myself.

I'm sure you can relate to what I'm saying. In a sense, I think everyone on here can. Our bad habit of eating is rooted in a psychological problem, whether we believe it or not. All we have to do, is figure out the why, attempt to make it better, and go from there.

Kimmy honey, I hope you have a good Monday, and that you, your father and your hubby find yourselves as calm as you can be in the future of this situation.

I do hope all works out well for you family!
