Being a responsible adult! Weight loss n stuff...

Dropped in to say... not a single cavity! Dentist wasn't bad at all, huzzah! I do need to get my bottom wisdom teeth removed in the near future though, it's why my front teeth are a bit sensitive... they're being moved. All good, I'll sort that when I get a job.

Just got back from the gym, good hard workout! I'm going to one more workout tomorrow then a rest day, yay! I've been so good this week after the little Easter mess up, REALLY want a whoosh this week. Also, it's our first challenge weigh in and I'd like to see a good number!

Class last night was good too, I'm getting a lot better at running. Ended up doing mainly legs for both sessions yesterday so it made this mornings upper body session pretty good. Tomorrow I'm going to my PTs class in the park (the one I was going to before the challenge). Really looking forward to see how much better I go with the cardio parts! Wade is coming too, that'll be interesting. Good on him!

Today my husband has work off and we're going to watch Spiderman at the cinema this arvo, apart from that it'll be a quiet day I think.

Survived the chiro, actually feel a lot better too!! Let sleepiness get the better of me this afternoon though, ate up to maintenance today. Tomorrow will have to be a really good day though, weighing in on Mon! Determined to have lost at least 1kg since starting.

Hello my lovely.

Cheers for checking in on my (yet again) new diary. I've really struggled to get back into fitness but we've just got another dog who needs lots of walks, so that should hopefully help. Also, I'm starting an 'insanity' class on Wednesday night and gonna try and get some running in. NO, NOT TRY!!!!! I WILL get running done. I really do miss how great exercise and eating healthy makes me feel. Just haven't managed to motivate myself and the weight kept piling on. NO MORE!!

Much love xoxo

I know you've got this Kate!!

Well guys, end of yet another week and weigh in tomorrow. I managed 8 (8!!) workouts this week, today I didn't get up and go for a walk because I kind of felt like I earned a sleep in and a lazy day. Haha. Tomorrow I really hope I weigh 71kgs (or less), will see what happens! Food still isn't quite where I want it but I managed a decent deficit for the week (a little under 3500cals total) so I'm still in there. Really want to get even better for the next fortnight!

Food plan for tomorrow

S (pre workout) 100g yogurt, 25g nut butter
B 2 eggs, bacon, 2 pieces PB toast
S Berry protein muffin
L Bean and cheese omelette
S Homemade ice-cream with cottage cheese, almond milk, stevia, cocoa powder
D 2 turkey sausages, cauli-tots, broccoli

Total calories 2085

Exercise 10mins biking to the park and back, 1hr exercise class (Tomorrow I'm doing a crossfit challenge called wor, no idea what to expect!), 30mins walking to class and back

Hi Lucy, what a week! Surely you must see a loss. I can only try to imagine how fit you must feel! From memory you steer clear of grains, but do you also avoid wheat. I would love to make a bar that I could take to golf that is wheat-free & not very high in cals. I get SO hungry when I play golf. I usually eat 2 bananas & a gluten-free fruit filled bar, but would love to make something filling & nutritious. It doesn't have to be sweet. Would you have a recipe that you could share with me please. I have had little success with gluten-free baking :( There must be a knack to it, that's for sure, one I don't have.
Hope you get favourable news re the job soon! xo Cate

Cate, I have this recipe I stumbled on just before Christmas: They taste soooooooo good!! You can be pretty flexible with what you put in them, like any flavour protein/ can skip the choc chips/ etc. Such a good texture too! A pan (one recipe) makes 16 squares and they freeze really well.

Heya :)

Wow!!! You really have been a fitness freak this week! And there's me going for a walk lol.......Maybe I will get a little run in after work tomorrow.

Hope the scales are nice to you tomorrow :)

MEGA retaining fluid today. Not sure why, I woke up feeling jiggly and really didn't want to step on the scales... was 72.2kgs, urgh. Was considering weighing in again later in the week but there's not much point, I know I really weigh a lot closer to 71. Will just watch my food intake a bit closer next weekend. Not adjusting my weight on anything. The weigh in at the challenge was ok though, I'm down 800g from when I started, bf% has dropped 1.5%, visceral fat went down... I was happy! Would really like to lose more next time though, stepping it up a little. Aiming for a 700cal deficit average over this fortnight!

I'm completely dripping wet right now too, was bucketing down this morning and I was so tempted to not go... but it lightened up a little so I got my husband to drop me at the park on his way to work. We worked out under cover and it was only sprinkling the whole time, then when it came to walking home the sky just opened up and it hasn't stopped pouring yet, 45mins later! Yuck, my shoes. Wade is dropping me to class today.

