Back on Track

*throws Patty a bouy*

Seriously, I hope all is well there.

*fingers crossed*

Thanks T2, yeah it's been a gullywasher down here, that's for sure. Luckily where I live, they've been working on drainage and detention ponds for the last, well since I've been here - 9 yrs, and there has been no flooding in my area.

Two ladies drowned in their SUV in a low crossing feeder (frontage road for those of you who haven't taken the Yankee/Rebel test) on S I-45. What a horrible way to go. So many people here drive SUVs and P/U trucks and think they can drive through these flooded streets. It's a damn shame.

Personally I love the rain - the sound of it, the smell of it, how it cleanses everything. Everyone around here is pretty sick of it already, but I'm okay with it (so far).

I don't even let it give me an excuse not to walk (it is warm here still, after all). Yesterday my walking partner didn't even get dressed to walk (in case it lightened up, which it did). I was dressed to go in the am and she called to say let's get coffee instead. Uh, so I did.

But last night, in the dark (which I don't normally like to do), I walked about 3 miles (took new route - rhymes with out here in Texas, see test), in about 42-44 minutes (forgot to click my stop watch at one point, so I'm guessing). I think it may have been a longer distance because that's slower than I think I was walking. I didn't want to jog because my legs and butt were feeling it from the two continuous jogs this weekend, but I did push it on walking. My legs hurt a little this am, but I know I'll have an easy walk with my friend this am, so it's fine. Meeting her at 6:30am.

Weight's down a little to a new low.

Who knows other good ticker sites? I've used tickerfactory.com, but it does something weird when you enter in a weight that isn't a half or whole pound.

There is no contact info for that site to give them feedback on the glitch.

I've seen other sites referred here, but on a quick search can't find the reference here.

Thanks.

Good Morning Patty,

No help here regarding other tickers - the only one I've used is the tickerfactory one, and you're right, it does something funny with fractional numbers!

Have a good walk this morning - oh, and did I miss the Yankee/Rebel test somewhere?

I'm from the South. Southern CA that is ;)

Yeah M2M, I don't know what you call Southern CA folk..... Here's the "test". It was from Sunday night...

Want to take a test?????? Are you a Yankee or a Rebel?

http://www.alphadictionary.com/articles/yankeetest.html

My results were:

"85% Dixie. Do you still use Confederate money?"

P.S. It's about how you speak

I did do my walk this morning. VERY foggy. 30 minutes, I jogged the last 3 min after dropping my g/f off at 27 minutes (had to at least get to 30). She lives a couple houses down and sometimes I keep going when she and I are done.

Looks like a bike day here. I don't share the same enthusiasm as you about rain walking though I even did the snow walking when I started this journey.

I had hyperfear if I missed a day in that first 2 months I would stop walking altogether so yes, I had to bundle up and endure the elements a few times.

I'm googling a ticker for 'raging beauties', seems like the creative market is wide open and no one has one developed yet. Opportunity knocks ;)

Good Mornin' Patty Cakes!! I love walking in the rain.. but not when it's freezing out like it is today.

You are doing so great! Keep it up! :D:D:D

I liked how they gave a location/region for each expression.

Mike, I think the test might have been partial to the middle region of North America ;) Not that Canada doesn't have any Rebels ;) They just might not sound like 'em!

Patty, I hope you're having a great day - I'll be heading out for my walk this morning and possibly meet up with Pam, the woman I walked with yesterday. I'm almost afraid to ;)

Be afraid. Be very afraid....

No, it's great that you have someone to shake up your routine. I'm sort of that person to my two girlfriends I walk with. I'd love to have someone come kick my butt and push me.

Taking a Woman to Bed

What is the difference between girls/women aged: 8, 18, 28, 38, 48, 58. 68, and 78 ?

At 8 -- You take her to bed and tell her a story.

At 18 -- You tell her a story and take her to bed.

At 28 -- You don't need to tell her a story to take her to bed.

At 38 -- She tells you a story and takes you to bed.

At 48 -- She tells you a story to avoid going to bed.

At 58 -- You stay in bed to avoid her story.

At 68 -- If you take her to bed, that'll be a story!

At 78 -- What story??? What bed??? Who the hell are you???

Good morning Patty Cakes!! Just came by to say thanks for stopping by my journal, much appriciated. *big hug back* Have a great day!!!

Walked 32 minutes today with friend. Did not map distance. Kind of want to run, but don't know if I want to drive down to park. Debating.... run here, there or lay on the couch????????
