Thanks :) I like to think I am dedicated but sometimes the whole thing gets to me and I get pissed I ever let myself get that bad...but I can't do anything about it other than fix it.

I think if I sweated that much I would cry, haha - I look wrecked enough as it is...but it isn't a beauty contest so I don't worry about it too much, just when I see clients there...

One of the joys of living in the middle of no where is that there is no chance of seeing any casual work relationships. The joy of anonymity.

Sweating in the right context can be a good thing :D

I hate seeing clients there...very weird. I haven't seen any of the true crazies out there but they are waiting, I know it.
 
Ok kids...here is the next set of measurements...

waist - 36 5/8" (+1/8"')
under belly (across pelvic bone) - 40 1/4" (+1/4")
right thigh - 23 1/2" (+1/4")
left thigh - 23 1/4" (no change)
right calf - 16 7/8" (+5/8)
left calf - 16 3/8" (+1/8")
left bicep - 13" (+1/2")
right bicep - 13" (+3/4")
neck - 14" (no change)
bust - 41" (-2 - I still think that this will be a floating measurement, today it was taken in a sports bra)
under breasts (band of bra) - 36" (-3/4")
ankles - 8 7/8" (L)/9" (R) (-1/8 L only)
wrists - 6 3/4" (+1/4)

If you know me you know that I am in no way happy with this. The scale doesn't move, fine, I can deal with that. That I can write off to water or bowel matter or something that will make me feel ok.

I did these right when I got back from doing cardio today, could that have something to do with it? Other than my rapidly shrinking chest, I had almost flat across the board increases. Is this water weight?

I am trying very very hard to stay calm, my clothes still fit, everything is the same and I was actually feeling pretty good about myself until I did this.

Ack - what a great way to start my day. Ok, I am going to try to forget this happened but if there is an explanation that anyone can offer, feel free. I will try again in a few days...
 
I never would have done measurements after any type of workout... lactic acid (google it) fills things up and you start swelling, all kinds of water retention goes on. Also, I would probably stay away from these 5/8th's bullshit... 1/2 inch or 1 inch. You are measuring yourself, so there will be a HUGE degree of uncertainty in your measurements...

You did yourself a disservice by doing it the way you did it. Fasted state just like every other time... Stop the worrying, this method was so flawed you can wipe your ass with those results and therefore it would be a more effective use of paper at this point.
 
To echo DP...
There is no way these measurements are valid. You know that when you workout in any capacity your muscles/tissues expand- please no one call me on this, I know I am right in principle if not in science- therefore giving you totally inaccurate measurements.

As I suggested earlier- fast for 20 hours or so. As far as I am concerned that is the only way to get accurate measurements/weight. :D -jk

All is well Ali. Chin up and take new measurements following the above criteria this weekend. I all but guarantee they will worst case be the same as your previous- but less than today.

I really didn't know this - I thought maybe it had to do with the water I drank during my workout but it didn't occur to me that the workout itself could have an effect.

I will lose the x/8 measurements, round down or up accordingly.

I feel better knowing all of it, we'll just chalk it up to a novice mistake, ok?
 
Tell me about it, there are at least three people I could easily shoot on a daily basis...

I took Keith and Brian's advice and I re-measured this morning...no workout, no food...

waist - 35
under belly (across pelvic bone) - 39 1/2
right thigh - 23 1/2
left thigh - 23
right calf - 16 1/2
left calf - 16
left bicep - 13
right bicep - 12 1/2
neck - 14 (no change)
bust - 41
under breasts (band of bra) - 36
ankles - 9 for each
wrists - 6 1/2


I am too lazy to back to my measurements from two ties ago to see the net changes but I know that these numbers are all down from that time or they stayed the same. I am ok with that, actually, I AM THRILLED WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I know I am going to get a big fat ole told you so from certain people here and it is well deserved. I did a stupid thing and now I know the right way to do it. Thanks guys :)
