Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles please no bags and please lift my butt before it sags.
Please no age spots please no gray and as for my belly, please take it away.
Please keep me healthy please keep me young, and thank you dear Lord
For all that you've done.

Strength Training and Jogging

FINALLY exercised again.

3.57 mi in 44:15 (mm:ss), that's 12.39 min miles or 4.84 mph. We jogged a good part of it this time.

THURSDAY
Warmup: 70 jumping jacks x 2
Upper: 1 set, 12 reps, 10 lb weight - lateral raise (just 10), bicep curl, shoulder press, tricep kickbacks (+ 5 extra pulses at top of lift). 14 modified pushups
Core: 45 seconds - plank, 25 crunches
Lower: 1 set, 15 reps - walking lunges and standing abduction (outer thigh)

Missed walking Tuesday and Wednesday, and missed strength training Sunday and Tuesday - TIRED and BUSY. Kind of stinks, but back on it today.

Back to the grindstone. Am up to my eyeballs in company bookkeeping today.

Can you repeat this prayer daily and just add my name to your list of people you pray this for!!:D

I see you are all on track. I haven't built up the endurance to run for more than 25mins. I feel so lazy. I want to run for like 35mins cause then that would put me at running about 3 miles. I will try to add the 10mins in this week:eek: !! Just know you encourage me to try harder!!

God I'm tired. I woke up in time to go jog, but didn't do it. Disappointed my friend I know. Have never missed 3 days in one week (1 day she had to go to a funeral, but I slept in still) since starting jogging about 6 months ago. Yikes!

It has been a long, stressful week. Did I say I'm tired? Think I'll go take a nap before working the accounting books again. Good news is I feel good about attacking it, bad news is I'm tired.

I'll come by to say hi to everyone later this weekend.

Sorry you're so pooped Patty Cakes. :( But at least you're getting the books done, right? Have a great weekend!! And get some sleep!!! :D:D:D

I always say if you need the rest its for a reason. Maybe your body needs to recoop a bit! Just get back on track next week. You'll be just fine!

Good Morning Diary. I'm ready to run today. Only 2 wks until my 5k.

Mikelikes, the jobs you listed that you've had sound interesting.

Mal - yeah Amen. lol

Pinky, Rosered, M2M thank you for stopping by. It's always nice to get visitors.

OHD, Pequin, Speedy thanks for your well wishes. I will get some rest this weekend. You all (ya'll) are the best.

Waahhh!! I came by after reading T2's diary and thought for *sure* I'd find pictures posted!

;)

Hope you're enjoying your run and that you have a great weekend - and GET SOME REST!!
:)

Ha M, I may do it yet. Not sure how the other ladies would feel about it.

Today I jogged 5k (3.1 mi) without stopping. I have never done that before. I took an easy pace that I could handle. Can't believe I finally did it. Yeah!!

Time 32:30
Distance 3.1 mi
Speed 5.72 mph
Pace 10:29 mile

It was actually a 10:40 pace for the first 2.5 miles (5.625 mph), but I sped up the last .6 miles. I very consistently jog 2:40 (m:ss) per quarter mile. That little bit of difference (2:30 pace per quarter) really kicks my tail.

I love Memorial Park with it's quarter mile marks and one final 3.1 mile mark. It makes it easy to learn to read your speed and make adjustments. That will make running the 5k easier in two weeks.

The Antlers - girls weekend - Part 2

all right, already.

hey, these are the pics from my girls' weekend (last weekend). we do one every year. my good friend katie (the one not afraid to look goofy in ALL the pictures we ever take of her, she's a hoot) turns 40 this year. her husband called us this summer and told us to act like we couldn't make time for a girls' weekend this year, but that really he would plan a surprise one for her.

so he rented this house on the river in kingsland, near marble falls, for 8 girls. i should say ladies? we are all 38-40 years old, married with kids 2-7 yrs old. two of her newest friends, her neighbors, whisked her away on a friday morning for the surprise weekend. she lives in Flower Mound now. when she showed up, her two closest high school buddies from Dallas were there to surprise her, plus her three closest friends from career days from Houston. That'd be me, Kim and Amy. I drove us up there.

oh by the way, i'm often accused of having nothing to say or too much to say......

he also sent a case of wine plus a bottle of tequila and vodka. we started drinking wine, then mary jane (bartender in earlier years) made us these "key lime flip" martinis. those were awesome, but dangerous. you'll see some pics of her making it.

to explain some pics!!!!! the first 5 ones are actually from saturday, at a winery called fall creek. a lady gave a wine class. it was very cool though we were all very hung over. then there's some of katie and mary jane uh "borrowing" a canoe at night saturday. that's her oldest and dearest friend. all these girls are lots of fun.

next are a few of us peering into the house used on the set of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. it was empty. the current hotel owners are looking for someone to open a restaurant in it. it's actually a very cute house, near 100 years old. we were out saturday night trying to scare each other. silly i know.

the others are mixed up. pics outside in the daylight before we went home on sunday. you can rent these cabooses to sleep in. partying in the house we rented. outside on the porch eating dinner (i cooked) friday night, continuing to drink, then eating the black icing from the cake (you'll know those ones for sure, sorry they are gross), playing with the plastic man from the cake, SMOKING (ok i don't really smoke, but i did on friday), sleeping, passed out, hanging out on the couches sat night, opening presents, dancing.

enjoy. several girls saw the pics and said "oh that really clears up a few fuzzy details - especially on friday night - for me".

the link to the hotel where we stayed:

there are a few at the end from my leader/daughter girl scout camping weekend the week prior. the two girls with long blond hair are mine.

Good Times !! You even look cute when ya wake up ;) Cigarettes ?? tell me that was the booze talkin' !!

Seriously, who couldn't enjoy a weekend out like that ?? Gawd, I'm so overdue.

Go Aggies !!

me thinks there's a pic or two that will never make it on the world wide web ;) :p

Oh Patty!!

What FUN pictures :D It looks like you guys had a GREAT time!!
And isn't it funny how the alcohol and the cigs often go hand in hand? It's the only time my girlfriends smoke too!

My husband nicknamed us The Graces after watching us all dance together one night, he said we looked like the statue of The Three Graces only times 2 so we've been called that ever since.

Our Mom's Sleep Over is in November - I can't WAIT!!

Thanks for sharing the pictures :)
