Bellaryna's Journey

Take it easy hon and work back into it, but that's great news!

Don't get to see ya so often these days to take one of these with you :hug2:

Wouldn't you know it. I get cleared to exercise again and I can't seem to find any time at all to actually work out. Everyday has been booked up solid with all kinds of things. Dinners out, dryer guys coming in, hubby wanting to take a road trip and shuttling mom here and there for doc appts. ACH!
As soon as I get off this thing I am heading out to the Y for some me time. I really need it and I am craving it soooo badly.
Shoulders continue to feel good. I am absolutely on cloud nine by the fact that I can actually get my right arm behind my back. Haven't been able to do that in years. Can't reach all the way up yet but can actually touch my bra. MAJOR IMROVEMENT!!!
It can only get better from here on out.
Had to go to 2 different dinners this week.
One was with my Secret Sister from church. I totally stunk it up this year with the gift giving. So I just went ahead and told her I was her sister and offered to take her to dinner and a movie. Tried to steer the dinner to Applebee's as they have there Weight Watcher menu. But she wanted Mexican. And since this was about her I let her choose. Saw 4 Christmas' by the way. Really Funny! That was on Monday nite.
Last nite we ended up going to a fancy shmancy dinner for a board of directers that hubby is on. Absolutely nothing there was low cal. So decided to just go with it and consider that my last supper. hahaha
So for today I have had
coffee w/ Splenda and 4 creamers from the Golden Arches,
fruit & yogurt parfait also from the Arches,
1 scrambled egg w/1 slice of 9 grain wheat bread with a smidge of butter,
1 small Wendy's chili and a side salad w/ 1/2 a packet of honey mustard dressing and a packet of croutons.
Tonight I am again eating dinner away from home. Heading over to MIL's place and of course nothing there will be low cal........again! But I have every intention of eating a small, very small, portion of dinner.
Now that I can get back to exercising I need to get the food back under control.
Whelp that's all there is.
Catch ya'll later!

Thanks for the hug! I needed it. :blush5:
Here's one right back at'cha! :hug2:
And don't worry, I don't plan to do ANYTHING that will put me back where I was before.
Thanks for the love.

Ahhhhh! :coolgleamA:
Got to the Y this afternoon just like I said I would. Felt great!!!
I stayed away from the weights doing cardio instead.
Hit the Arc Trainer for 20 minutes on the cardio setting. Thing kept cycling between a resistance of 20 to a resistance of 35. I was like "Whoaaaa Nelly" that first time it hit the 35! Made it thru though. Did forget to take off my hoodie before starting out so was a sweatie nasty mess by the time the 20 minutes was up. LOL :ack2:
Jumped off the Arc Trainer and hopped on the Stationary Row. Went for about 15-17 minutes. Completing 2000 meters at a resistance level of 5. After that I headed over to the other side of the Center and worked on my obliques. Did 64 side obliques (32 each side) and then did some reverse sit-ups 22 exactly. By that time I had to run 'cuz my kids were gonna be gettin' out of school. I could of stayed for a whole lot longer.
The Daily Plate says that I burned 544 cals off. I tend to believe it because it was dead on with what the Arc Trainer said.
Ended up having dinner here at my house instead of at MIL's. Same food though.
Fried Plantains, white rice with beans, King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls and Venison Back Strap.
All in all I did well.
1/2 cup of the rice
1/4 cup of the beans
1 roll
3oz of venison
and 3 small slices of fried Plantain.
Not bad if I don't say so myself.
And now that I know how many cals is in that rice!!!!! YIKES!! :ack2: 160 cals per 1/4 of a cup!!! I don't think I will ever again mindlessly eat it.
Which is a shame since it is pretty much a staple of the Puerto Rican diet.
All in all it was a successful day.
With the exercise I was able to keep my cal counts just below the limits that I have set for myself.
Which is 1489 a day. The Daily Plate calculates at that level I should lose 2 pounds a week.
And like I said I came in lower than that today......1228. But that was only due to the exercise. Otherwise I was up and over.
Well gotta go.
My hubby is hollering about watching a show with him on TV so I will catch you all later, gators!!!
:gnorsi:

Today's been a pretty good day.
Didn't get my exercise in like I wanted since we had a new dryer coming. And you all know how that goes. Sit and wait forever 'til they get here. By the time they got here it was time to pick up the kids and we had small group at my house tonight. Thought about kicking it up on the elliptical after everyone left but then mom called needing me to pick up some meds for her as she wasn't feeling well. By the time I made it back home it was 9:30 and I just felt beat.
I am feeling pleasantly sore from my working out on the Row yesterday and from all the crunches.
I am playing with the idea of getting up early and heading into the Y to get my exercise in tomorrow. Only snag in that plan is I am volunteering at the school tomorrow and I have to work tomorrow nite. So I need all the sleep I can get.
But right now I really need to keep in the groove.
Food for the day:
coffee w 4 creamers/splenda
yogurt parfait
banana
1 oz almonds
2 lite cheese sticks
organic yogurt with vanilla whey powder and splenda
granny smith apple
3/4 of a Kashi Pizza (yummy)
single serving of jello
5 olives (craving salt)
oh and dh brought me a candy bar from Cabella's.
See I really need to get to the Y tomorrow! LOL
All for a total of 2010 cals!!! :ack2:
YIKES!
Stupid Candy Bar.
I knew better than that too. If it wasn't for that candy bar I would have been below my cal level for the day by 4 cals.
Dumb :banghead: Dumb :banghead: Dumb :banghead:
Now I absolutely need to get to the Y in the morning.
Catch ya all later.
Ciao

Candy yum... I have a huge sweet tooth...

Hey amiga, glad to see you poppin' in more again! BTW, have I said how much I like the new Avi?

Don't short yourself on the sleep (yah, hello hypocrite), for the work out, but yeah I can relate... been there.

Don't work too hard...

Yeah it's about time I get serious again. Now that I can workout again I feel like my eating better will actually be a useful tool and not just a deprevation one.

I am glad that you love the new avi.
I just got myself done over at the local salon. Was nervous as all get out since the girl doing my hair only graduated last yr. From high school that is!!!! LOL
Turned out really nice. I have been getting non-stop compliments from everyone. Makes a girl feel good. :biggrinjester:
Don't worry 'bout me working to hard. My motto is stay in the middle. This way when you do shoot for the moon it's really noticable. And when you don't really feel like getting anything done well it won't look so bad either. haha
Keeps me outta trouble that way.
Have a great weekend.

Okay so this weekend was a bit hit and miss.
Did so-so on the eating. They had the annual Christmas dinner at work. Turkey, ham, mashed taters, gravy, green beans, corn, roll and salad. Oh and pumpkin pie.
Had a small bit of everything. Well no turkey. It was swimming in some kind of sauce. Ewwww.
That was on Saturday.
I also biked 10 miles on Saturday getting it done in 40 minutes with and average of 16-17 mph. Came home and rode the elliptical for 45 minutes. Daily plate says I burned off 1010cals.
But then I basically put them all back on last night. :banghead:
I am beginning to think that I am never going to get back on track.
Pretty digusted with myself right now. :cuss:
I know better than all that.
Here's to a new start (again!).
'Cuz if I don't get this back under control and soon I will be right back to where I started.
I'm off to the Y.
Ciao

Dawn, did you say 10 miles at 16-17 mph? Like as in cycling on road or stationary? Stationary those numbers are solid, on road those numbers are exceptional.

I Knew I luv'd ya :beating:

:waving:

Hey stranger! You and I must be riding the same train, cuz I'm just getting back on track (again) myself. I wanna know who laid the rails that makes the dang train get off the tracks?! You and me should find a different mode of transportation, eh?

That would be a stationary. Since Saturday I have ridden the bike 2 more times with 14 miles yesterday averaging 18mph and this morning (4:30am!!!) 13 miles averaging 19mph.
So all told since Saturday I have ridden a total of 37 miles!!!
Woohoo!!
Plan to hit the bike again tonight for an additional 13 miles to round it out to 50.
Would love to continue with the upward trend on the mph.
We'll see what happens.

