~ Become a SUPERSTAR *

So today wasn't a hell of a lot better, but I guess there was some very very slight improvement? Idk, you guys can be the judge....

-1 plantain with a sprinkle of salt (half of a little salt packet) and drizzled with pure organic maple syrup (surprisingly a fairly good source of iron and calcium)
-1 cup of green tea sweetened with organic agave nectar
-a bowl of steamed broccoli (spiced with a generous amount of black pepper and less than a teaspoon of mustard)
-1 apple
-1 orange
(then here's where the eff up comes in)
-2 servings of baked ziti
-2 small servings of some chicken Parmesan
-2 garlic bread rolls
-a small salad
-small bag of SunChips
-2 snack-size packets of Fig Newtons
-the remainder of yesterday's pretzels

Oh gosh, i did horrible again!!!

Dear Diary,

Today actually wasn't so bad!

-1 1/2 plantains for breakfast (they were getting over-ripe so i had to hurry and finish them before they went bad) with a sprinkle of salt (one salt packet) and drizzled with organic maple syrup (maybe slightly more than a "drizzle", but half of it remained on my plate anyway)
-1 cup of coffee with Splenda and fat free milk in the mid-morning (not that great tasting; but i needa a little pick-me-up, plus I chased it down with a cup and a half of water cuz coffee can be quite dehydrating)
-sushi for lunch made with tuna, salmon, and eel, with a side of avocado and cucumber (great amount of omega 3's and EFA!)
-water to drink with everything

I will be going to the gym later on tonite and after that I will chug down a 14oz whey protein shake, and that'll be it for the day!!

An improvement, eh? (minus the coffee....ugh)

Oh shit, here's the kicker--two cranberry and white chocolate cookies. Dammit, I knew this was too good to be true!

Dear Diary,

Today is a new day and as I like to say "If you've got another day, you've got another chance to make things right." So today I'm doing things right. This is what I ate...

-Breakfast: glass of passion fruit and guava juice, scrambled eggs (which I think are those egg beaters b/c they had a very fluffy texture. Next time I'll ask one of the cafeteria staff what exactly it's made of) and some home fries; both of which I doused with black pepper (I love me some black pepper; it goes on pretty much everything i eat :)) and put ketchup on my home fries (i think next time I'll eat them minus the ketchup, just to save on some calories).
-Mid-Morning Snack: Cup of hot chocolate
-Lunch: 10oz bottle of 100% apple juice; a pretty generous sized chicken Caesar salad made with romaine lettuce, grilled chicken breast, shredded Parmesan cheese, and I put fat free Italian dressing and balsamic vinaigrette; for "dessert" if you will, I had a chocolate chuck Nature Valley granola bar.
-Dinner: tho i haven't eaten it yet, I plan to have a cup of fruit; strawberries, pineapples, and grapes and a nice tall glass of water.

Well, off to type up a research proposal! Until tomorrow...

Dear Diary,

Not in a great mood. Here's how today went...

Breakfast:
- whole wheat toasted bagel with hummus, tomato, and lettuce
- 12 oz bottle of water
- 1 mug of green tea sweetened with agave nectar

Lunch:
- 2 8oz cups of water
- 1 chicken Caesar salad (romaine, shredded Parmesan cheese, and grilled chicken breast) with balsamic vinaigrette and fat free Italian dressing
- 1 orange

Mid-Afternoon Snack:
- 1 homemade whole wheat cinnamon roll (no frosting; sweetened with honey and cinnamon, no sugar)
- about 16 Tostitos Scoops chips with about 4 tbsp of black bean and corn salsa

Dinner:
- shrimp, green peppers, onions, black beans, mushrooms, and carrots in an Indian sauce (forgot the name; but it was thin and seemed water-based) over white rice
- a side of spinach
- a side of sweet potatoes

[ About 100-125 calories over my daily calorie goal of 1300. Ugh...this is so depressing ]

Dear Diary,

Tho I felt as tho I ate well today my calorie log (Daily Plate) on livestrong.com says otherwise. This is what I ate...

- 1/2 cooked spinach
- 2 oz (im guessing) of pan-fried haddock
- cup of water

Dinner:
- 1 1/2 salads at Ruby Tuesday from the salad bar with only these items...
> arugula lettuce
> spinach leaves
> black beans
> green peppers
> raw broccoli
> raw mushrooms
> sunflower seeds (sprinkled)
> Parmesan cheese (sprinkled)
> balsamic dressing
> Italian dressing (<^ a great combination, I might add)
- one serving of some meatless pasta salad (it tasted like it was garlic-butter flavored, but idk b/c there was no label)
- 1/2 of Ruby Tuesday's Ultimate Chicken sandwich (split it with my sister), but with NO bacon and NO honey mustard
- 1 1/2 cups of water

[ sigh ] Until tomorrow...

Dear Diary,

Today was a good day! I consumed approx 1342 calories (my daily goal is 1300), and I worked out for 1 hour, so according to livestrong.com I still had almost 200 calories to consume (but I won't consume them). Even tho I broke out of my going on 2 month streak of not eating red meat (I have decided to limit those to holidays, or "special occassions, like today, Valentine's Day). Here's how today went...

Breakfast:
- Strawberry Whey Protein shake post-workout

Lunch:
- Haddock fillet over...
- spinach with small pieces of haddock over...
- a blend of white and brown rice
- 1 glass of water

Dinner:
- 2 meat pies made with 95% lean ground beef
- 1 glass of water

I must say I'm proud of myself.

:hurray:
