So I felt like bragging about my personal best bench press today which was 95lbs..3 sets..12 reps until I checked out youtube and saw women lifting 130 and upwards pounds. Damn it.......harder work ahead.

Not to be an idiot here but is maxing seeing how much you can lift for 1 rep only? If it is I'm not sure how I would even guess. The first couple lifts on each set of the 95 were fine so I imagine I could go a bit heavier.... but not for more than maybe 1. Ohhhh I feel a challenge coming on!

P.S. I actually do wear clothes : ) And don't get too crazy - I noticed many of the lifters had big fake ones that stood up as they layed down - sadly not the case here - but I understand it.
 
at the gym, ask soemone to help you, and spot you. Warm up a bit light (maybe 50-55) do 2 sets of 3-4. Then go for 105. If you get it, add 2 1/2's on either side. try again. You get the idea. You will get tired...

But you will be getting a handle on your max. Do this again in a week and you will know.

Well done May66. I prolly reckon you could do 120 lbs for one rep like who is repping 60 lbs dumbbells. Add in a couple of squats and deads if you are not already doing them, they will improve your overall strength.
