Beyond 200

Race to 196??? You're too close, and will probably beat me. But I'll take you on. After that race, Let's say to 190, that will give me some time to catch up if I lose. I think you may have dusted me. I am afraid to get on the scale after last weekend. But I've been on track the last few days. Will weight in on Monday to see where I am at. lol My ticker won't work, so I have to start a new one and post it. boohoo. I liked how the old one kept track of my progress with the curve chart.

Great job girlfriend! I'm so proud of you. Doin it!!

Hey Miss JB! I wasn't too much of a threat this week - I maintained at 198. But at least I know for sure the 198 is real! Good luck!

I know what you mean, sometimes I don't believe the scale either. Funny things happen with those numbers. Way to be sitting firmly at 198. The race is on!!!

Slimmom,

It's great to hear your doing so well...

Great job on the 198.

I can't wait to get under 200 again...

It'll be a while for me though.

Still working off all that baby fat...

Keep up the good work.

I wish I were as maticulous at counting calories.

It's a lot of work.

Hi MJB and gettinskinny! I had a good weekend - lots of time outdoors. I didn't log my calories at all but I think my eating was right on track. I don't mean to jinx myself, but eating much smaller portions and working in lots more fruit and veggies seems to be becoming second nature. I will definately keep logging in my food on fitday every so often to make sure I'm keeping on target.

This morning I had a small bowl of cheerios with 3 small cut-up peaches and a bunch of blueberries. So far at work I've had a latte w/ soy milk, and for a snack a pear with one piece of laughing cow light cheese. I've brought a bag of baby carrots and a 4 oz portion of cottage cheese with me for further snacks and I think I'll have a McDonald's santa fe salad w/o the dressing (the chicken has a glaze that's saucy enough). Dinner will be chicken drumsticks w/ a salad.

The scale this morning said 196.4. Too soon to log it in, but I loved it! I took a class at the gym this weekend - Group Power - which was awesome. It's a weight training class and I'm going to switch to this class instead of working out with a trainer (which I do for 1/2 hour Fri mornings). I do not have enough money to keep paying for the private stuff. Thank goodness I liked the free class offered by the gym so much. Pilates lessons will have to go after a little while, but right now they're helping so much. It's all a balancing act . . . kids/work/money/friends/family/food/workouts . . . me, my son & my husband come first, and right now the pilates splurge is a big party of keeping me happy and healthy & my husband is down with it, so pilates stays for now . . .

I couldn't get up yesterday (monday morning) for the 5:40 a.m. gym class I planned to go to, so I got in my gym clothes as soon as I got home from work, did the nightly routine with the baby, and low and behold, my late-working husband got home in time for me to get to the gym for the 8:15 p.m. class. It was fun to go the gym at night. I haven't done that for probably two years, since our baby/work obligations don't usually allow for it.

Anyway, the class was great - it's called "group power" and you use a barbell with weights that you can adjust throughout the hour depending on what exercise the group is doing (lots of squats, lunges, & arm & shoulder work). This was my second class and I'm going to shoot for 2-3 classes a week.

I walked about 2 miles over lunch and stopped at whole foods along the way for a little bit of fresh fruit. I'm incorporating a lot more fruit into my diet & I'm learning to be frustrated about not catching it at just the right ripeness. This morning I threw away some pears that were too ripe, but then I bought one today and bit into and it wasn't nearly ripe enough - oh well. I'll keep trying, because when I catch it at the right time, peaches/pears/berries are so so good.

My mother-in-law comes in tonight for a visit and I'm already sad that she's leaving on Sunday and she isn't even here yet. I wish she lived here.

Food yesterday and today has been very good. Last night after working out I had 2 drumsticks and a bunch of broccoli, probably 1.5 to2 c. I allowed myself about 6 oz of red wine and had a yummy pomegranate/dark chocolate ice cream bar that I found at costco. The scale this morning said 196.4 the first two times I stepped on it, then 197.6 the next two times. I'm pretty sure I didn't gain a pound inside of 20 seconds. My real weigh-in isn't till Friday anyway, and it's my time of month, so I may not worry to much about what the scale has to say Friday. We'll see . . . Have a great day everyone!

Late night gym

Kudos for going to the gym at night. That's showing some real determination. Good job on the fruit too.

I'm really enjoying adding all the fresh fruit into my diet too.

After low carb dieting, I practically didn't eat any fruit for an entire year. Ouch... Now I'm buying fresh fruit by the truck load. My kids and hubby love it too.

I finally lost my first 2 lbs. I guess even thru my naughtiness I'm doing some good, so that's encouraging.

Keep up the great new habits. They are definitly paying off.

Great job gettinskinny! Keep doing what you're doing! Lose 2 lbs thirteen more times and you're at your goal! :)

The scale this morning said 196.2! Yea! Ounces away from no longer being obese! Yea! Plus, almost 10 pounds lost so far! Yea! Once I do this 3 and half more times, I'm at my goal! It would be lovely if I could just switch today's numbers around, from 196.2 to 162.9 :rotflmao: I can visualize my scale reflecting that #, 162.9 162.9 162.9

My eating has been good. I haven't had a chance to exercise with my mother in law in town, but I'm going to take a classes at the gym tomorrow morning and Saturday morning. Tomorrow is my official weigh-in day for the June challenge, but I'm logging the 196.2 now! :)

Holy Toledo!! You are doing it girlfriend!! I'm so proud of you!! You are inspiring me to get in more workouts. It's working for you and I'm slacking. Ok, I have to catch up now, you are dusting me and I can barely see you with all the sand in my eyes. lol Keep up the great work!! Slimmom is coming for you!!! hehe

It was an emotional weekend for me. We did a lot of nice things with my visiting mother-in-law, but I was very disappointed that my little guy didn't go easily to his Tita (grandma). He did, some, but overall he was much more clingy than he usually is. I gather this is normal for a 14-month old, but it's not what I'd been anticipating. I imagined this past week would be a big break for me. With a wonderful mother-in-law in town, I thought I'd get to relax a little and be more of a bystander, watching Frank & Tita have a wonderful time together. It was the opposite - Frank was just about the clingiest he's ever been, and I had to work to facilitate his being comfortable with his Tita, since I know she loves him so much and wants so much for them to be close. Ugh. Though the visit was nice for everyone else (I think) it was emotional for me because - if Tita lived closer, Frank would know her more and our time together would be easier & more relaxed - and I would have some help! But, that's not the way it is . . . . And here I am, wanting more kids. :)

I had too much white wine last week, 2-3 glasses a night. I won't make that a habit. I think I can't have it in the house, because for some reason with white wine, but not red, I never want to stop at just one glass. I didn't exercise after work last week because of the visit, but I did go to classes at the gym Friday and Saturday mornings, I popped in an exercise video on Sunday & worked up a sweat, and I went to a 6 a.m. pilates class this morning. And, my pilates instructor mentioned this morning that I'm looking slimmer, so that's good!

I'm going to log in today's food into because I haven't done that in awhile. Here's what I've eaten so far & my plan for the day:

breakfast: 3/4 c. cheerios, 3/4 c. shredded wheat, 1 cut up peach, skim milk & @ 3 T 2% milk. coffee.
a.m. snack: large cafe au lait w/ soy milk, 4 oz 2% cottage cheese (90 calories)
lunch: mcdonald's grilled sw chicken salad w/o dressing
pm snack: pear w/ 3/4 oz light laughing cow cheese
dinner: burger, salad, & grilled sweet potato, 1 dark chocolate & pomegranate ice cream bar.

no wine!

1. going to a 6am class is incredibly imprssive.. :)
2. nice compliment you got!!

way to go :)

Hey , I know life gets hectic, and It can be difficult to always get in those exercises that you want, but family is so important. Don't beat yourself up for the time missed at the gym. You still did great and the wine was probably to help you relax with the mother in law in town. I can relate to wanting the family to be closer. Mine are all a couple of states away. My 15 month old hasn't seen his since he was 9 months. Who knows how he'll react when he sees them next month. I don't suggest not having another. Having 2 is great, they are best buds... I also know it's scary loosing the weight and then getting pregnant again. That's been my struggle. I wouldn't trade the 25 lbs. for my son though. He's well worth it, and I will loose it again.

Good luck this week.

We'll see you looking slimmer by the end of the month for sure.

Your doing a great job.

Keep it up.......

The wine most definately helped :) :) Thanks for your words of encouragement - in the big picture, the pregnancy pounds are nothing compared to a couple of happy kids to love. I love the vision of Frank and his future siblings being best buds :) Thanks again gettinskinny and good luck to you this week!

Fitday stats

So I logged all the food I have eaten/plan to eat today in fitday, except the after-dinner dark chocolate & pomegranate ice cream bar because I haven't plugged the nutritional info for that into a custom food item yet.

The grand total will be 1492 calories if I stick to it exactly, plus @ 250 calories if I eat the ice cream bar - so 1750 - which would be on target for me.

Projected fitday stats w/o ice cream:
