Before and After (285.4 lbs lost)

wow FLG...i see that weight is still flying off you! congrats on the amazing weight loss! i remember seeing your posts somewhere in the 300 club quite sometime back...your such a great motivation to let us know that this can be done. It definitely can be done! I've lost about twice what most people here are trying to lose :)

Congrats on reaching your goal, and good luck on your fitness goals. But really, if you manage to keep the weight off, you will be doing something that most dieters fail to do.

I'm looking forward to celebrating a year of not being obese. That will be in July.
 
Well, just thought I'd do an update on this. Since I reached my goal I've gotten engaged, started back at university, and unfortunately put on about 20 lbs. So, more good than bad :D

My new goal is to get to 205 lbs before the wedding. I'm at 244 lbs right now, and the wedding is in October, so I think I can do it.

Incredible job! glad to see you did it! I remember seeing your dairy from awhile back when I too was in the progress of losing. Congrats again!
 
Finding your blog and progress posts on this site, around this time last year, was one of my original inspirations to get off my arse and sort myself out- good luck with your latest effort.
 
absolutely amazing acheivment, gives me great encouragement as I have about the same weight to lose as you lost.

If you dont mind me asking did you have much issues with loose skin?

Cheers dude. Congrats on your weight loss so far!

As for loose skin, yes I do have issues with it. It sucks, haha. But there's still a fair bit of fat in there too. But when you're starting out at 500 lbs, I don't think there's any way to get around having loose skin.

In saying that I have issues, they're largely confidence based. I don't feel comfortable taking my top off at the beach/swimming pool. Some clothes just don't look good even though they fit. The only real practical problem I have is that I have to tuck my hanging belly into my pants/shorts or else I can't wear some of my tops/tshirts as it'd be hanging out underneath them.

But as with anything, you may not have the same trouble, it all depends on various factors.
 
Like you say when you are this size theres not rearly much hope of getting away without having loose skin, have you thought about having surgery to get rid of it or are you going to put up with it?

We must share such stories with each others and specially on the forums..
It really play a vital role to motivate the trainees to chase the target without any hesitation..

Definitely thought about it. I'm actually on the waiting list for an operation to help with part of the loose skin (what the doctors deemed a necessary procedure), and that will be free. I can't afford any surgery (poor student) so that's my only option right now.

but you're prob sick to death of people saying this to you but WOW, your story is amazing.

Seriously well done, i cant believe you lost that much weight its so crazy. Im so happy for you that you have gotten engaged:) serious congrats are in order:):) I cant believe how your face has completely changed in the before and after pics. I need to lose 125 pounds so i will be for sure following your principles:D

PS i think theres no need for you to get rid of the loose skin, you look perfectly healthy otherwise.
