Benjamins Journey

Workout:
3 sets of 10 on the inclined row machine

3 sets of 10 on the lat pull down machine

1 set of 4 with 2 plates of 45 lbs on each side using the trap deadlift bar instead of the normal deadlift bar. Then I added one more plate of 45 on each side for 1 set of 2.

After that I did 10 laps around the track on the outside ring which is 225m for one lap.

I decided to save shoulders for tomorrow as I will do it with traps.

Hi, Benjamin & welcome to the forum. Are you looking to lose weight & if so, how much? What sort of food do you eat & what changes do you plan on making? You have found a very supportive forum & new members are very welcome. If you share a little bit more about yourself you are likely to get some more input. Cheers, Cate.

Hi Cate

I have cut certain foods/drinks out of my life. I don't drink pop, I can't have milk products, and I do my best to limit the amount of chips/bread I eat. For the amount of weight I would like to lose is honesty as much as I can as I'm 320-325lbs. When I get back from the gym I'm drenched in sweat. I go the the gym before dinner like I have been for the past couple of months.

Here is what I put in the newcomers page

Hi my name is Benjamin Roy. I am 19 years old and have struggled with my weight my whole life. I go to the gym everyday doing a mix of strength training and other exercises to elevate my heart rate. I do push my self to go the gym as I'm 6'2 and 325 lbs. I'm fairly strong. My one downfall is what is at home for food/I can't have milk products as mystomach can't handle that kind of stuff, I have been doing my best to reduce the amount of bread that I eat as well. I drink water through out the day id say only water. I haven'ttouched a drop of pop since January which has been a big accomplishment for me as before I would drink to much of it.

Hello Bejamin and welcome to the forum! Mad respect for what you've accomplished so far - and for tackling this problem right now instead of waiting till your health forces you to. I look forward to reading along with your progress.

Thank you LaMaria

I've been trying to lose weight since grade ten in high school I'm currently in college. I've had my highs and my lows but I still try to be active by going to the gym everyday. Today I'm going to be doing shoulders and traps but now I'm going to include the stair climber with the ten laps I will do.

Going to the gym in a hour to do some back and shoulder exercises then going to walk the track.
Just got back from the gym I guess this would be day 2 of my journey. I did shoulders, traps, the stair climber and the ten laps around the outside of the track.

For shoulders I did the shoulder press which is only a smith machine with a bench. I also did the shoulder fly machine.

Shoulder press
1 set of 10 with 1 35 pound plate on each side
2 sets of 10 with 1 45 plate on each side

Shoulder fly machine
3 sets of 115 pounds

For Traps I did the machine where you put the weight on it. Instead of standing straight and shrugging I leaned forward because you feel it a lot more than just standing straight.

Traps
1 set of 10 with 1 45 pound plates on each side.
1 set of 10 with 2 45 pound plates on each side.
1 set of 10 with 3 45 pound plates on each side.

Then I did the stair climber for 8 mins at level 4 after that I finished with my 10 laps on the outer track.

Thanks for sharing that Benjamin. I rarely go into other sections of the forum. Kudos to you deciding to make changes to improve your health outcomes. Food is the most important factor. Cutting out pop is great. Well done! Cutting down on processed food will make a big difference. Fresh vegetables, fruit, whole grains, & lean protein are what our bodies need for optimal health. Depending on who you live with of course, limiting the amount of unhealthy processed food in your house helps resist temptation, until you are able to build that resistance. I'm glad you are making these positive changes. Your future self will thank you. Cheers, Cate

That's a tough thing to do, but on the other hand it's a skill you'll need for the rest of your life so it's good to get some (more) practice in.
How are your shoulders feeling?

Shoulders are doing good a bit sore. But overall it feels good doing those exercises. Today I'm going to be doing legs.
