So sorry that I ducked out on everyone yesterday. :ack2:
It was just such a busy day and I never could find the time to get over here.
Went to my 2nd and final Christmas dinner of the season last night and ate more than I shoud have. ( Horse'derves that is) Which I thought was slightly comical as the week prior I was picky on everything. I don't think that I overate per say just that I don't normally eat that much at all so it sure felt like too much!
Did have an epiphany of sorts yesterday. The protein shake mix that I have been using was missing its scoop. Soooo I tried to figure out how much was in a scoop. Well I over shot it by about 1/3 of a cup. So who knows really how much protein I have been getting or calories for that matter. And is it any wonder that I was feeling bloated! LOL
Today I went in to my dd's school and volunteered for most of the day. She wanted me to stay for lunch so I did.
Is it any wonder that so many of today's children are over-weight when they are feeding them mini-burgers and tator-tots for lunch. That is nothing but good ol' comfort food in every sense of the word. There just doesn't seem to be anything healthy about that.
Especially as they let the kids (2nd graders!!!) serve themselves and some of those kids were piling on the tators.
Of course since that is what they were serving that is what I ended up eating. So again I have no idea how much protein was in any of it or how many calories.
I really feel like I have just hit a proverbial wall here lately.
With not getting to my Wednesday night class for four weeks and then no swimming for at least two and top it all off with those overly decadent dinners is it any wonder I feel like my motivation is flying south? That and I have not been lower than 196 since before I was married and that was 11 1/2years ago!!!
So I guess I am at one of them mental roadblocks :banghead :banghead: feeling like I just won't be able to go below 196. I KNOW that I can but I need to get myself in gear and just do it.
Dh hasn't really been helping any either. I really had hoped that he would stick to the WW thing. But he keeps doing the same stuff that he has always done before. Which is don't eat all day and then tries to pack his points in at the end of the day. So here I sit watching him eat and eat while I can't. I really just wish that he would do this in a healthy way cuz' otherwise it will never stick for him and he will be right back here at this point in about 6 months.
I have my Master Gardner Finals tonight. I am not really looking forward to that. They say that they have never had anyone fail but I say there is always a first time. LOL
If you all could see how big this book is that I had to study you would understand what I mean.
So wish me luck on that.
Well I need to go and pick up the kiddies from school so will perhaps get back here later.
No matter what I will either
A. Go to the YMCA tonight to work out or
B. Get on our elliptical tonight or
C. Go for a walk around the neighborhood.
I just gotta get out of this funk!!!!

At the top of this page just under the addy for the recipe contest you will see Weight Loss Forum>Diet and Motivation>Weight loss diary>Bellaryna's Journey. Click on Weight Loss Forum scroll down to Diaries and click on it.
Not at the the top of the page but just above where it shows you everyone's diaries you will see a orange button that says New Thread.
Click that, Title your diary with some snazzy name and start telling us all about you.
Hope to see your story real soon!

I hope that the exams went well and that you passed with flying colours. Do you have to wait long to get your results?

I know just how difficult it is to imagine yourself continuing to get lower when you have been big for quite a long time. It is twenty years since I was last this weight.

I have often thought that my husband and I have a track record of being a bad influence on each other regarding food and exercise.

I'm sorry that your hubby has not changed his eating habits. I understand how tempting it is to eat when you are next to someone who has decided to eat what you want to eat and are trying not to.

My hubby does not really see a need to diet - but he makes an attempt at times to shut me up on the subject.

Just thought I would pop in real quick.
My dd is having a birthday/slumber party tonight/this weekend.
She is having 2 little friends over to stay the night and 2 more are joining us tomorrow to go to Build a Bear.
Needless to say she is just a smidge bit excited!!!!!!
Hubby and I went this morning to visit a member of our church who has Luekemia. She was is such a chipper mood. Of course being told that she gets to go home today after spending 3 weeks in the hospital most likely put that grin on her face!
So glad though that we went and visited.
We ended up eating out for lunch, stopping at Wendy's. I got their Chicken BLT salad and a small chili. The salad alone had 33g of protein!
So today has been a good day so far.
Planning on having lots of fun with the kiddos tonight doing nails, hair, make-up, watching movies, eating popcorn (lowfat for me :) ), pretty much just staying up late and having a blast!
I will try to jump on early in the morning but may not due to cooking breakfast for 7 people. I will definately get on at some point though so don't count me out if you don't see me!

Just checking on how you are. It sounds like you are having a great weekend.

I imagine that you had lots of fun with your daughter when her friends stayed. It will have kept you very busy - but I would have thought well worth it.

It's late so I am making this quick.
Weighed in yesterday with a slight rise. All those dumb holiday dinners are going to do me in if I am not careful. Grrrrr :cuss:
By rise I mean from what I weighed earlier in the week not what I weighed on last Saturday.
So at least I know that I can go lower. It just means that I am going to have to try harder. Try harder to not eat all that food! hahahaha
Dd had a WONDERFUL B-Day party!
Due to the fact that her bday is 5 days before Christmas we have always run into the problem of kids not coming to her parties because of A. weather, B. illness, or C. Prior commitments due to the holiday.
So this year I had the party earlier than I ever have before and all but one showed up. And the one who couldn't make the party was due to a medical thing that she had done.
Anyway just wanted to drop in real quick and let you all know that I am still alive! LOL
I will catch up with everyone tomorrow! I am just too tired right now. :sleeping:

Well it is official.....
I'm in a funk. :ack2:
I got up this morning weigh myself and it came in a a flat 200lbs.
I have been hovering right around that for about a week. Last Sunday I weighed myself and I was 196.8 and since then it has just gone up and up. With a few dips in between here and there.
I don't know if it was the protein thing or what. But something definately has me going in the wrong direction.
Of course those 2 Christmas dinners and Sunday Brunch that I attended didn't help at all. Can't people have at least one item that is not high in calories at these things? Arggg!
I made the comment to hubby about how nice it would have been if they could have had a salad at the dinners and he commented to me and I quote," People don't want salad when they pay $20 a plate for these dinners. They WANT decadence."
Not me. I would have totally filled up on salad.
And now I am paying for it. Sigh.
And of course I still can't swim due to the surgery and that has me feeling blue.
And where is the freaking sun? I NEED SUNLIGHT!!! LOL
Man I guess I turned this into a big old whining session. Sorry.
Well I am going to go back to posting all my food here on my diary. Hopefully that will help me to be more accountable as it seems I have no one here in the flesh to help me out with that. Yes dh is doing the WW but he is not being very forth coming about his daily food intake so I have to assume that he is not staying on track.

Almost forgot to tell you....LOL....when we were at the BABW they had NO Rudolph's or his girlfriend. I didn't even realize that you could make one until we came home and saw a paper that was in dd's bear box.
Maybe you can find them near you but not here in Indiana.

Today turned out to be a pretty decent day. I got to my PowerCore Class tonight feeling ho-hum and left feeling great. Which is always a good feeling.
Now I just need to carry that good feeling all the way thru tomorrow.
Ok so I am going to go and update my food for the rest of the day and catch some shows on the boob tube. Hope everyone has/had a great night!

Weighed in today considerably lower than yesterday......197.8 where-as yesterday was 200 even.
So the only thing that I can really conclude from all this is that I haven't been drinking my water like I should. As yesterday I drank a total of 90oz.
So I guess it's back to the H2O regime for me! LOL
The weather here is nasty today. Not nearly as gross as in the middle of the country but still gross. The kids ended up not going to school yesterday and had a 2 hour delay this morning.
My oldest ds was quite putout by the fact that they didn't cancel school again. In all, all he really wanted was another day off school. And to tell you the truth if had I been locked up here for another whole day with 3 children and 2 dogs I might have run :gnorsi: out the door screaming for mercy. LOL
I'm planning on hitting the elliptical tonight to up my cardio workouts. I have been letting myself slack off ever since having the surgery. But after spending a whole week with the up/down scale saga I think I better just get to it.
I am so sore from last nights PowerCore class. For the most part we really spread out the "love" of which muscles are going to be used. So you never have one particular part of the body being overly sore. But every once in a while Kelly (trainer) will work on one area more than the others. So my shoulders are aching. And my BUTT! LOL
But I know it is all for the greater good.
In fact my dd was so funny this morning, cuz' as I was attempting to sit down on one of our hardback dining room chairs and complaining about how Kelly is trying to kill us she says to me, " She is not killing you mom. She is making you better. Besides you signed up for this!" I was like you know what your right and I need to quit complaining about it.
So no more complaining.......well.......maybe a little bit. But just to you guys. I know you won't mind.

What a hectic day!
Had to get the grocery shopping done so spent at least an hour and a half at the store this morning. And with the kids having a 2 hour delay that put me at about 12:30 to get back home.
Came home put away all the groceries, jumped on here real quick, then got some cleaning done in the kitchen and threw in some laundry. By that time I needed to pick up the kids from school and run to a doctors appt that was 1/2 and hour away. Didn't make it back home until 7pm. Threw the kids in the tub, got their jammies on then threw them back in the car to go and pick up big brother from his job as it was raining and didn't want him to walk in that kind of weather.
Came back home, prayed, read stories, tucked in and here I am. WHEW!!! :willy_nilly::willy_nilly:
In all that I ended up eating my lunch and my dinner out but I think that I made some really good choices. I haven't got all my water in yet but plan to slam a bunch down before bed.
I hope everyone else's day was a good one.

Well this morning started out rather well.
I did the usual weigh myself thing and came in at my lowest weight yet!
196.4
So from here on out it is all new territory for me. I haven't been at this weight in at least 11 1/2 years. I guess we could count the time 2 years ago that I got to 196.6 but I was only there for like a week and then it started going right back up again.
I have made a really good friendship connection with my instructor from my PowerCore class. She is sooooo very nice and is such an encouragement to me. When I am in class feeling like I can't do something she keeps telling me that "Yes you can!" And you know what she's right. I can!
Today is a get the rest of the house picked up day. I almost have all the laundry done and just need to do some general cleaning around the house. Though I do need to power clean the bathrooms.
I also need to get crackin' on my Secret Sis's Christmas present. She just had a baby in January and I am making her a scrapbook of this past year of her baby. I was suppose to be making it all year long but her hubby didn't get the pictures to me until last week. Soooooooo like I said I got to get crackin' on that. hahaha
Planning on having a steamed fish dish with rice and tators for supper tonight. It is one of my favorites and so easy to make.
Speaking of fish.....hubby got me a starfish for Christmas. Last year he gave me a saltwater tank for Christmas and due to the fact that the fishes are so expensive there is not very many in my tank! LOL
Of course it is a small tank so I can't have alot anyway. But the starfish is sooo cool. I love the fact that everytime I look in the tank he is "hiding" in a new spot and I have to find him.
Well I need to get going on stuff around here if I am going to have it done before the kiddies get home from school.