Took MIL Christmas shopping today. Weather was crappy. Rain, rain and more rain. Blech :ack2:. I am not complaining to loudly mind you. Like the weather man said better wet stuff than white stuff. But still MIL doesn't like the cold as it is. Add in rain on top of it and you can see how great a day we had.
Did have lunch at Ruby Tuesday's. I LOVE their salad bar. Best one by far that I have ever had anywhere, hands down.
Got the soup and salad combo.
MIL got a burger with some fries which she promptly shoved 1/2 towards me. Ate a little less than 1/2.
Thinking of having Kashi Pizza for supper tonight. Mmmmmm. Tasty.
Well I got a meeting to run off to so will catch ya'll later.
Ciao

Grab A Friend and Get To It

The best thing you can do is grab a friend to help motivate you. It always helps to have the extra support and sometimes it can turn into a competition!

Howdy Girly!!!
Glad to see ya back.
Yeah I am pretty tired of the tracks getting yanked up too. LOL
Maybe we should shoot for.......hmmmm.......let's see........a moped.
Then we can just zip along instead of barrel down on everything! hahaha

You've come a long way, and although we all have doubt enter our minds, you KNOW that you're on the right track--there's no falling off for good! :smash: Glad you're still putting exercise on top priority. Have fun at the Y!

So does all this bike riding make you a biker chick? :D Maybe Santa will bring you a leather biker outfit for Christmas. :)

Love ya, girl!

Poppin' in real quick.
Mom is back at the hospital.........again.
She has cellulitis. You can look it up if you would like. As I have no time to go into lengthy descriptions. Hope that doesn't sound rude.
Family doc is recommending that she go to assited care for a while until she can get back on her feet again.
We are right in the middle of finding out if she will qualify or not. If she does than there is no cost for mom as her medicaid/medicare will pick it up. She got hurt real bad when I was a kid and is considered lifetime on the gov't/state ins.
Soooo I haven't had anymore time to get to the Y, except to go there to work of course. Not workout.
Hopefully things will calm down once we can get things straightened out with mom.
Anywho, just wanted you to all know that I hadn't run away or anything. Just been busy.
Catch everyone later.

I'm so sorry about your mom! :( Ugh, and sorry you haven't been able to get your workouts in--if in your position, I'd be rather frustrated! Hope you have fun this weekend, aiight??? :seeya:

Thanks Val for always stopping in with some love. :Angel_anim:
Update on Mom~
We were able to get her into the care facility that I wanted. Yeah!!! She gets released from the hospital today after lunch. She seems to be okay with the fact that she is going. I told her twice before when I had to take her to the hospital (Sept 24th with Pnumonia, and 2 weeks ago after a fall that dislocated a toe and cut her foot open) that if she had one more thing happen I would be forced to look for a place for her to go so that she could get herself back on her feet. I really think/hope that she is going to like it there. In fact they also offer assisted living as well as assisted care. Difference being living you have a small apartment and care is in a hospital room type setting. Looked into the issue to see if it was very expensive to stay in the living side and really it is not when you figure in all the things that they get. Food, linens, laundry services, chapel w/church on Sundays, heck they even have beauty shoppe on site that gets you a haircut once every 2 months. And that's just the stuff that I can think of off the top of my head.
I was told that right now there is a waiting list about 17 people long. That list is for "outsiders", people who are not in-house on the care side of the building. If they had someone (mom hopefully) who wanted to stay there she would automatically go to the top of the list since she is in-house.
I am praying that she really likes it there. I plan to bring the subject up after she has been there about 2 weeks. I figure by that time she should have had ample time to experiance most of the things that they offer and if she was going to be wanting to go back to her apartment that would be about the time that she would want to go.
Soooo I am really prayin' that she wants this. 'Cuz my stress levels are thru the roof with her. Always wondering if she is eating, taking her meds or falling down.
Like I said previously I have had no time to workout. I would like to get into the Y for myself on Monday. Hopefully that will be a reality.
Still floating around that 205 mark. It could be lower as my fingers are feeling swollen this morning and I definately have not been drinking my water in the last few days.
Well that's all that is going on here, as if that is not enough. LOL
