Big Mac's Lifestyle Change

I was thinking that a full oz on cheese is a bit much and I'll try going with 1/2. Should make a fun evening around the pool tonight.

Along with time out, can we throw in nap time? Cause I'm down with that.

i LOOOOVVVEDD nap time......but why would I always fall asleep when it was TIME TO WAKE up.......BOOOOOO!!! :(....more nappy nappy

I hated nap time :( I was always wide awake and got in trouble for talking, can you BELIEVE? Me...in trouble for talking to much, lol. Mean teacher even put tape on my mouth once...how can anyone nap like that? Speaking of naps though, I'd take one now if I didn't think it was going to turn into a straight-through-until-morning sleep-athon. Ah the joys of working night shifts...

True Jello, I totally hated naps as a kid. Too bad we didn't realize what we were missing. :)

Tonight at the gym:

30min Basketball, 20min Elliptical HIIT
Chest and Triceps

50min of cardio... I was drenched.

CheeeooooW.!!! Way to KNOCK IT IN!!! :)

Yeah, can't have beer & chicken wings girl beatin me. ;) Kidding Alta, you've been busting your ass this week! You deserve a pat on the back.... it'll just have to be from a Playmate. :D

Hey, Shaun. I made the burgers tonight, but I didn't get to the butcher in time, so I used beef. I think with the lamb, though, mix in some rosemary with the meat. Oh, so good right off the grill. I sauted some mushrooms and topped it with chipolte sauce and cucumber. Came out really good. I grilled some zucchini, too. Tried it a bit different. Roses sweetened lime juice and salt. Came out really good.

Awesome Trops, I was thinking the same thing with the lamb and rosemary. I'm glad it turned out well. I've gotten really into grilling veggies this summer too. So good when they get those char marks on them. Been doing a lot of onion, bell peppers, zucchini... I need to find some more of those Mrs. Dash seasonings. No/low salt in them, really healthy to throw on some grilled veggies or meat.

Mmmmm we haven't grilled veggies in awhile! When I was pregnant I would cut up some carrots, potato's and corn. Put them in tinfoil with some seasoning and close the tinfoil, throw em on the grill and they tasted yummy.

Since im trying to lose weight now im staying away from potatos [to much starch and carbs]. But maybe this weekend we will grill other veggies instead! Thanks for the idea!

That's how I do peppers some times. So good. Onions and zuchs I put on the top rack and let them grill away. I do baste my veggies all the time to give it that extra liquid so it doesn't char. They say it's bad for you, but usually I'm attracted to "bad for you" I'm trying to break myself from that habit, at least food wise.

They probably tell kids roasting a marshmallow over a fire is bad for them too :D. I usually do about half and half with my grilled veggies. Leave them in foil for a while with my marinade on them, then after they've simmered for a bit put them straight on the grill. That keeps them moist but still cooked. I love getting those grill marks on them. IMO, they aren't done till they got them. :)

Kasey I'm totally with ya on the corn and potatoes. Been staying away from the starches. If you want a list of good veggies just take a look at the Glycemic Index and check out the lower veggies.

Sweet, i'll have to check that out. Ive been eating more green veggies lately. [brocolli, green beans.... thats all I can think of right now lol]

Roasting marshmallows is a gateway to smores and ever harder stuff, like mainlining hot fudge. Kids, just say "NO" to marshmallows!

(This has been a public service message)

Hahaha, thats great Trops. I think our society has become so afraid of the outdoors. We'd rather children sit on the couch with a TV, Wii, and bag of Doritos. What ever happened to running around outside and being reckless? :D

Oh yeah, I used to build some sick forts. I spent all day outside when I was growing up. Then again, we didn't have TV til I was 13.

I actually have a neighbor who was bragging about how much exercise her kids (who are all obese) are getting since she bought them a Wii for Christmas.
:icon_bs:

And that's part of the reason we don't have television. My kids are crazy about playing out in the woods and building forts and such. They are young enough where all the things they make are temporary, but I have to make a good tree fort for them one of these days.

The other part of no TV is they read like fiends. Each one is two grade levels above in reading. My big girl reads faster then me or my wife and retains it all. Crazy. Keeping them in books is a challenge, but we are regulars at the library.

Thats exactly how my sister and I were growing up Trops. We would play outside a lot, and we would read about 300pages a day. My spelling doesn't reflect it but my vocabulary does, haha. Thats great that you don't have TV Trops. I speak from inexperince since I have no children, but I see far too many parents that use the TV as a babysitter for thier child instead of being an actual parent.

so how about tipping off the competition and sending some recipes my way? I'm going to attempt to be domestic this weekend....
