Big Mac's Lifestyle Change

Hey you, droppin' in to say hi and see what's up in Mac's world! ;) A mini-triathalon is definitely an awesome goal! You go boy! :D
Any big plans for the birthday weekend? :cheers2:

I hate running to- and I agree, when I'm smaller it'll probly be easier, but the interval thing does work pretty well. Paula gave me a couple really good interval programs. Definately gets my heart rate up! This is early- but have a great birthday tomorrow :)

Ugh, I hear ya. Running sucks hard, we'll see what happens when I'm down another 30lbs though. Interval training is good, I might just not even work on running until I drop some weight though. I'll just cycle and swim till I drop about 30lbs and then I'll hit the road. I usually have my heart rate in the 160s or 170s on the elliptical. Thanks for the birthday wishes! :sifone:

Breakfast: Fiber One Raisin Cluster w/ 1% milk
AM Snack: Whole wheat pretzels, 2 slices lean turkey
Lunch: Grilled chicken, rice, side salad

I've always hated running. Its boring, I'm not good at it, I just don't think it's fun at all. As you know though, I'm very determined and I'd like to make it the whole way through this thing. So I'll just have to suck it up and get running.

I feel the same way about running. Unless I have my Ipod and tunes in full effect, I get terribly bored.

Plus my knees are wack, so I have to be careful.

I'm hoping when I drop another 30 pounds, running will be easier. I'm thinking when I'm lighter on my feet and I'm not pounding the pavement so hard, I might actually enjoy it.

That's great that you are going for it! Great motivator to get trained and ready. Whoo hoo!! Watch out for mac!

I hear ya. It's 10 months until the triathalon, so I have plenty of time to get ready. Should be to my goal weight by then.

Yea I'm at 0.8 for the week. But I did have a nasty no-exercise, bad eating week from last wednesday to this tuesday so I gotta say I'm very pleased to be at 134 today :D

P.S. A loss is still a loss. 2 lbs is great!! :D

I know what you mean! I was up two pounds on tuesday from my vacation to Canada :eh: . So I "kinda" lost 4 lbs but not really. The nice thing is I'm also down 1% bf from last week which is great. That means the weight loss was all fat and no lean mass. A 1% BF drop at 288 would be 2.8 lbs, but I'm only down 2 lbs. I'm not too smart but I would think that means I lost almost 3lbs of fat and maintained or even added to my lean mass a bit.

Woww that's great. It sounds like a much better loss when you put it into that perspective. Yea on Tuesday morning I was 137... but my lowest has been 133.4 so I technically didn't lose anything, but I'm almost back to my old self which is really nice. How was Canada anyways? I was really debating coming there but a) gas is expensive, b) I was drunk from Saturday night till Monday morning and c) I'm really shy with meeting new people when I don't have a computer as my shield, or alcohol in my blood.

Yeah it does seem better from that perspective. I'm just kicking myself for not being more strict on my diet over the weekend. I'm usually pretty good about not cheating, so it sucks for me to fall into that trap. I hate slowing down when my weight loss is going so well.

Canada was alright, kind of reminded me of how lame a lot of my family was though, haha. I was so bored hanging out with family on fri and sat night. At least they had a hot tub I could chill in. Ended up not staying in Grand Bend. Stayed in Toronto on Fri night and West Lorne on Sat night. I'm shy around new people as well. It is a lot easier to talk to people on a computer. I can't imagine being in a weight watchers meeting or something. That would be horrible talking to other people about my weight face to face.
