Beckster's "homestretch run" diary

Wow Beckster ,you gotta love those comments!!! Love your
attitude girl and your success is so inspiring.Keep up the awesome
work,Tammy

Morning everyone!! Thanks for stopping by!! Wishes, it depends on the scale I'm on. The scale at work closely matches my doctor's scale and it says I weigh 128.5 lbs, which means 54 lost. I've been fluctuating between 53-55. My doc hadn't seen me in a while, like a month maybe. I think he's feeling I've lost way more than 50 lbs, but I haven't!!!! Other people have said I look like I'm "wasting away". However, the scale doesn't say that. I have a new shorter haircut, and am wearing more make up than usual, too.

Hey Beckster!

What an amazing feeling to have your doc say that to you! That really shows just how far you've come and how hard you've worked!!

Thanks!! I'm back to walking twice a day when I am able to based on my schedule. The weather has been cooperating nicely!! Bought some new clothes for summer...the skirt is a size 6 YAHOO!!!!

Yep, the weather is cooperating. Yesterday, because of a communication breakdown between my son and my husband, I got left at work. Sooooo, I walked home..all 7 miles or so. Put that on top of the 3+ I walked in the AM, and that's a good workout. Neither of them would answer their cell phones because they were sleeping:mad: . I did have enough energy when I got home to scream at both of them, believe me. I got taken out to dinner by hubby (I made him do this).

Walking, and lifting weights at home. Someone suggested using a hula hoop..I was told it will help keep the waist trim, hmmmm.

Well, today is my birthday, and it's absolutely the worst I've ever had. Now, I'm very grateful to be alive, and be healthy, etc. However, my youngest son did something at school yesterday, and now because of his behavior may not be allowed to graduate from high school in a month. He has to meet with the school administrator on Monday about this. I'm trying to stop crying. My birth day isn't worth celebrating at this point. My son has been very angry with the administrator for a long time, and this underlying tension blew up yesterday. The situation is very bad. I've tried to teach my son all the important lessons in life, such as you have to submit to authority, even when you disagree with it. You need to respect people in authority, and there are correct and incorrect means to get your concerns addressed. He has apologized for his behavior, but he's going to have to jump through several flaming hoops to get out of this one. Part of the heartache in this one is the administrator of the school is a good friend of mine, and just to make it all worse...my husband works there!!!

Sorry to hear about your son's trouble but just hold on, things will get better, something good will probably even come out of it. Just hold on. You HAVE been a good mother (and father). I Loved what you said about respecting authority even though you disagree with it (spoken like a true nurse - you are a nurse right?). Iwill tell my sons that. My 18 year old has his prom today. Love yourself, feel your power. Get some distance from the intensity of it so you can get your bearings to continue. Sorry for all this advice, but you're gonna make it.

Anyway, I wanted to show you my ticker. 180 today. Gonna make a new goal of 160. Took me 4 months to lose 20.

Hey I'm sorry to hear about your son. That's a really impetuous age and they act before they think so often. Happy Birthday! They're always worth celebrating.

Update on my son....met with the school administrator. She brought out some very valid points to my son's attention. Decided to allow him to graduate with his class. Anyway, that trauma is over!! On to the next one...
Haven't weighed in at work this week. Been walking though.

Sorry you had a crappy birthday---maybe you can celebrate it on another day?

Glad to hear the your son can graduate with his class.....now you can take a nice deep breath. *phew*
