Big Mac's Lifestyle Change

Ok, so my mother who is really into cycling told me about some mini triathalon thats early next year. She asked me if I'd like to do it, and I think it would be something fun/interesting. So I plan to start training for that. Running will be the biggest obsticle for me. I'm a great swimmer and good on a bike. Nothing near my mom biking 20-40miles a day, but I can handle my own. I'm kind of excited though, and its something to work towards.

I can barely doggy paddle! :)

You will definitely be ready, and I can see on your ticker that you have lost more weight!!! Yay!!!

Didn't you just run a 5K? or was it 10K? Haha, swimming is fun, I grew up on lakes. Yeah, I lost 3 lbs last week. Hopefully that keeps happening, jumped on the scale this morning though and it's not looking good.

WOW a triatholn!!! That's great Mac! My only advice with running is to start SLOOOOW... let your body get used to it!! How exciting!!! You will totally rock out!!

I plan on that, I ran a little over the weekend and a little yesterday. I can't even run a mile right now, I guess I could if I had to. I usually give up about half way through though. Think I'm still to heavy to run right now, feels like I can't breathe after about 1/4 mile.

lame....hows life?

Life is good! Got a birthday comming up on the weekend. Wish my weight was a lot lower, but I guess it's my own fault for waiting so long. Got a really good workout in yesterday as well as monday though. Can't wait to hit 250!

Hows things with you?

I've always hated running. Its boring, I'm not good at it, I just don't think it's fun at all. As you know though, I'm very determined and I'd like to make it the whole way through this thing. So I'll just have to suck it up and get running.

Breakfast: Grapefruit, Whole wheat english muffin w/ PB
AM Snack: Nonfat Yogurt w/ granola and pistachio crisps
Lunch: Grilled chicken topped with salsa and jalapenos, over wild rice and black beans

Intervals are great for getting mileage in... Trops suggested I did 1/4 mile for 2 miles... therefore you are running a full mile and walking a full mile... it really worked for me. Try it out see how you feel after the first mile.

Yeah, I've done that before. I actually did that over the weekend. I think the biggest key for me though is dropping a few more pounds. Once I have less weight to run with, running will be a lot more enjoyable.
