Bellaryna's Journey

hah i know what you mean but life is just a vicious circle! the best situation is the one we are in IF we make the most of it.

So here is a picture that my step-son took yesterday before I headed off to church.
( Note: here I had only had about 7.5 hours of sleep in 48 hours at the time of the photo )
These are the size 16 jeans that my hubbies cousin gave me at Christmas.
The ones that were soooooo tight that I could barely move! LOL
They weren't skin tight. I could actually breathe in them but I also couldn't cross my legs still.
Though I did have to wear a belt with them as they kept gapping in the back.
And though I look good from the front I still have a tummy that would be clearly seen if the pic would have been taken from the side.

Well the Roto-Rooter guy just left my house..........With a huge chunk of my money in his pocket! LOL
Thank goodness our tax return comes in on Friday.
We have the most beautiful tree in our back yard. Unfortunately it likes to feed off our sewer line. So every 2 years we have to put some super acid stuff down the line and have the rooter guy come out and chop up all the little tree roots that have grown into it.
Most people would say just cut down the tree. But if you could only see this tree. It is huge! And it keeps the house cool in the summer. The canopy on it is spectacular. Perfectly formed. The branches are just about 6 inches above my head when I walk under them. The tree was a definate selling point for me when we decided to buy the house.
The only thing that really bothers me is that the previous owners never told us about the issues. It would have been nice to of had a heads up on it.
Most likely this summer/fall we will dig up the existing line and relocate it with a brand new PVC pipe that goes out and around the tree. Effectively eliminating the problem.
Hubby came home today with my Valentine's Day present! My Heart Rate Monitor!!!!
I have been wearing it all around the house just to see what kind of rate I have.
So far my resting rate falls somewhere in the high 40's and the low 50's. When I told dh that it said that was a sign of an extremely healthy heart. And here I thought it being that low meant I was nearly dead! LOL
I can't wait to try it out tomorrow at my Fit for Life class.
See how fast my ticker actually will go.
I did fairly well today with the sodium challenge for the BLS Challenge. Got all my water in. I did have some of the left over chili but not like a HUGE helping. I would say it was about a medium size helping.
I have a feeling that my run with the BLS Challenge will be coming to an end this week. Don't know why I feel that way, just do.
In all I am quite surprised that I made it as far as I did.
I would love to hit that 185 by Thursday. Valentine's Day was my goal. Don't know that I will though. But of course there is always next week. I am definately closer to my goal then I was during the hoildays. LOL
Well that is about all I got going on here.
Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.
Later Gators:biggrinjester:

Hi Bella,

That pic of you your SS took is gorgeous! You may want my legs, but i want your upper body..lol. Your face is looking so slim these days--beautiful! :grouphug:

Aren't home maintanence issues a pain in the rear? Just when you get a bit o money tucked away, something comes up to take it away. :cuss:

I think you'll still be around by the end of the week. Are you getting in all your exercise pts? Any exercise you do counts, ya know--even your swim classes if you are in the pool swimming. :)

You guys are sooooo nice to me with the kind words. :blush5:
I guess between the 2 of us we would make one fine lookin' HOTTIE!!! :biggrinjester:
Ya the home maintanence things really get to me. I swear if it is not one thing it is another. But in the long run we have a very nice house. I don't know all the stats or I would pass them on to you. What I do know is that is a early 70's ranch style 4 bedroom (use to be 3 we made a 4th out of the 2nd family room) 1 1/2 bath, 2 car garage SUPER NICE neighborhood house.
I think we got it for a super price. $121,000. Back when the rates were real low. And not with one of those rates that would bounce all over the place either. It is fixed. Did wonder though how much value does it add to our house by building that 4th bedroom, do you know? And just for the record you can't tell that the room was an add-in. Looks like it has always been there.
I have been getting the exercise in. Just not as much as I had at this time last week. I wasn't feeling so well this evening so did not go to my evening class. Of course my swim boss was honked off. But what was I suppose to do? I hadn't had any sleep in like 3 days and I was exhausted. I feel asleep on the couch twice today. Barely made it to the Y the 1st time and woke up so disorientated the 2nd time that I totally got confused on the day and time.
As long as I make my 3 remaining classes this week (180 minutes) and all the rest of my swim classes (another 180 minutes) I should do fine.
I guess I just am having a ho-hum kinda week. Feeling like I can't quite get into the groove of things.
Most likely has alot to do with my house falling apart around me due to the problems with the sewer line, the lack of sleep in the last 3 days and the friggin' cold weather.
I'll snap out of it and be back to my old self tomorrow. Besides I can't wait to see how many cals I really am burning when I am wearing my new HRM!!!

A fourth bedroom won't necessarily add value since you didn't add any square footage. But it will make it appealing to more buyers if you were to sell it. This is b/c people who need 4BRs will look at when they wouldn't if it only had 3. :)

Even though you feel out of sorts, you're doing really well. Get some sleep woman! What are you doing up?? You should be in bed.:sleeping:

Hi Bella!
You look great in that new pic!

I can relate to the tree thing, we have a beautiful tree as well in the front of the house but it has very strong roots and they break up the road pavement so every three or four years we have to pay for someone to cut the roots and someone to fix the street. A lot of money, I can tell you.

I'm sorry about your ho-hum week, I'm sure you'll feel better soon.

Have fun with the new hmr!

Woke up this morning not feeling so very well.
After getting to bed at 12:45 am I woke up at 4am with a very upset tummy. Upset tummy's scare the dickens out of me. I know that it sounds lame but you have to understand that after my youngest was born (5 years ago) I got deathly ill. With horrendous tummy problems.
It is something that I never ever want to repeat in my life.
Basically it came down to my having dysentry. You know the stuff that people get in 3rd world countries or after they drink contaminated water at the county fair. Or from someone not washing their hands when they prepare your food at the restaraunt. (The most likely place that I "caught" mine)
I had it for about 3 weeks. It would cycle thru my system about every 3-4 days. As when I didn't feel well I didn't eat in effect killing the germs that were making me soooo sick. But then I would feel better and eat something (feeding the few germs that remained) and within hours I would be getting sick again.
We had no health insurance 'cuz I was staying at home with the kids at the time. So I was just muddling thru the sickness. Thinking that it was some very bad strain of the flu or some such thing.
By the time that I went to the hospital I was told that if I had not came in on my own that night, they would have been coming to get me by ambulance because I would have had a heart attack due to being so dehydrated. They ended up pumping 12lbs of fluids into me that night. And when they weighed me at the ER I had lost 16 pounds in that 3 weeks.
So anytime I have a sore tummy I get scared. Needless to say I did not sleep well as I was too scared.
My tummy feels much better now *Thankfully* but I am still very very tired.
I am considering not going to my Fit for Life class tonight but I don't WANT to miss it. I already missed my PowerCore last night due to taking my daughter to her 4H meeting.
The only things that I have eaten today was some Progresso soup, a couple of handfuls of Almonds, 1/4 cup raisins and a bowl of the beef stew that I made for supper. I did have more than my fair share of the homemade bisquits that I made. But they were sooooo delish! I just couldn't "help" myself. LOL
I know that I am still way below my sodium levels as up until the stew I had only consumed about 800mg. And since I did not add any salt to the stew aside from the pack that came from the store there wasn't much sodium in it.
I am hoping to be up to 100% feeling better tomorrow, as I have 4 swim classes to teach. And I am pretty sure that the pool director is pretty ticked at me for calling in yesterday at the last minute.
The longer I sit here the more I think that I am going to go to that class. I'll let you all know how it goes.
Hope that everyone else had a better day than I did.
Catch ya all later.
UPDATE
I just received a phone call from the YMCA that my instructor is canceling her class tonight. At least now I don't feel bad for not going.

Hey sexy sweetie!! Look at you withering away and getting so skinny on me, I'M SO HAPPY YOU ARE TOO!! Your body is loving you right now, it's really showing you what hard work and good eating habits can do for you. I couldn't be more thrilled seeing this happen for you. I'm back in the game again too, not that I slipped off to much the past month, but I really just have had so much happening around me I haven't had time to really, really watch and count as I was before. Do you see my big smile??? It's all for you!!! CONGRATS on a job well done thus far!! Hope your feeling better really soon!
HUGS AND LOVE

You always have the kindest things to say! You are such an encourager to me. Always telling me to keep at it and that you see all the results. I am glad to hear that we will be seeing more of you around here. I for one sure did miss ya lots!
Angel
Thank You for the well wishes. It sure does feel nice to know that someone out there is keeping tabs on me.

I am feeling better. Not 100% better but better.
I am still very very tired. Hubby says it is because I stay up too late but I think staying up until 11:30pm is not really that late. But maybe he is right and I will go to bed earlier tonight.
I just realized that I haven't been keeping as close track of my food as I thought I was. I was doing the old tried and true "remember it in your head" method instead of writing it all down.
So this morning I am getting back into journaling my food.
Maybe I just need to be a bit more like Margaret and eat the same things. That way there would be no surprises to worry about at the end of the day.
Tomorrow is my goal day for my 185lbs. I don't know if I will make it. I am very close but only tomorrow will tell.
Well I need to get off to the YMCA for all those swim classes that I do on Wednesday's.
Hope everyone has a slendid day.

Morning Bell!

Glad you are starting to feel better! I haven't had the terrible experience you have, but do so hate any tummy illness.

Thank you for stopping by my diary. I need to get out of my funk pronto, and start moving forward. Getting encouragement from kind folks like you can only help!

Keep up the great work- you are an inspiration!

HI Bella,

sorry I haven't been around lately, I am going to be from now on!!
I am glad you are feeling better!!
I hope you reach your goal of 185 tomorrow. Wow, what a long way you have come!!!
Keep up the good work!!
Hajni

i find it easier to write everything down aswell...welll the calories anyway. it surprises me how much i''ve had when i think i've not had much and the other way around!

hope you are having a good day.

;-)

Oh yes, keep up with that journal of food. I remember a few months back you were getting off track while keeping your food in your head and you got to writing it down and it seemed to fall back into place, so I think that's a great idea!!

I think you'll reach your new goal tomorrow, with the loss you have been seeing the past several weeks, I would be surprised if you don't hit that mark. It's real good to see you up and feeling better! My Hubby says I stay up to long also, but hey, my body is not ready to fall asleep at 10 like his is, so I take an extra hour to unwind, then I'm ready to fall asleep, and most nights within 10 minutes of the tv going off. LOL LOL

Well good luck to you this week and your weigh in, I can't wait to see what happens.
HUGS!
Kim

Hi Bella!
Hope you're feeling better today!
Journaling food is a great thing, although I for one am too lazy to do it regularly...But there's nothing like it to keep track of what you eat.

Have a great Vday!