Food plan for tomorrow

S (pre workout) 100g yogurt, 25g nut butter
B 2 pieces PB bread, 30g cheese, 2 eggs
S Berry protein muffin
L Tuna and bean omelette over green beans
S PB square
D Turkey sausages, cauli-tots (THESE ARE AMAZING! Recipe here: I used almond meal instead of cornmeal)
S (pre workout) 100g yogurt
S (post workout) Cottage cheese and almond milk ice-cream

Back from gym! I just did legs today, figured I could skip shoulders since I'm boxing tonight. Good workout! Really can't be bothered with class today, urgh. I'm ready for all of today to be over already and be crawling back into bed to sleep, haha!

Thanks Cate! I honestly have no idea how I did, it was the weirdest interview ever. Really strange questions that were obviously supposed to catch me off guard, haha. They told me it was between me and one other person so guess I'll just have to wait and see... fingers crossed.

Perfect day 2 down, 708 cal deficit. 12 days to go!

Just got back from this mornings class. Yikes, it was pretty intense this morning! I absolutely loved the boxing class last night too, it went so fast! Must have been tired too, husband was falling asleep pretty much as soon as we got home so we went to sleep pretty much as soon as I'd eaten my post-workout snack (ice-cream... what a way to end the day, haha!) Was only like 8:30pm, probably even earlier. I fell asleep pretty much straight away though and didn't wake up till my alarm!

No plans at all for today... the last two days felt pretty full on though so I'm happy to have a lazy one. Wade might want to do something when he wakes up, we'll see!

Food plan for tomorrow

S (pre workout) Chia pudding
B 2 eggs, 30g cheese, 2 pieces PB bread
S Berry protein muffin
L Chicken curry with veg and cauli-rice

Exercise 20mins walk to gym and back, 30mins weight lifting (chest and back), 10mins biking to the park and back, 1hr class (it's called the card game... you pick a card and do that exercise, then pick another one etc)

Perfect day 3 down- 722cal deficit! 11 days to go. Tomorrows deficit will be very slightly below 700 but the few extra today make up for it. I will have this perfect fortnight!

I had a call from HR about the job, they said the interview must've gone really well yesterday because they loved me! They're just checking my references now, she said I should hear back tomorrow. Yay, really looking like I might have this job!

Also Wade was in hospital getting testing done all day, he's been on an experimental cancer drug for 3 months now so he had to get a huge pile of scans and blood tests to see the result... if it's not good then he has to start chemo again. If it IS good, it could potentially be a cure for him. Fingers crossed! He's still there now, should be home soon. Test results normally take 3 business days anyway so probably won't know anything till Mon or Tue.

I was so unmotivated and sore in unexpected places this morning... I hesitated getting out of bed for half a second, then got up and went to the gym. Funny how as soon as I walk through the doors all my pain disappears and then time suddenly goes fast as I work hard. I'm glad I got up and went, not anywhere near as sore and stiff as I was when I got up! The gym was pretty busy this morning though.

Nearly the end of the week already, can't believe it! I had a text from my old boss last night saying that him and HR had kept missing each others calls yesterday, but he has today off and will specifically listen out for the phone to make sure he doesn't miss it. Good guy! Hopefully I'll be getting a big thumbs up about this job pretty soon then!

Hmmm, today... I'm thinking of possibly trekking to the medical centre, supposed to be getting a head x-ray for the dentist so they can see my wisdom teeth. I can actually afford to get them removed if I get this job so I should get on that. I've only been putting it off because you can't make an appt, you have to walk in and then wait however long to get it done. Today or tomorrow, I'll make it happen!

Food plan for tomorrow

S (pre workout) Chia pudding
B 2 pieces PB bread, 2 eggs, 30g cheese (aaahh, my fav meal EVER right now. The cheese goes perfectly gooey and it's sooo good)
S Protein berry muffin
L Thai chicken curry with veg and cauli-rice
S Choc protein cake
D 2 pieces protein garlic bread, cheesy sauce over shirataki noodles with mixed green veges

Total calories 1976

Exercise 10mins riding my bike to the park and back, 1hr exercise class (legs tomorrow)

It sure does sound promising Lucy! I laughed when I read that you were "sore in unexpected places this morning..." It reminded me of a Leonard Cohen song, in which he sings(?) "I ache in the places where I used to play." Fingers crossed now for good news for Wade, xo Cate
