Bellaryna's Journey

Stacey, Kimberly and Margaret..........Thanks for stopping by!!!!
I am sooo sorry that I wasn't able to get on here to wish everyone a Merry Christmas eariler then this. But this last weekend was so CRAZY!!!!!:willy_nilly::willy_nilly:
I swear I didn't even have time to think let alone get on the 'puter!
We spent Thursday Christmas shopping in Fort Wayne. Of course dh just loved that, not really........LOL! The kids had a 2 hour delay that day so that of course shortened our time to shop which then shortened dh's patience.
Friday was spent running around like a chicken w/ no head. And of course I had to be to work. Didn't make it home until 4:30 in the morning and then got up at 10:30 so that I could get all my Christmas goodies/gifts made. Dh was a sweetheart and baked all the cookies and smashed up all the candy canes for the peppermint bark the night before. So that we were able to melt all the chocolate, dip all the treats in the chocolate and allow them to dry so that we could pack them into all the tins. At that time I had to head off to work again. I hadn't even eaten any breakfast or lunch by the time that I headed out for work.
I did weigh myself in for the challenge and was happy to hit a new low of 195.8. Not much down from the week before but it was lower so I was very happy.
Overall thru-out the challenge I think that I lost about 8-10 pounds. I can't recall right off the top of my head. LOL
Had to get up real early on Sunday for church. Was up by 6:45 after getting to bed at 2:30. Man was I tried!!!
Wasn't ever able to take a nap as we celebrated Christmas after we got home from church. I tried to get the day off from work but they wouldn't hear of it. So I tried to see if I could at least get out early, but again NO GO!
Didn't get home until 1:30 and was up by 4:40, out the house by 5:30 and in New York by 5pm.
We have been having the best time here visiting family. We walked all over the city today. Went and saw the Rockefeller Tree, Saks 5th Avenue windows, Central Park and pretty much just took in all the sights. As it was Christmas the only people out and about in the city were tourists. We knew this because everyone we passed was looking up and all around! Us included!!! LOL
Tomorrow we may very well go and see the Statue of Liberty. Dd wants to see it so badly. Were pretty sure that if we were to go that it wouldn't be that busy as it is chilly out. Though it is warmer here than back home.
Have been eating GOOD!!! LOL:smilielol5:
I figured that since the last time that we came to see family was a least 6 1/2 years ago that I would enjoy myself while I am here.
It is only for 3 days and I can always get back on track when we get home.
Well I hope that everyone else had a wonderful Christmas.
I will get back on here most likely on Saturday as we don't come home until Friday, 1 1/2 hours before I have to be back to work.
Love ya all!!!

Miss ya!

LOL - Don't worry about diaries! Yer plate has been/is full..*TeeHee*

:hug2:

We'll have plenty of time to catch up once yer back/settled.

TTYS!

WOW sounds like a blast Bell!! CONGRATS on reaching your new low, I'm so over joyed with the success you have had so far on your new journey of weight loss, it's just amazing how well your body is taking the adjustments, I'm very, very happy for you!

I hope you have a GREAT rest of your week in NY, I miss you also, but I would rather be in NY then working right now. LOL LOL
hugs and love to you!
Kim

Thanks Stacey, Ladybug and Sweetiepea for stopping by!!!!
Well we are home now. Whew!
That was way to much traveling in tooo short a period of time for me. It feels like we spent way more time on the road than we did anywhere else.
We had a good time visiting family. I was a smidge bit disappointed as I was expecting some kind of a Puerto Rican traditional christmas. We got up on Christmas morning and it was like any other day. Not even like Christmas day. No hoopla, nothing.
So the kids did open up a present each from Gil's aunt. T-man got a train set which he loved and drove the rest of us nuts with for the duration of the visit. And Dd got a new 550pc Traingle shaped puzzle w/ triangle shaped pieces.
She was a bit upset with me for a while 'cuz I wouldn't let her put it together. Oh well.
We did end up checking out the Statue tho not by ferry. We went to the Jersey side of her so all we could see was the back. But the kids didn't know that they could have gotten closer so worked out for us.
Coming home was a whole 'nother can of worms. I swear everyone and their cat was trying to head back across the United States!!! LOL
And if I never see another Jersey driver again it will be too soon. They have to be the worst drivers in the world. On top of being the rudest people.
Well I weighed in this morning at 197.8. Two pounds heavier than before the trip. But since I basically did not drink ANY water for about a week, there is no where to pee when you go out and about, I have to believe that it is not really that bad. But even still 2 pounds won't kill me.
Dh got me a stability ball and hand weights for Christmas so I will be back into the grove before to long.
Well I got to get going. Stuff to unpack, laundry to do, and of course work is calling my name! Blah!! LOL
So I will most likely jump back on here on Monday.
Catch ya all later!

