Thanks Karl!~
Just let me know.
I still haven't looked up a meal plan...:blush5: naughty I know. LOL
Trying to get on here while the kids are on break from school is just about impossible. In fact I had to kick my dd off just to check out the forum! :biggrinjester:

I swear that the holidays are just gonna kill me this year with all the goodies that have come my way recently.
Everyday I start the day out with the best intentions and then along comes temptation.......:piggy:
Today it was a LARGE sized YUMMY :drool5: homemade Maple Cream. I really just want the holidays to be over so there will no longer be all these sweets around me. 'Cuz right now I seem to have absolutely no resolve to stay away from them.
Not like last year. Sigh :angelsad2:
At least with Karl's help (accountability wise) I hope to get my eating back on track. Getting my motivation where it needs to be.

I am glad to be spending Christmas at home this year. Last year was a whirl wind trip to NYC. It was nice but home really is where my heart lives.
*I attached a few pics from last Christmas* They were actually taken on Christmas Day.
What a difference in the weather from last year to this year.
The First one is a little bit blurry but that is the whole fam, minus my step-son who spent his holiday with his mom, in front of the "big tree" in Rockefeller Center.
The Second one is of my dd staring in awe at all the wonderful "pretty things". Her words not mine.
The Third one is both of my little angels :newangel: hahaha, sittin' on a giant rock in Central Park.
And the last one is me and my honey. We were in Central Park with the city behind us. By the way that pic was taken by my then 4yr old ds. Better than the one taken by the stranger in the Center!
Merry Christmas Everyone!

Ahhh I do :beating:"love":beating: you guys sooo!

:hug2:

Sorry Val, :angelsad2: I let you down on that one.

NO you didn't let me down!

how do I get back to that will and determination I had 8 months ago?

Right now is different from last year. I know I'm being Captain Obvious, but my point is that maybe you need a different, less intense approach. When Xmas is over hopefuly the cookies will disappear and you will take smaller steps to weight loss, and ACHIEVE! Actaully, that's exactly what is going to happen :)

That is a major problem with my hubby being in the ministry. Everyone gives us goodies for the holidays. People just don't stop to think that their good intention could actually be hurting us.
.

I actually despise that tradition, but I don't want to talk smack....still at times I'm just like, "Can ya bring a FRUIT BASKET instead, already?!?!?!"

I

ADORABLE!!!!!!!

Dawn, you WILL get a grip (so will I, I had cookies and candy today, too! :() and 2009, you'll be back in Onderland and I betcha you can get to your goal! It's a good time to explore more options! :hurray:

Well as I feared the holidays have taken their toll on my weight.
Weighed in this morning at 211 even. That's 11 pounds heavier than last Christmas. Which doesn't seem like alot really but knowing that I actually got to 186 in the Spring so in effect have gained back 25 pounds.......well.........that is what is getting at me more than anything.
I am fairly certain that some of the 211 can be attributed to salt as my wedding ring was so tight this morning I couldn't slip it off my finger.
Told dh this morning that today is the day.
Even though we have a small dinner to go to tonight, (I actually was able to get today off from work!)
I told him that my new attitude is this:
Today is not the last day of my gluttenous run but the first day of my recovery back to good health.
So with that said........
I logged in my food so far this morning over at the dailyplate.com
Website states that I can have 1538 cals daily and at 211 pounds and minimal exercise I should lose 2 pounds a week.
I plan to exercise every day after I get done with my shift at the Y. Just go and clock out and head back up to the fitness center working on the weights since I have an elliptical at home. That will start officially on January 5th. Since that is when my new hours at the Y will start. But until then I plan to get in some form of movement, not just sit on my butt. So there you have it.
Hopefully the next time I check in I will have better news on the weight loss front.
As for the rest of my life, LOL, Christmas was wonderful.
For the first time in the 12 years that we have been married my step-son was able to be with us on Christmas morning. Add to that MIL and my mother our whole family was here. Kids had a blast opening their presents. They didn't even notice that we had scaled them back from last year. Just proves that little is more.
We got the kids a Wii and everyone got a game to go with it. I got the Wii Fit. I haven't yet had a chance to use it as the kids have been playing their games and currently dh is playing his Star Wars game. haha
Hopefully this afternoon I will get my turn.
Weather here has been weird to say the least.
Just yesterday for an example:
Early, early morning: cold and dry
Early morning: Freezing Rain
Afternoon: temps in the high 30's so snow and ice melting everywhere.
Early evening: Thunderstorms
Late night: Heavy dense fog
Today: Flood Warnings from all the snow melting as we are currently at 56*
Weird huh?
Well I got to get going. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hey Beautiful Lady! Sorry we haven't been able to coordinate yet on an accountability thread yet. What you just posted is exactly what I was talking about though. State your plan and your objectives then stick by it and come in here to verify. I'm going to have to do the same thing in my diary and maybe someday we'll actually put something else together on it, but it has been nuts here because of the holidays.

Take care of yourself, darlin' :waving: Sounds like a really solid plan!

Thanks Karl!
Now the hard part is getting it going and sticking to it.
Luckily I have another accountiblity partner here at the Y.
Told him what you and I had planned and he said he would by my exercise accountibilty person.
So it seems like I can't possibly falter with the 2 of you keeping me in line. LOL
I'll be checking up on you later this weekend to see if you have posted your plan.

Couldn't get an internet connection the past few days so I just wanted to wish you a belated
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Best wishes for 2009!
:seeya:

Well I weighed in this morning at 209.6 so that puts me 1.4 pounds down so far. I am excited about it but I know that that number is most likely water weight so I am not jumping up and down. LOL
If there is a continued drop for tomorrow than I will get a smidge more excited.
I tried to put on my size 16 jeans yesterday..........it was a no-go. :banghead:
To think that I got myself to 184 where those jeans were not only wearable but comfortable too and then blew it just burns my biscuits.
It especially bothers me 'cuz I was soooo sure that this would never ever happen again. And here I sit saying it did.
I now only have 1 pair of jeans that I can wear somewhat comfortably. Size 18's! Blah
I know that there are people here on the forum who would love to get to an 18 and I want you to know that I am right there next to you cheering you on. Just for me I don't want to ever be in them again.
I got a Wii Fit for Christmas from my hubby. That thing is a blast!!! The first time I used it (Saturday) I was on it for like 53 minutes. I was determined to beat my score and kept trying again and again until I had to quit to make the kids some lunch.
I have to think that I burned off some cals working/playing with the Wii since I was sweaty when I was all done.
We played on it yesterday, the whole family MIL included.
It was so much fun 'cuz we were all there together playing on it. Funny too since it recognized when my 9yr old dd got on and said something to the effect that "it noticed a large shift in my weight"! Well Duh! She is 9 and I am 36 so yeah there was a large shift. LOL I just thought that was to cool that it could notice all that.
Well I need to go get cleaned up for the day.
So many things to do and so little time to get it all done in.
Later Gators! :)

Food Accountability Day 2

So Sunday's as a whole are usually difficult for me. Lack of sleep coupled with a lack of time usually means fast food of vending machine.
For Christmas I got dh a really awesome slow cooker. So decided to put it to use by making a stew for Sunday dinner.
Cut up onions, carrots, celery and potatoes. Threw in some beef stewing chunks along with a stew seasoning packet. Set the timer for 3 1/2 hours and left for church.
I can't tell you how wonderful it was to walk in the door and smell that delicious food simmering away.
Made some GV biscuits to go with the stew. I also made a huge salad for me sharing a bit with everyone at the table.
There was enough left over that I was able to take it to work for supper.
YUMMY!
Sunday~
3/4 cup of Frosted Cheerios
1/2 cup 1% milk
about 1 1/2 cups of stew all veggies except for 1 chunk of meat
1 bisquit broken up an thrown into the stew
huge salad with peppers (yellow, orange) tom's, 1tbsp sunflower seeds, 6 croutons and 1tbsp poppyseed dressing.
1 cup 1% milk
dinner at work was everything listed above as well as
1 lite cheese stick
1oz almonds
1 small apple
managed to drink 100oz of water thru-out the day.
Which basically meant that I was making bathroom runs all night since I was in the freezer. LOL
Should have seen me. Just about every 45 minutes to an hour. :smilielol5:

Great job on the eating/exercising and water so far! :hurray:

Glad that Wii fit is working for ya. :) Any exercise that is enjoyable is a blessing, eh? ;) I wish you lived even closer so we could walk together regularly. Although since I've said I'm becoming Amish in 5yrs to shield my children from all the evils of the world...hahaha....I might end up near you. :biggrinjester:

Nothing wrong with becoming Amish........they make/eat great food! Of course the making and the eating of said food could become a problem, but since they don't drive cars I am sure that with all the walking you would be doing it wouldn't be a problem at all! LOL
Wish we were closer as well.
We'll just have to schedule a visit again. Soon. :)

Quickly as it is late and I am tired.........YAWN!
Today was a good day.
Stayed with-in my cals, not sure of the exact totals, but do know that for sure was below the 1500 something that I can have.
Dh wanted to get Chinese for lunch today and thoughtfully called to see if I wanted any. What a sweetie, but I turned him down.....FLAT!!!
Did have 1 Crab Rangoon though.
My arch nemesis of the Chinese Food World. :boxing:
Played on the Wii Fit tonight after the kids went to bed. Doing every game that was available to me at least once. Some of them I did a few times just trying to beat my scores. Adds up to be just about 20 different games/workouts.
So it is a safe bet that I got all my strength training and cardio in as well as balance and yoga.
Was sweating when it was all said and done. Pretty sure I was smelly too. :piggy:
That thing really has me motivated to do well.
It is sooo much fun that it is hard to believe that I am actually working anything out.
Though I do know for sure that something is working since my butt was sore from working out on it on Saturday! LOL
Didn't realize that it was sore because of the Wii until I got on on Sunday to show MIL how to do some things. That was when I noticed it. Wowsers! :biggrinjester:
I would totally recommend to anyone thinking of getting a gaming system to get the Wii with the Fit Board.
Seriously, what are you and the fam going to benefit from any other system? Besides a big butt and a sore thumb! :smilielol5:
Catch ya'll later!
