heyy so.. my dairy.

First of all, the basics; I'm a 18 year old student from liverpool in the UK and curently weigh 14stone13.5lb (209.5lb). I have basically been overweight all of my life, so im not really sure what wieght i would feel happiest at, although i'm aiming for around 10stone7lb, which is 147lb as it would give me a health BMI.

The diet plan i'm using is Slimming World, which is a UK company so maybe you havent heard of it. Its a food combining diet (carb day, then protein day) and has a similar 'points' system to weight watchers, although the 'points' are called 'syns'.

So far I have lost 1stone 3.5lb on this plan an it seams to be working for me. I also go to the gym 2-3 times a week. So, i'm going to try my very best to lose weight this time, as i'm going to university in september and I want to feel comfortable with myself by then. So wish me luck!!

Welcome to your diary! And congratulations on your weight loss so far; it sounds like your plan is working for you!

I commend you for getting on top of your health/weight issues at such a young age. Once you can make it a habit, things will be much easier. Are you doing any exercise, too? How tall are you? Sorry if you mentioned these already...I am a little scatterbrained at the mo'!

Best wishes on your journey. You are in the right place for loads of support & advice.

Cheers,
ABBA

yesterday

Not the best day I ever had, woke up late and then had to be in work for 2, meaning i didn't get to eat anything before I left. Also couldnt get anything in work as we were mad busy. When I got in about 10pm I was so hungry and just couldnt be bothered to make anything so just ended up eating soup in a cup and some bread.

Hopefully today will be better, im not in work at least.
Going to my weekly weigh in tomorow hopefully lost at least 2lb, but 3 would make my day. will update tomorow night!

Hi Becky,

You sent me a very supportive message.

I see that you do Slimming World. You may want to check out Sarah's (Rah) diary as she lives in the north west and does Slimming World.

1 st 3.5 lb is a great weight loss accomplishment. You should feel very proud of this.

If you stick at it - I think that you will have lost loads of weight before next September when you start university. Angel (an English final year student teacher) and I were just saying how we will be so slim for our birthdays which are both in July. There is a birthday challenge that people can join anytime which we both joined.

Take care

Got weighed tonight, Lost 1.5lb - was really aiming for 2 but its not too far off.
A guy in my class lost 11lb!! In a week!! amazing.

Anyway, 1 more weigh in before christmas - so i want 2lb off for then and i will be super happy.

Don't know what to have for my tea - im not too hungry so maybe a little pasta, bye for now Xxx

Hi Becky

1.5 to 2 pounds a week is a good healthy rate of weight loss. 1.5 pounds is a very good result :hurray:

I wouldnt worry about the guy who lost 11 pounds. Generally the only way that people get that kind of loss is that they have a vast amount of weight to lose and it is their first week of dieting so they dont lose that amount of fat it is mainly water. Otherwise they might be doing it in a really unhealthy way. Generally people that lose a lot of weight in a week get all sorts of problems that you will want to avoid. If you think about it - you want your skin to shrink naturally not be left like a big almost empty bag.

Drinking lots of water is good for your skin. People say that you should try to drink 2 litres of cold water each day.

Enjoy your pasta.

Take care:seeya:

hy thanks Omega, I am really pleased with my 1.5lb :D

the guy who lost 11 - I was just so shocked! he always has really good weight losses though. I would prefare to loose at a nice steady rate, I would not complain at all if i lost 1.5lb every week. If i do mannage to lose 2 this week then I will have lost 1 and a half stones alltogether which would be nice, but if not then I can wait till after christmas :D

Hi Becky

I know just what you mean with milestones. I always have my eye on the next one. You get such a nice feeling when the scales say that you are there.

It is good that you are pleased with 1.5 pounds. It is a really good weight loss. Whether it takes one week or two (or even longer - Christmas is after all a difficult time) you will soon get to that 1.5 stone milestone. You are hovering just underneath it and in so many ways you already have most of the benefits of it. With a 1 st 5 lbs loss your appearance will not change noticeably when it moves to 1 st 7 lbs. My advice is to permanently celebrate the loss so far - you dont need to be at a milestone to do that. It is a big achievement. Our many USA friends would have another milestone before you got there in that they would be excited over losing 20 pounds at a 1 st 6 lbs loss.

Eleven pounds is a huge loss - but I would prefer a steady 1.5 to 2 pounds a week. Loose skin can be a nightmare in itself.

Take care

Hmph. Not been doing to well these past couple of days, my eating has been rubbish but i've been feeling so tired and done virtually no excercise. Anyway today is a new day and all, I think its just with it being christmas everyone gets a little lazy.
Getting weighed tomorow becuase my usual weigh in day (monday) is christmas eve. At least I have got most of my christmas shopping done, just going out on monday for last minute things and I need to wrap everything up. I think Im gona make some veg soup to cheer me up :p

Hi Becky

Everyone is not getting as much exercise in and not managing to be quite as strict with their food as they know that they should be. You are certainly not alone. Just be as good as you can and forgive yourself any little lapses. That is what we are doing.

I hope that the weigh in goes well. My weight is up on the past week - but that is the way that it goes at this time of year. Everyone will be back and fully on track in a week and a half.

I hope that you have a great Christmas.

Take care

Really, really happy!!

Hello everyone, Just been to class and got weighed, Lost 1lb which im really please about because I didn't feel like I lost any weight at all.

This takesme down to 14s11lb, meaning that even if i have a little gain of up to 2.5lb over christmas, I wont go above 15stone again.
Thanks to everyone for their support :D Going to make some sushi tonight, as its got a low syn (point) value and it is so tasty!

OOOH!! this also means I have now lost 20lb altogether.

A good day I think :D

Blahh

Been eating silly things all day, I feel all nasty and bloated now and im wishing I had just stayed away from it all.

I got LOADS of chocolate for christmas off my loverly family who all know that i am trying to loose weight and yet insist on buying me it anyway, even though i specifically asked my mum not too.

Im going to take it into work when im next in.

Can't wait to get back into good habits again, I miss the gym :O

anyway, getting weighed on sunday again this week, hoping to have put on no more than 2lb, but obviously the less the better. I might go sale shopping tomrow = excercise.

Hi Becky, well done on your 20lbs loss! Don't worry too much about what's happening over the Xmas period. If you read the other diaries, we're all having a hard time. It's a shame, though, that your family haven't been more supportive - but good on you for deciding to bring all those chocolates to work!
See you around :seeya:

Hah, your username seems to catch people’s attention. Nice to meet a fellow Brit/university student :]

Definitely know where you’re coming from on the chocolate front. If it wasn’t Lindt then it wouldn’t be a problem :p You could try and give it to someone else? I’m trying to force it onto my brother :D

As Auburn said, I wouldn’t stress about it too much; Christmas tends to take over. Just think about how well you've already done! Good luck! :]