Hi Dawn

It sounds like you have had a great break away and a 2 pound gain from a mini break across Christmas (half of which may be water retention) sounds a low price to pay. I am sure that your weight will be back to normal inside a day or two now that you are back home and things are back to normal.

It's a shame that you couldnt get any extra time off work as your timetable sounds like it has been so rushed with work just before you left and the minute that you got home.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Thanks Margaret for stopping by! :)
I feel like I have neglected everyone on here and am so happy to be back home and to be able to browse and catch up on everyone.
Your right about the being rushed thing. I could have taken the time off but due to the fact that I had no more vacation time available to me, (will get more on my anny date in Feb), I would not have been paid for taking the time off. So did what I had to do. Though I don't think that I will ever "do" that again. It made for a VERY stressful Christmas. In fact I didn't enjoy Christmas much at all this year. Just felt like to much of a job. Next year will be different.
Again thanks for continuing to stop in and drop me a line here and there. It is refreshing to know that there are people who missed me just as much as I missed them. :)
Ciao

Thank you soooo much you wonderful, beautiful friends!!!
Even with not being here but sporadically lately you still thought of me and that warms my heart.
Now that the Holidays are over I will certainly be back on regularly.
I hope that all of you had a festive new year celebration.
YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!

Gettin' back in the saddle........

Well as the title says I am getting back into the game.
I wasn't really out of it per say but while on my little holiday trip I did let slide all my "reserves" as far as eating things went.
For the most part it wasn't so much me saying I am going to eat, eat, eat. But a culture thing with my hubby's family. His Aunt (the person that we stayed with for the duration of the visit) is old school Puerto Rican. So you don't say no to things because of respect for her age and her stature in the family. So when she cooked fried eggs and bacon 2 days in a row, when all I really wanted was cereal, I ate them. And when she buried everything in oil, I ate it. And when it came down to hurting her feelings or taking an extra week to lose that pound I was surely going to gain I just ate it. For her cooking is her way of showing us love and I wasn't going to get in the way of that. I hadn't even eaten bacon in like 5 months!!!!
But like I said it was a respect thing. In fact before we left I saw an example of what happens when you turn down a gift from her.
Hubby's cousins (married couple) live on the 2nd floor of the townhouse that they all share. Apparently the Wife had asked for china for Christmas w/o specifiying what kind of china she would like. So Auntie bought her china and then Wife (not liking the pattern) asked if she could have the reciept so that she could exchange said china. Auntie was very upset!!! :cuss: As this was a direct smack in the face of her gift. In her opinion Wife should have sucked it up and said Thank You and kept the china forever. She even made the comment of that being the last gift that she would ever buy for Wife. I was like yes Auntie I will have those eggs and bacon for breakfast!!! :smilielol5: LOL I didn't want to take the chance of her being angry with me. Even if I don't see her very often she has a great impact on the rest of the family. And as I am NOT Puerto Rican I am sure that I already have a strike against me. No reason to add wood to the fire. :smilielol5:
Soooo that is where I am at with my weight-loss.
I weighed myself this morning. Came in at a disappointing 199.2~
I know that I most likely gained about 2-3 pounds so the majority of that number gain has to be water. I am not going to lie. When we got home from NYC I did not try to get back in the saddle at that time. With having to literally jump right back into work and then with a New Years Eve get together planned at my house with SweetiePea I figured it would be best to just let it ride for the duration of the week.
And to be honest with you...........none of the things that I ate (including the chocolate....okay maybe some of the chocolate.........LOL) were all that tasty.
I even had a 1/4 pounder from McDonald's on the trip home. Tasted like crap! I don't think that I will be heading back to the Golden Arches anytime soon. BLECH!!!
To top off the whole experiance I pretty much felt like crap all day on Sunday. I thought I was just really tired from all the traveling, but it turns out that I just felt ill. I am pretty sure that it had lots to do with eating all the nastiness that I had for the past week and not getting in any water. Especially 'cuz I know how good I feel when I eat right.
So like the title says, I am getting back in the saddle. And since I signed up for Bikinibounds new challenge and realizing how poorly I did in the last one (points wise) I now have the motivation and determination it will take to get on track and stay there. 'Cuz I certainly don't want to be kicked off of the challenge first!
I hope that everyone else had a great holiday season.
I'll be looking forward to catching up with everyone this week.

You can dooooooooo it!

You forgot to mention the skin-pants you had to don just to appease the family. ;)

I'm getting back into the game too...hopefully that means spending a few more min. around here. :)

:smilielol5: OH MY GOSH!!! Your right I forgot!!!! LOL :smilielol5:

Okay so to catch everyone up here goes........
Hubby's Cousin's work as doormen/woman in NYC. So since they have some high end customers they tend to be given lots of "gifts". Basically things that the customers don't want anymore. Sometimes these things are BRAND NEW!!! What a throw away society that we live in.
So anyway Wife tells me that I am wearing clothes that are way to big for me and that I need smaller jeans. She proceeds to ask what size I wear and I told her like a 16/18 more 18. She takes me back to her bedroom and starts digging in her closet going thru all these clothes that have been given to her.
She pulls out 3 pairs of jeans and 1 pair of nice dress pants. ALL SIZE 16!!!! She also gave a me a pair of RocketDogs. (shoes for those who don't know........don't feel bad I didn't know either! LOL)
Now if you have read the post prior to this one you will understand exactly why I had to go upstairs and put on these new shoes and jeans pronto! :sifone:
I am happy to report that I can actually GET INTO a size 16 jean!!!! Though they were soooooo tight I really thought they were going to rip or something. LOL But I was able to button them!!! So that is an accomplishment enough. I haven't been in a size 16 in about maybe 10 years.
So I get all my new stuff on and go back downstairs.........to show my appreciation.
Now you gotta remember I felt like these pants were waaaaaaaay too tight. But as Sweetiepea pointed out last night Puerto Ricans as a whole wear their jeans pretty darn tight. So after wearing the jeans for about 2 1/2 hours I finally went back up stairs and was able to let my legs get some bloodflow back to them. :smilielol5: I felt like I was going to pass out :svengo: or something from a lack of O2 flowing through my body!
So in all I think that in about 1 month of this new Biggest Loser Challenge I should be able to get into them with a little less use of a shoe horn! LOL:smilielol5:
All in all I am really happy that Wife "forced" me to put the jeans on. 'Cuz I would never have attempted that on my own just yet. For fear of the jeans REJECTING me!
Oh and Kim yeah there was some serious and I mean SERIOUS muffin topping going on!!!! Hahahahaha

Okay so I am miserabley out of shape. A month off from any formal cardio was probably not the best thing for me. LOL
But with the no swimming thing and lets face it the elliptical can be pretty boring thing it is amazing to me that I didn't gain more than the few pounds that I did. And all of those seem to be from the wild week in NYC.
I just came in from playing in the snow with the kids.
Dh kept telling me to not look so grumpy. But when you spend as much time as I do in a freezer the absolute last thing you want to do is roll around in the snow. Where it is freezing cold and you will no doubt be freezing yourself in no time flat. I know so Bah-humbugish of me.
The other thing is the kids seem to think that I am some kind of mule who can push and pull them all across the yard on their sled.
Which if I had kept up on my cardio routine wouldn't have been any problems at all. But sinceI was outta shape it was definately a problem.
So needless to say I was:
A. cold
B. wet
and
C. out of breathe.
Doesn't make for a very fun time.
Though I did get some cute pics of the kids. And if I get around to it I will post them.
That's it for now.

Oh the food thing~
Breakfast
1/2 pita w/ 1 eggbeater egg & 1Tbsp bacon bits
Snack
Banana
Lunch
1 serv. of Wheat spaghetti noodles
1/2 cup sauce w/ 3 meatballs.

I'll figure all the cals up later and add them in.

Later Gators!

Hiya! I was just reading back through a couple of your earlier posts. That's simply fantastic news about the size 16s! Wonderful! Keep going, girl, the silly season is nearly over and you'll be back on track in no time.

See ya :seeya:

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!Way to go on getting that ticker under "200" thats a HUGE step.
Hopw your day is wonderful,Tammy

Happy New Year!

and welcome back to the grindstone LOL. I think many of us were not as focused as we should have been, but are also ready to get back on track! You doing the challenge for Jan?

HI Bella!!

Happy New Year!!
Congrats on staying under the "200"!! I gained like 7 lbs total in like 10 days.. ouch. So now i am back in full force to lose it all and some.
2008 is the year we are going to reach our goals!!
I am back to going to the gym like 5-6 times a week. I hear you about the cardio and out of shape. I did not exercise for like 10 days straight and jumped on the treadmill yesterday and almost died!!! i was out of breath around 1 mile and I usually run 3 miles with no problems. needless to say I was pretty bummed out.
i joined the V-day challenge. I kept track of my calories eaten and burned through-out the Halloween challenge and try to match that (where I lost like 15 lbs). i hope i can.
See you around, I will be here.
Hajni

Thanks for stopping by Auburn!
I really didn't expect to hear from you until you got back from your mothers.
The size 16's kinda shocked me. I really thought there was no way that they would ever fit but actually getting them on AND getting them buttoned AND zipped was an awesome feeling!!!! Even if they were cutting off circulation!!! LOL :smilielol5:
I am so glad that the holiday season is over. I really didn't enjoy it at all this year. Hopefully next year won't be near as hectic.
Catch ya later!
